Heavy Rain = new crowned Graphic King

We're talking common sense here. There is nothing, not a single game, on PS3 that comes anywhere near to that. It is an obvious bullshot and anyone who believes that is how in game characters are going to look must also believe in the tooth fairy.

I don't think you can really compare Heavy Rain to other games on the PS3, since other games on the PS3 have to devote part of their processing power to things like AI, physics, rapid on-screen actions, multiple character models on sceen at a time, and so on.

Heavy Rain is an adventure game, so very little of that^ applies to it, for the same reason that the Myst series still looks better than most of the games out there.

I realize that, but it has already been pointed out that the images they were pushing as being real time in game were in fact just artistic renders.

People seriously overestimate the PS3 and think anything is possible if the developers simply worked at it, even if what is being shown contradicts well known system resources.

It does look great, but why does every PS3 exclusive get hyped up as the greatest thing ever? Demon's Souls is the greatest RPG ever. Uncharted was the best looking game ever. Gran Turismo is still the best sim racer, even though it hasn't been AAA since 2001. Everything sucks and Uncharted 2 is the greatest gaming masterpiece to ever be released. Etc. Etc. It's truly astounding, no offense to all the fans who dig hyping everything up like its never been done before. I wonder when some started gaming. It seems many started on the PS3, which makes sense.

Anyways, I can't wait for Heavy Rain, but let's tone it down a bit, k?

What else do people expect when you look at the sort of marketing they were fed? If you take Sony's flop figures literally RSX is nearly as powerful as a GF GTX 295, yeah that dual GPU one. Sony pushed the PS3 as being on par with a super computer and the fanboys believed them.

Now we get X PS3 game Vs Crysis every new game, they call the most prestige developers lazy and seem to think PS3 performance potential is practically infinite.

Looks pretty average to me.

Killzone 2, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, God of War, GT5 every exclusive that comes out for PS3 is apparently going to have better graphics then Crysis. No consoles can come near modded Crysis that thing is beautiful, why does this still have to be discussed. The PC guys just sit around waiting for these mindless threads to be created. The fact that Crysis is boring and played by no one is completetly besides the point.

well you cant exactly change the storyline of a movie based on how quick your reflexes are or what ever option is promted onscreen

its one big quick-time-event game but as you said its aimed at the story driven crowd, but its still a game just with less gameplay as other games

Heavy Rain might look really good but the only reason is because the whole damn game is a cutscene. That aside, I'll be surprised if this game got more than a 7. Nonstop-Madness

how do you know? Have you played it? In fact, the game has AI, scenes where there are very large groups of people (mall, subway), and it has no loading. Each one with a animation.
