Nearly everyone with a playstation 2 had to replace it after it broke. and they replace the replacement a few years later, PS3 will do the same in about a year.

And the wii selling good= bad?:? though i take it you are refering to the fact it has nothing to play. and i'd still prefer it over another graphics machine like the other two, at least it gives some variety.

i know the ps2 broke often. but this isent about the ps2, plus i doubt the ps3 will all of a sudden start breaking for no reason. it has like a 1% failure rate right now..why would that rise?

about the wii, it is selling great and i understand what you are saying it adds variety to gaming instead of having to graphics machines like i do. my problem with it is the controls, which i think are terrible. i loved my gamecube...alot. but i ant play games without a real controller. the wii just seems to me like something you play at an arcade for a week and never touch it agian.

Uhhh, no. Final Fantasy XIII is the magnitude of Halo times 2. MGS4 is as big as Halo, but I do think it will be restricted due to PS3s small userbase.

Yeah the PS3 didnt have that great of a year, but they could turn it around with afew big games like MGS and Killzone 2. Soon as the PS3 starts getting some exclusive AAA games, i'll think about getting one.

I want one and it was hard to pick which one I wanted more between the 360 and the PS3. On one side there was RFOM and Motorcross which I want to own and play. Then on the other end there is a system that famous for breaking down and Halo 3. I really don't like Halo but because so many of my friends play Halo 3 online I picked the 360. But it a sad because I really wanted to play 70 person tournaments on RFOM.

So the PS3's birthday is today. The PS3 was launched on Nov 11 2006. Comming off the heels of the PS2 which sold 120 million console. Ps2 also had largest game libary,most AAAE and AAE games, and generaly considered the console winner last gen. So how has the PS3 faired? Lets see.

3-Both launch skus have already been discontinued. The 20gb and 60gb are no more. Can anyone remember when another console had all its launch skus discontinued in less then a year? I sure can not.

4- The PS3 went from 95% BC to around 50% with the 80gb and now there is no PS2 BC at all for the 40gb

5- The father of the PS3 got fired Bye Krazy Ken we may not miss you but we will always remember your comments such as PS3 having 4D.

As far as a price cut. Sure at face value it looks like a great deal for gamer. But for a console to have to discontinue 2 skus and have as many price cuts it has had in less then a year is not a good sign for that console in anyway you try and spin it. So yes it does show desperation for sales. Sony will now take a bigger hit on each console sold and as we all know they have already reported several billion dollar losses so far. How does the price drop effect gamers. It may not at all but it could in way of games.

Some of the ways it could are since Sony is losing a ton of cash because of the PS3 it will have a harder time securing exclusives that are not first party because they can not buy them and lets face it PS3 software sales are not going to make a 3rd party want to make a PS3 exclusive. Do not hink losing money can be waved away as easy as MS can do. As far as companies go Sony has the lowest market value of the 3 consoles. So when it comes to making new first party games, getting 3rd party exclusives , and getting multiplats all this can take effect because they are now having such low sales and also having a larger cash hit off each console now. Nothing could happen at all though.
