720P is true 100% HD. Forget about "real HD". lol That is just a marketing phrase. Don't drink the Kool Aid man. While it can be very hard to tell the difference between a 720p image upscaled to 1080p, and a native 1080p image, the difference between an HD and an SD image is HUGE.

And I upgraded my 3 year old video card, and played through a quater of the singleplayer, hours of multiplayer, and sanbox editor - and iteasily has the best gameplay I have played in an FPS this year. That include Bioshock, Halo 3, COD4, UT3, Orange Box, Stalker ect. - all of which I own.

Never the less Crysis's gameplay is steller, and easily the best ive played this year - not to mention the later levels and power struggle is amazing. CoD feels like a bit of a controlled thrill ride, Halo is the same as in 01, Bioshock gives you options and variety - but ultimatley proves to be a bit repedative, and Stalker was fantastic, but turned into a bit of a run and gun game in the last hours. Oh and the OB was great - just way to short, and pretty much the same forumla of HL2, only improved in volumes. Im still yet to beat Bioshock though.

Some people think this, untill they see a game in action on a hd tv.

I understand people having HD for gaming but really, you're not missing much when you're playing video-games. I mean, when I play games in my room with my SD television set and I do not think I'm missing much when I play on SD tv. I mean, seriously, the PC had these years ago and they were'nt hyping this like the second coming of Jesus as commericals these days are. If people really care about true HD they should go for the PC because true HD is not coming any time soon for the console world. Look at Halo 3, COD4 etc... it proves that you just need to have fun to play games, not graphics.

Its true that it is benefit and I wouldn't mind having one, but I certainly don't need one anytime soon because the latest HD DVDS, HD TV etc.. are going to be replaced with new, more exciting features that can be cheaper than the corporations that are shoving this stuff in are throat right now. All we have to do wait. Another thing, I do not want to listen to Fan-boys telling me that I"m missing so much because I do not own a HD TV. Seriously, people there really isn't much a different to the point that people can compare to the transition of non coloured TV to coloured TV.

Well most new HDTV actually upscale non-HD resolutions to HD resolutions. So Non-HD games look alright. True HD games look great, some, spectacular.

HD does make a big difference, though. I used to be skeptical, until I moved my 360 onto a TV that could product 720p for a month, and then moved it back to a SD TV and everything felt blurry. I then moved it to its current position: a 22" monitor displaying in 1080p. The difference is amazing. I don't think I can go back to anything else.

EDIT: For clarification, I used Mass Effect and Halo 3 mostly for these comparisons.

You're so wrong its pathetic. I'm not even sure why you don't just give up, considering you don't think 640p is real HD. He's not assuming anything, he is going by what you say and retorting accordingly. And the mere fact PCs have been doing it for years is a HUGE sign of how outdated the Wii really is.

Get over it. Wii graphics are caught inbetween last-gen and this one, and ontop of that, they lack the ability to play in HD. Something that DOES make a big difference [As previously stated, you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference between 640p, 720p, and 1080p, but the difference between SD and HD IS very noticable. I own a wii and i think 90% of the games are truely crap.

There was absolutely nothing that stopped Nintendo from producing a cheap console that could output decent HD graphics at a decent framerate. They are greedier than Sony and Microsoft. I got the Wii for the gameplay but i think Galaxy might be the only game that has delivered on that promise.

But Seriously, if a wii game gets 8.5 its a big deal ... sheep seem to like grasping at straws.

It's not as if ME and R&C got low scores for there gameplay either, ME had issues and R&C was too easy.

The wiimote is a gimmick and overly priced (yes the hardware inside it only costs $2 to make.) It was shaped as a TV remote for one reason to appeal to those none gamer idiots that looked at a normal controller and thought it was tooo scary to use cause of all the buttons(dumb asses).

HD is a nice feature but certainly not needed but not a gimmick either.

A few games make awesome use of the Wii mote, but they are few and far between. For every Warioware their are 10 Soul Calibur Legends. And no, legends isn't any good.

While 720 is HD, it's only half-HD, while 1080p is true Full-HD. There is a difference in deatail, 1080p has almost twice the resoution of 720p and it's very noticiable in PCs with he screen inches way from you eyes, while on TVs, you only notice if you sit really close or if your TV is bigger than 42". And PCs have been doing resolutions above those for ages now.

You second point, I agree fully. Wii games that use Wiimote in a fundamental, clever way, that increases the fun are really scarse but awesome. It's sad wii gets mostly sholvelware.

PS: Part of the problem is also developers and theirs inability to figure out interesting ways of using the wiimote, what I believe happen with Legends.

It's not as if ME and R&C got low scores for there gameplay either, ME had issues and R&C was too easy.

The wiimote is a gimmick and overly priced (yes the hardware inside it only costs $2 to make.) It was shaped as a TV remote for one reason to appeal to those none gamer idiots that looked at a normal controller and thought it was tooo scary to use cause of all the buttons(dumb asses).

HD is a nice feature but certainly not needed but not a gimmick either.
