Other than the PS4's hardware.
When I think about it, what has Sony really done this generation so far? Shareplay? From what I've heard, it's connection kinda sucks. what else? PS Now? The concept is cool, but if your internet isn't that great, it won't be pretty. What's left? $15 PS2 games?
Not saying that the other two have been super impressive either. But at least they tried to do something different.
Xbox One has:
- Backwards Compatibility with Xbox 360 games.
- Xbox One Elite controller.
- Ability to make a (Kinda crappy) Split screen.
- Can connect and control your cable box.
- Windows 10....Connectivity? (I forgot)
The Wii U has
- Backwards Compatibility with Wii games.
- Virtual Console games. (DS games on the big screen. Wahoo!)
- Gamepad can be used as a TV remote.
- 5-Player local multiplayer.
- Off screen play.
- Dual screen co-op.
- Backwards Compatible with Wii Remotes and accessories.
- Miiverse. (Almost every game has it's own community)
What features does the PS4 have that is as, interesting, as the other two consoles?
I know people will say that the PS4 has lots of games and exclusives. But again, that's mainly due to hardware power, not hardware features.
Besides, %85 of it's games are Multiplats. Where are the 1st party exclusives?
Bloodborne wasn't made by Sony, it's by From Software. Lots of the Japanese exclusives like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Ni no Kuni 2, Street Fighter 5, Dragon Quest 11, etc, are not MADE by Sony either. They are made by other companies. If the other consoles were more viable options in Japan, they would be on those consoles as well.
So....What has Sony actually done? Just made a powerful system and got lucky with marketing? If I'm missing something, then type it down below....And add a picture of a duck. Quack.
