Why does everyone hate Capcom? I never really got this. What did they mess up? Dead Rising and Street Fighter 4 were pretty tight.enterawesome

I prefer the vs. capcom series over street fighter myself :P

• RE5 is totally solid. Not scary, but solid.
• Street Fighter is awesome.
• MvC3 is awesome
• Okamiden is awesome
• Monster Hunter Tri is awesome
• DMC4 was repetitive, but still good
• Dead Rising 1 and 2 are solid, if a bit flawed
• Bionic Commando Rearmed is supposed to be really good
• The RE Wii rail shooters are decent

So basically I'm saying that there were some disappointments, but overall this gen Capcom has been really good, I think.

There's also Megaman 9 and 10, both great games.

RARE right now. I'm still waiting for Killer Instinct 3 and Conkers 3. M$ has them making avatars and Kinect games instead.

Lionhead Studios. Not because of Fable games, but because they haven't made anything else worthwile. Where's BC? I want something else besides Fable. They can't make 2-3 games at the same time?

Polyphony - 5 years and a lacklustered GT5. Yeah, they got the physics right, but the game was a total disappointment.

SquareEnix - Besides DQ, they haven't really given us many solid JRPG's. It's like they lost their mojo.

I lose faith in anything Microsoft touches:

- Bioware: no longer an RPG dev, now just a shooter dev (Dragon Age's mediocrity should be an indication of how they've lost their way)

- Lionhead: Fable was okay. Fable: Lost Chapters was better. Everything after that was absolutely horrible. If you say otherwise, then you've never played a real 3rd person RPG.

- Rare: enough said

- CAPCOM: they definitely picked up Microsoft's greed. Easily the greediest 3rd-party publisher other than Activision

- Oh, Activision: they've openly stated that 60% of Live subscriptions play CoD and they want in on that action. Fail.

- Square Enix: a notch below CAPCOM in the DLC and title-churning greed. Hopefully they can turn themselves around with Eidos Montreal (new Deus Ex and new Thief), but their RPG franchises are pretty much dead to me

- EPIC: they used to care about gameplay polish, balance, and having the best multiplayer. Now all they care about is having the best pre-release screenshots.
