Has Sony failed with the PS3 on any level?

Not much to expect from him so good call.

They aren't perfect, but I still support them. The launch was pretty bad, but they're recovered in my eyes. They are obviously in last place in sales (I think), but I'm happy with them.

I suppose the current biggest "failure" would be the removal of backwards compatability for newer models.

This gen, they have lost more than they have gained. I'm quite interested in what the PS4 has to offer.

There marketing has been so horrible for the entire gen.....kevin butler ads are still fresh but not enough

i mean Resistance 3 is coming out in 2 months, they should be ready to market the hell out of the game

No, they made the best hardcore gamers console this generation, definitely not a fail for me :)

In the beginning, yes they did. An overpriced console released a year after 360 hurt them bad at the start. Marketing was terrible. Launch titles were very underwhelming in the face of stiff competition. Ironically, Blu Ray may have been expensive, but its also the reason PS3 stayed close in those early years. People bought it cause it was the cheapest Blu Ray player on the market at the time. Of course its not how you fall, but how you get back up. Sony has done an incredible job and has turned things around in every area. They lowered the price to the competitions level. They secured a ton of awesome 1st party titles. They have outsold 360 head to head and continue to do so. The sales growth has prompted many 3rd party exclusives on 360 to switch to multiplatform. While Microsoft has sold out to the casual trend, Sony has stuck to its guns and continues to deliver amazing exclusives one after another. So what looked like a trainwreck has now turned into the console with all the momentum going forward.-ArchAngeL-777-

I'm not trying to spin anything around. Look at what I said in the quote above.

compared to the nintendo wii both 360 and ps3 are on their life support lol

but compared to ds i d say all 3 are dead ,

fact is nothing tops 3ds/ds in terms of games , but wii has the sales to keep nintendo in the business for quite a long time and wii has been the only one that gained this gen well so did ms they sold 25m more then last gen , 100 eprcent increase but nintendo had the bigger increase of 125 percent

the ps3 how ever compared to ps2 has lost 100 percent of its fanbase

lets not forget psp how they botched that one , and psp go 3ds even out sold that thing and people still claim 3ds will fail , well id tell them it cant possibily do any worst then psp go haha

If you compare it to in terms of sales to the PS2's, then yes.

But as far as this gen is concerned, no. They have sold alot of units and are neck and neck with 360 sales world wide, also they have alot of good exclusives and get good multiplats too (which look the SAME despite invisible differences that fanboys like towhine about lol). And it also has a good online service too which is free, yes Live has some advantages but so does PSN.

They have done a few mistakes like the network hack and the 600$ system launch, but so have they're competitors (MS RROD etc...)

Oh forgot to add they single handedly spudd out their security efforts on their online service putting the identiities and possibly the credit cards of ""77"" million users and caused the service to be taken down for 76 days total.

Sony never failed, they did a few mistakes but look at them now, stronger than ever and tons of exclusives, PS3 best cosole this gen for me.finalstar2007

Compare that to the 100 million + PS2s sold that dominated last gen. Now we have the PS3 thats in last place. They've failed on pretty much every level.

They made a few mistakes, but they haven't failed unless they were expecting PS2 sales.
