Yes you could but it would be less noticeable games that were not given as much attention. Not to mention were also talking about less informed gamers buying these games. Games that are not shooters generally dont sell well compared to those that are shooters.

The same can be said of the PS3. What are its three top selling games? Resistance, Motorstorm and Call of Duty 4 and the only reason Motorstorm is in the top three is because it was bundled with the system.

I guess the PS3 is a shooter console as well by that logic.

On that same token, so is the Playstation 3, but it's fighting an uphill battle against the 360 for the most diverse gaming library at this time and into much of the forseeable future.

It's easy to dismiss the Xbox 360 as a "shooter console" but the fact still remains that the Playstation 3's best and most appealing games (from a sales stand point) are shooters themselves. Hell, some would lump Metal Gear Solid 4 in with the other shooters on the platform, so besides Final Fantasy XIII and Gran Turismo 5, what other big games does the PS3 have that make its catalog so much more diverse that people cannot label it as a shooter console as well?

Naming non shooters does not disprove that.

I was only stating that it has its share of non-shooter games, and that there are enough non-shooters at this stage to where you could form a sizable library consisting of only AA or higher rated games that are not shooters in the pure sense of the term (using Gamerankings, and I don't care to debate Gamerankings, just used it for simplicity).

Now, I am sorry I lost my temper, I did not mean to be rude. I can't sleep, and I am grumpy. I am usually much more pleasant. :D

Allow me to demonstrate based on my current library of games for the 360. I have 16 games (not counting arcade games) for the system that are not shooters. I could list them for you but I don't really have the time. While FPSes are my favorite genre of games and I may personally buy a ton of them, there's a sizeable selection of games on the system that are not shooters and to say otherwise is just plain wrong.

It's crazy I know, I mean what is with MS putting out all this diversity, quality & quantity of games for the 360.

I sure wish they would just stop with the games already, I feel game saturated - please MS stop, I'm have way too many choices and not enough Waiting going on. :roll:

Most wouldn't, I know and I'm not one of those that would. Again, there's plenty of franchises on the 360 as well that do not fall within the shooter genre such as Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, Splinter Cell, Forza, Project Gotham Racing, Fable and so on.

Look, I'm not saying that shooters aren't popular, they are. I'm saying that everyone is getting onto the shooter bandwagon, and not looking at the big picture. There are lots of people from last generation who feel that this generation of videogames has left them behind.

Comparing games that are out to games that aren't out hooray! Now if you live in Japan know Japanese by al means go with Disgaea and Valkyria Chronciles..

• But 360 wins in racing with PGR3, PGR4, and Forza compared to GT5P
• 360 wins RTS with Command and Conquer 3.
• 360 has more RPGS right now LO, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Mass Effect.
• 360 has more sandbox games in Saints Row and Crackdown.

Face the facts man. When you have to compare games that aren't even out you've already lost.

The 360 being out longer doesn't change anything, it still has the most diverse library of games available. Sure, it's by default, but the fact still remains.

Besides, the vast majority of those games you cited for the PS3 are not out yet so, this would make the 360's lineup the most diverse until then and probably still will be even when those games come out.
