Mass Effect 2 is the better game. But unless something goes horribly wrong, Heavy Rain will have the better story.
Heavy Rain isn't even out yet :|
All I can say is I've played and beaten ME2 once and loved it, and I downloaded the HR demo and found it to be very artistic and interesting but not much fun to play. On that basis ME2 wins, but technically it's still way too early to make an informed decision.
After playing the HR demo, I would say ME2. That may change whenmore of the reviews come in for HR, but for now, ME2. The voice acting in HR was a disappointment, IMO.
How is someone going to give you an honest response if nobody has played Heavy Rain? Just a bunch of ME fans telling you to get that.
[QUOTE="bestever1412"]Which one should I get?Revan_911If you played one bioware game you've played em all. Get Heavy Rain it's supposed to be an experience like no other. ME2 is roundly agreed to be one of the best RPG's and games ever, shame you haven't played it

Baldur's Gate 2 is the EXACT same experience as Mass Effect 2.

Funny...I remember a thread where you bashed ME2 for having a terrible story and whatnot and you were praising KoToR...So KoToR is just like ME2 but you hate it? Also dont deny you like KOTOR, your pic and name disagree. Oh, and ME2 is an experience. You're absolutely right.[QUOTE="Vaasman"]

I tried to keep her away but Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy said you better pick ME2 or you get the shotgun
And yes I admit I have become a huge Mass Effect fan but try it before you hate it ( promise you will be happy you did)
ME2 is a great game HR unique game experience. if you want something proven and solid get ME2 if you want a new unique groundbreaking experience get HR.
Both, but if I could only choose one, I'd choose Mass Effect 2. Both have a great story, but reviews are saying Heavy Rain have plot holes.
gago-gago

Do you want an interactive movie with actual choices? Heavy Rain.
Do you want an interactive movie with no choices and shooting? Mass Effect.

How is it that you have Darth Revan as your profile pic? I just don't get it? Ive asked this before... I assure you friend, Mass Effect 2 is the best game this generation. its as close to a complete game as I've ever played.

What the HELL are you talking about? pretty sure I've already dumped 50+ hours into Mass Effect 2 and the game is built and designed around meaningful choices that occur frequently, you import a character from ME1 that is directly created around choices you made in the first part of the story. You're whole GAME is completely different at the end based on all of the choices you've made... Im sorry, but I've read a lot of slanderous nonsense on system wars in my life, but the sentence "Do you want an interactive movie with no choices and shooting?" borders on complete insanity....

Lol! Not this guy again, just cant stop hating on ME2.
[QUOTE="bestever1412"]Which one should I get?n00bkidAfter playing the heavy rain demo and returning mass effect 2, i can safely say Heavy rain is the way to go. I don't think it'll take you long to return that one also. ;)

I honestly believe hes running a joke profile. No logical thinking human being would have Darth Revan as their profile pic and hate on Bioware and Mass Effect as much as he does.[QUOTE="bestever1412"]Which one should I get?Revan_911If you played one bioware game you've played em all. Get Heavy Rain it's supposed to be an experience like no other. what if he hasn't played a bioware game? besides bioware stomps quantic dream pretty much in every department, so how can that be a bad thing. plus heavy rain is AA on metacritic. heavy rain is a good game on its own but no where near mass effect 2.
[QUOTE="bestever1412"]Which one should I get?Revan_911If you played one bioware game you've played em all. Get Heavy Rain it's supposed to be an experience like no other. That was a joke right? Mass Effect 2 is supposed to be just like all Bioware games before it??? tell me you're joking.
It it were my choice I would say Mass Effect 2. The ratings are much better, considering how much either game will cost you. Also Heavy Rain just doesn't look like enough of a video game for me. It looks like too much of an interactive movie. Like a next-gen point and click game. xTheExploited
Not to mention, if we're talking replay value... The ME games are probably the most replayable RPG's to date.
[QUOTE="jonesy1911"]Heavy Rain, seriously, ME2 is a great game but like others have said, if you've played a bioware game before you've played ME2.TheEroica
Really? Dragon Age and Mass Effect have virtually zero similarity...
Run around, talk to people, shoot(hit) stuff, Biotics(magic) etc etc, I've played both games and while they are not the same games persay they deffinitly have similarities. When was the last time you played a game like heavy rain? last gen?Not to mention, if we're talking replay value... The ME games are probably the most replayable RPG's to date.

Diablo says Hi! ;)
I love ME2 and all (like a first-born son), but I think Diablo really hit the "replayability" thing about as hard as it's possible to hit it.

Welllll... I hate to interject on his behalf, but may I point out the DAO Origin story up to Ostagar's joining ceremony, and Mass 1's Citadel prelude up to the Spectre recruitment? :P
I only say it for comedic purposes, but the similarities were pretty funny to me when I noticed them.
Most RPGs are like this though, they baby you for an hour or two, then a huge catastrophic event turns the world on it's head, you have to step up, and the training wheels come off. It's not just a BioWare thing.
EDIT: What is with Gamespot absolutely BUTCHERING my posts, screwing up the quotes, etc.? Really quite annoying to type 5 paragraphs and have it come out as a big fat blob of text that nobody will read (I wouldn't).
