Preordering Rise of the Tomb Raider on PC.
It was a good game, but I just read about the DX12 update... and I don't want to replay the game anytime soon.

I don't think I've regretted anything lately.
I bought a high-end headset for my PC that hurt my head, but luckily I was able to return it to Amazon. I never did replace it though. Still using the old headset I was looking to replace.
My 2 regrets, not buying JRPGs when I've had the chance to(mostly because of cost), and buying games on both PS4 & X1 because my friends from 360 split down the middle.
Game wise? I cancelled a Dark Souls III preorder because I'm so burned out on the series. To put it into perspective, I probably have 12-13 runs between Dark Souls 1 and 2.
Rise of The Tomb Raider. It's a great game on pc, but the performance needs optimization. It's real bad still.
No regrets whatsoever. I usually do my research before buying anything else.
Probably the only gripe I have is just buying too many games and not completing them. Creating more clutter and backlogs. Now, I'm being more selective with my purchases.
My argument is that PC isn't a real platform in the same sense that consoles are. Conan raised the economic variable (twice) - not me. But seeing as he did mention it, I see that PC users see this as a disproportionate benefit, and it is consistent with their tendency to pirate.
I'll agree that PC is a different beast from consoles. But seeing as this is system wars: they are all direct competitors of one another. Fighting for our time/money/attention.
You say "PC gamers spend more money on their systems so they pirate more". I say "PC gamers spend more money on their systems so they have more money to spend on games clearly"
With piracy numbers going down, with so many more companies taking interest in PC gaming these past years, I'd say my phrase is closer to the truth.
I don't even care about the piracy in this debate - even if there was zero piracy I don't PC being considered as a real trump card over consoles. This is mainly because there's no such thing as a PC, there's only such a thing as your or my or his PC. There's no set hardware or OS or accessories or drivers or environments etc.

Same could be said about something like "Playstation" or "iPhone"
I don't see how it makes it any less of a real platform.
And I love how you drop the piracy argument xD

I can give the exact hardware specs for Playstation. Can you give the exact specs for "PC"? I can give a release date, a generational designation, a list of compatible software, can you do that for "PC"? If you can't, it is by definition less of a platform, or not a platform in the important sense.
I didn't drop it, it was a response to your economic argument which wasn't pursued you either.
