[QUOTE="LTomlinson21"] [QUOTE="Dualshockin"][QUOTE="LTomlinson21"]Why is PSN more flexible because Microsoft charged for maps of a game they published? All the Rainbow Six maps were free, I believe. Not that this really matters, but there was a Gears map pack released for free with 2 maps.Dualshockin
In this situation,PSN is more flexible because Sony aren't breathing down on devs to put a price on their content. We offer what some may call "freedom" ;)Ok, I'll say this again. Microsoft PUBLISHED Gears of War. They helped in the funding of Gears of War. Take-Two is the publisher of GTA IV. EA Sports is the publisher of Madden 08. Microsoft can't tell EA, for example, to put a price on their content because Microsoft didn't have any part in the making of the game. Again, Gears was published by Microsoft and dveloped by Epic Games.
Yet,the fact that Epic still wanted the Maps to be free still exists. And with that,i'm off :)Wow. You are speaking blindly. If Sony publishes a game, they can have a say if maps released for a game, or other content, will cost money. There's a good chance we'll see that with games from them. You would think if you funded a game, you would want to be able to have a say in what goes on to.
See ya.
