Has Switch made you a believer in Nintendo again?

I mean get more 3rd party games.

Mario and Zelda are fine if you are a kid , but what sells consoles is games like GTA, The Last Of us, FIFA etc. etc. etc. So Nintendo needs to get those kinds of games.

Right now Nintendo has kept it´s toy status.

This is the issue, all the games on it are just ur usual nintendo games. The device is still way to expensive, and no games that matter these days is pushed on the switch. it just feels like a novelty toy atm that isn't really connected with what goes on in the world atm.

Then you got the 3DS still getting exclusives like metroid it makes your eyes roll.

They kinda dropped the ball this e3 by not reassuring people that there is more going on atm. It now feels like your typical slow nintendo, that doesn't understand its market its in.

I get why some are excited for Metroid Prime which is just another shooter or for mario mustache possessing but i mean come on , that is not going to move consoles for the more "casual" gamer.

Nintendo need to figure that out and stop trying to be special.

Eh, I've always been a believer in Nintendo making great games that make their consoles worth owning on that fact alone so the Switch hasn't alter my opinion on them in that aspect. However I need to see more to convince me on if I can be convinced on making their console my main console. Some of that is on them such as their online functionality while other aspects are with third party developers in making their games compelling to me enough to get that version. I have no problem though with getting their systems as a companion device because I always enjoy the games that they make.

Huh? Why do you have to be a kid to enjoy fun games? I think it says more about you as a person that you define your adulthood based on the

perceived maturity of the games you choose to play. Fun is fun.

I've got a PC and PS4, I don't need nintendo to be like the rest, they need to continue pushing the envelope. My main reason for disinterest in 98% of games

is the sameness, I need another shooter like I need a hole in the head. Zelda, Shadows of the Colosus or Rocket League on the other hand, didn't know I needed them till I laid hands on them. The Switch is the perfect size to fit into my gaming menu and will continue to get play as long as they provide a steady stream of titles throughout the year.

..Nier, Tales of Berseria, Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Wars Battlefront 2,Tekken 7, Marvel v Capcom I, Monster Hunter World, Destiny 2, Dirt 4, DBZ Fighters, RE7,.. I literally could go on and on

. But you get the point. The Switch has surprised a lot of people (myself included) but don't go jumping off the deep end. Its still pretty terrible for 3rd parties.. and ignoring those 3rd parties doesn't make the system better, it actually makes it WORSE! Because nearly all of those games would benefit from a portable option.. yet 3rd parties are still reluctant to truly support the platform. Nintendo games alone cannot carry the system, the GC, WiiU, and to a lessor extent the N64, proved that.. the wii was a fluke plain and simple.

lol, I definitely want MKX and Injustice on the Switch. Neatherrealm games are perfect for the pad.

I do agree to a degree that fun is fun, but there is a certain age where you stop wanting to play with kids toys and begin playing with mature "toys".

So i'm sure you love Kirby and nintendo and the childish games Nintendo churns out, but to move consoles you need to appeal to the broader crowd..

But Nintendo won't continue to make consoles or games if it ends up showing a loss, i know Nintendo has a huge money tank, but at a point the ceo´s will look at the loss in a product and think hey let's stop throwing money out the window.

So good that you have a pc and ps4 but a lot of more casual gamers won't look at the switch and stick with just a ps4 or xbone

I'm 28 years old and I disagree 100%. Not necessarily with the idea that Nintendo should have some more M-rated games, but with the rest of your post which is just very condescending. I take a look at the bulk of what is released on Microsoft and Sony consoles and it turns me off majorly. I don't really understand how zombie games, FPSs, and other violent games are supposed to appeal to me as an adult over Mario and Zelda.

(Don't get me wrong, there are games I enjoy on Sony consoles, hence why I have a PS2, PS3, and PS4... but the Sony conference this year was almost entirely completely unappealing to me in every way)

And at a certain age you stop caring to define and limit your entertainment. There are tons of grown bill paying adults that play and enjoy nintendo games.

Not a Kirby fan, or Zelda fan for that mater. I absolutely love Zelda as it reminds me a lot of Fable which I also dug. The broader crowd plays a wide variety of genres on a broad range of platforms. The crowd you're really talking about is the self labeled hard core gamer.

Shouldnt have counted the PS4 since its been in storage for months but my point is that Switch a great complimentary system that I use primarily as a hand held. My PC is mainly for work (and Street Fighter) but if I didn't have it, I'd be fine with just the Switch. Give me my quality of quantity and the are nailing that.

Seriously, it's the same as the Sony/GAF connection, only even more one sided. The only fanbase that even begins to compete with Nintendo on Gamefaqs is the Square/FF fanbase, and they're still a ever shrinking distant second lol.

I'm predicting that they will do a hardware update at some point with improved battery life and design, so I'll wait a year or two before buying.

And yes, I've been visiting Gamefaqs for nearly two decades, I know what forum gamers are like, especially so on that site in particular. So naturally I treat Gamefaqs polls with the same degree of respect as System Wars polls. Absolutely none.

There's really no difference between Switch and Wiiu. All the big titles coming out for switch were almost certainly planned for Wiiu. Odyssey? No doubt that was to arrive on Wiiu, etc.
