A disliking of the PC exclusives stems from ignorance.

Jebus213

It stems from only liking casual 4 hour movie games that play for you.

I agree with both. I just felt the need to post this pic:

Wow So accurate, the are missing the "Can my GTX 580 run Minecraft?" Demographic

Probably did.

Well, officially the dumbest reasoning for a decrease in consoles hardware/softwrae/preipheral sales and an increase in PC retail sales for NA.

A recession is a bad explaination for a decrease in sales? Damn u stupid kid.

PC gaming has one excruciating flaw that has haunted it for it's entire history: Lack of Japanese support; as oppose to home consoles... You couldn't play Catherine, Shadows of the Damned, No More Heroes, Vanquish, Bayonetta, the list goes on and on... this is PC gaming BIGGEST flaw(there's another flaw and you can go to PC games thread and look at each topic and find out what it is)... it definitely has kept me away from PC gaming since a lot of the critically-acclaimed games from past generations were from japanese devs, and you couldn't find them on PC... why do you think everyone had the notion that PC is just for RTSes, FPSes, and MMORPGs? (Come to think of it, this is the only generation that the Japanese haven't completely owned.) As soon as everything became about "tech" the west has surged ahead of Japan. It's a point you all will probably have to ignore in order to live with yourselves...

As a blanket explanation... Yes.

Especially considering PC gaming has seenincreases year over year. Just look at Steam. Plus more record sales for year over year.

Recessions typically see individuals holding onto cash and saving as a way to weather a recession. We typically see a drastic drop in individuals spending money. This was seen in the first few years of the recession (early Christmas and other sales helped alleviate this). However, we've seen us, in unison, heavily coming out of the recession in recent years. It doesn't work as an excuse anymore.

I agree.

Most japanese games sucks nowadays, but it's always nice playing something completely different. I believe games like Disgaea 4, Ghost Trick and Catherine would do much better on PC than on other platforms.

Perhaps, the Japanese have a bad track record in porting games to PC. But it's understandable considering their strong history in arcade and console gaming. Also the PC market is dominated by west. Keep in mind that while the Japanese were literally GOING OFF on the SNES, PS1 and PS2... western game developers made the PC their home.

Console are not dying however most console players are casuals that only by the same series, Halo, COD, etc.

New Ip's do not sell on console, the first Souls games sold 400k and it is one of the best consoles games available.

Even crysis 2 flopped badly on consoles as the casuals didnt know what it was.
