One of the best written, but not the greatest.[QUOTE="alfredooo"][QUOTE="Ravenchrome"] Following scientific, factual history, Moses is not a Christian. I take it that you are one of those people who assume the age of the Earth being 6000 years old.
MrSelf-Destruct
No sir, I'm not. Almost all I know about Moses is that he shows up on the bible and sorta divided a river in two. I just made the connection with Bible = TC and the game are trying to convert people.
 He parted a sea! A freakin' beaver can divide a river. Not picking on you, I just thought that was kinda funny. I don't expect everyone to know what the hell Moses's crazy ass did. Talking to bushes and whatnot I don't see how he expected anyone to believe it, either. :PZOMG all of a sudden.... Moses is a total badass. I wouldn't mind playing as him in an RPG, owning it up at the seven seas and stuff.

Awww,it´s the first game I´ve ever played(or at least that I can remember)....but Ultima VII is better. ;)
Arach666
But is it as influential? How good something is doesn't really have to do with how good it is, so much as it has to do with how influential it is.
Oh,Quest of the Avatar sure is influential, but VII is a much better game. Being influential = best to some though,I guess... I actually think some aspects were much better done in IV, like ethics for example. In VII, you can commit crimes and get away with it, not so in IV. VII also had some BAD bugs.VII beats IV in plot (and VII pt2 is even better), however, it did not have the ethical dilemmas as IV did.
Too be honest, TC, you thought Dragon Age 2 was a good RPG, too. I just don't think I'm going to take your word on this. :PMrSelf-DestructNot the only one singing its praises

Oh thank Moses. I thought that was going to be about DA II. :P I'm just kidding with you anyhow. It sounds like it was way ahead of its time. It was certainly ahead of mine. I was only 3 years old when it came out. :shock:I agree.Chrono Trigger for me.

No Dark Souls comes out later this year :P. I kid! The Witcher 2 looks amazing. The greatest RPG ever made will come out next month.

I guess I really can´t disagree with you on that.[QUOTE="texasgoldrush"]

I guess I really can´t disagree with you on that. In IV, you cannot just power your way through. You can try, but to get powerful, you may violate the virtues. For example, the common RPG thing is to grind for XP, but doing so violates the virtues if your enemies flee and you kill them as they flee. You can steal powerful weapons and money to get powerful quickly, and rip off merchants, but you will never be honest. You have to give up riches to gain compassion, etc. You have to master ALL virtues to win the game. and the opening is BRILLIANT, where you have to make moral gray decisions in which virtue you value more when solving an ethical dillemma. Your character class is based off that.Chrono Trigger is great, but Cross is VERY overrated.Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross says hi!

I will agree with that, but I still wasn't disappointed with it at all.
VII was better
Also artistically FF9 is still the ultimate RPG, the world, artistic detail that has gone in this game beats anything
I swear to god it looks like someone traced a sunday school handout.

Well, the Avatar is very much the Messiah of Ultima (even more so in this game) so that's probably intentional.
I can't agree with you, texas.
I think Gothic 2: Gold, Ultima 7, Xenogears (despite the fact that the second disk is just bad compared to the first one, and the japanese to english did not translate well.. at all) and Planescape Torment are the greatest RPGs of all times, bar none.
I can't pick one, so all of 'em are my personal first place. I haven't played Ultima IV, yet. Is it superior to Ultima 7? I always believed 7 was the greatest of the series, it's a perfect RPG, i'm playing it from time to time, right now, trough mods.

Lucianu
I would change Xenogears with FF9, due to theme i prefer, but the others are spot on
[QUOTE="EddieTheHead84"]and Ultima IV says look how much I influenced you. That doesn't make a game better. Lol.Fallout 1 says hello.

Richard Garriot himself considers both IV and VII his best. as I have said earlier, IV had the ethical dilemma's VII lacked.KOTOR2 if you're going to pick one of them. But even then... If EA closed down the online version of Ultima IV, does that mean they're selling the game somehwere?KOTOR... that is all. :P

TW2 conference today. Lets wait for that first. Tweets can mean nothing and devs often say the wrong thing.
