Steam isn't added into the PC sales, I think.
Also, why would devs not support the PC next gen?
lostrib
Because they loose far more from piracy than what they could gain from a console only title
Then you have to include all the money developers lose from used game sales
Not true at all, for every used game in the market someone would have had to buy it new. Plus Think of all the money they make from online passes, rental royalty fees,[QUOTE="loosingENDS"][QUOTE="Zlychop"]

It's cheaper to develop PC games, so they don't exactly have to sell as much to make the same amount of earning as their console counterparts.Thats only for Exclusive games, multiplats still have to sell well on the PC

no its not, they still made a sale, say there are 30,000 used copies of a game that are bought once, well that means that atleast 30,000 people bought the game new, not to mention if anyone of those people buys the online pass.[QUOTE="lostrib"]

Which also means 30000 more would have bought new if the used sale wasn't available, hence the "potential sale" loss.

Understand the meaning of "sunk", sunk cost, sunk profit. If on day 1 30k copies were sold for two different games, and on day 2 the first game was pirated by 30k people while the second game was resold by its first users to 30k more people. The end result is the same - the game company only made 30k sales' worth of revenue. The only difference is the legal status of the two different transactions. While it's not correct to say 30k used game sales/pirated copies = 30k lost sales, since many of the pirates/second-hand users would have never bought the game at the original price anyway, it's certainly possible that a portion of the people who purchased used game sales/pirated copies would have bought the game at the full price had used game sales/piracy been unavailable. It's a partial loss of opportunity.no its not, they still made a sale, say there are 30,000 used copies of a game that are bought once, well that means that atleast 30,000 people bought the game new, not to mention if anyone of those people buys the online pass.[QUOTE="Maneil99"]

YES now here is a question for you
How many of those people Would NEVER play it IF they could not get it at reduce price? ALL those people would create a chance of buying dlc or the next game from that series to come out because they enjoyed it or even ended up liking the dev to buy other games they have.
I know for my self there is a quit a few games I would have never played if i couldn't get it at reduce cost... but ended up buying next one in the series new. for example i have done this with
AC1 i ended up buying 2
dead space ended up buying dead space 2 when it hit 30 new
mass effect 1. i ended up buying me2 when it was 20 something.
i bought black ops used because it looked good but i was very disappointed with waw with tryench. BUT because i had fun with blk ops im buying blkops 2 on release
there is quite few more i have done with with. those are some off top of my head.

Well, i only have to mention Halo 4, Fable Journey, FF13vs and Ni no Kuni really
PC has no RPGs at all like those and obviously its shooters are a joke comparing to Halo in gameplay
LOL, its shooters are a joke compared to Halos gameplay?
From what I've played of PC shooters they destroy Halo, like seriously dude. Halo is just another FPS on the PC and doesn't stand out the way it does on consoles.
Games like Planetside 2 will be pushing the bar for the genre which is something Halo 4 isn't doing.
Also, I think your disliking for the list comes from ignorance as to what most of those games are as they aren't advertised directly to your face.
why do people constantly compare planetside 2 with halo, the only thing they have in common is first person shooting and vehicles. PlanetSide 2 is a completely different type of game. Any one that wants to play MP in competitive matches isn't going to planetside in any way. Its got a completely different type of appeal to it. The night with with halo 4 - get on, start a match, win/lose, a few matches later you'll won/lost a few times with a good set of friends, The night with planetside 4 - get on, join up with some friends, run into random battle going on somewhere on the map, kill a bunch of people, level up, take/loose some bases, level up. planetside 4 lacks a clear start/finish, someone only wanting to play one or two matches a night which can take all of 30 mins is going to want to play halo more. PlanetSide is a game that can easily eat away hours of time, 30 mins is probably just finding a fight and figuring out what is going on.Please Log In to post.
