Mgs1, Super mario bros, FF7, Spyro, Sonic 1, 2, 3, Legend of zelda, Doom, starcraft, Donkey kong ect, these are games which are regarded by most as classics. Great games regardless of when you play them. Thtem prob is is has these gen really produced any, do you see any games coming out now that youll honestly think about in the future telling kids how they missed some great games. This gen seems to have been absorbed by mutilplayer and remember that mutiplayer games will most likely go XBOXlive 1.0 in the future and even if they didn't there would be newer mulitplayer content current gen. Whats even more scary for PS3 owners is that most ps3 games get updated within a few days to fix glitches. What this means is that in the future if you try poping in a game like heavy rain, gta4 ect and you start from scratch without any old game data youll be playing the game with all its glitches '
halo4 ? do you mean halo wars ' halo5? do you mean halo odst I cant see those as being regarded as classics. Remember we have to look at the sp only cause in the future old multiplayer games wont be supported possibly
There is plenty for me. Gears of War, Halo 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted 2, Fallout 3, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect 2, etc. Tons. I don't think of many N64/PS1 era games to be classic, they were too awkward. Maybe MGS, and a couple others on PS1... But even they have lost a good chunk of their playability, unless you try very hard to look past any flaws due to nostalgia. There are countless 2D games that feel classic, because they had time to reach their peak, and quite a few PS2/Xbox era games as 3D started to hit its stride.
Not to mention Gears of War, Bioshock, Dragon Age, Mass Effect (unfortunately, imo :P), Uncharted 2, SMG, etc. There are quite a few.How could I had forgotten about them? Those are classics as well. :P
These are the games that I feel will be remembered years from now Plants Vs. Zombies World of Goo Super Mario Galaxy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Mass Effect Trilogy Portal Team Fortress 2 Gears of War (more likely to be remembered for the cover system that revolutionized TPS this gen) GTA IV New Super Mario Bros.

assuming the 3rd game comes out this gen, i will most remember this gen for the mass effect trilogy. best innovation in storytelling this gen imo. amazing game besides that as well.

MGS4, Gears of War, Portal, and the Half Life 2 episodes I consider games that i think will go down in the ages. So yes i think this gen has produced some timeless classics.

Portal's so awesome, but the damn thing breaks my brain sometimes...
We won't know until some time passes by. To me the actual cIassics are those that stand the test of time more, or have such a significant impact on other games.
Anyway personally I think the following games will be remembered (Games that have come out between 06-09, not counting 2010 games yet) Valkyria Chronicles Super Mario Galaxy Portal World of Goo Braid Demon's Souls Probably a few others I'm forgetting.
