Heavy Rain is just really pretentious.

So in your opinion, a developer trying to push videogames and the idea of gaming in a new direction is pretentious? Personally, I'd rather play a "pretentious" game that tries something new, than an "abnoxious" game like an FPS.

I've seen very few sheep say such things, and anyway, sheep are fanboys, which doesn't apply to all Nintendo fans. I find far more often it's Sony or Microsoft fans that have opinions of that flavor and that makes them elitist, not pretentious.

I know this is asking a lot, but how is it exactly being pretentious? Can you broaden on that? All you've said is it's pretending to be something it's not.

I don't think I need to. The entire concept of the game is based on what I consider to be tedious. It's what makes this game so "different". That doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing.

My honest opinion is that it looks very boring. The story is probably good, but if I want to watch a movie, I'll watch a movie.
