Hell yea i really enjoyed it..
I found it started of slow, then grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. in fact i am on another play through as i have just picked up the 'move' makes playing in the dark a must...
Batman: AA made me feel like an awesome super hero while I played it.
By FAR my favorite experience this generation :)
However, I've never played Heavy Rain. Probably never will either
lolwut. Not sure if serious -- only genre I won't touch with a ten foot pole is JRPGs.[QUOTE="Some-Mist"]
From my experience, that's coming from someone with extremely limited tastes. I wouldn't be surprised if he was serious.

just something I've observed over the time I've been on this board. WRPGs and shooters would be how I'd sum up your tastes.
Altho this may not be true, it also appears as if you don't like anything japanese related, regardless of genre.

If that's the case, then I think...
Only genre I won't touch is JRPGs, anything else is fair game. lol

I hesitate to touch them if they resemble Final Fantasy, but there's been some good JRPGs outside of those! Like Mario and Luigi, and Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier
I'm not a huge fan of WRPGs. I used to be into them, and RTS games, but it seems my tastes have shifted somewhat over the passed few years.

taste as in what you like and your attitude towards a variety of games. I wasn't referring to what you were willing to try.
were you being sarcastic about heavy rain? what are your view on games such as bayonetta and devil may cry? just curious

The game is terribly boring and I shouldn't have to wait over 6 hours to get to an interesting part.
To each his own. I played the demo and didn't like it at all, felt worst than turn-based RPGs in gameplay or lack thereof. themyth01What's wrong with turn based RPGs? In most cases they offer more than a real time RPG

I was aware of what you were trying to go at, but it still fell flat on its face. Anywho, I never played Bayonetta or DMC -- and the only games that come to mind that are similar to them are Ninja Gaiden (Not NG2), and God of War. And they were loads of fun.
Edit: Heavy Rain was alright, and worth playing -- but it had way too many issues for me to like it. Bad plot/writing, inconsistency in graphics, voice acting, and the damn controls were a mess at times.
I played more games this year than the average gamer. And Heavy Rain was the most memorable game i played in 2010. I didn't say it was the best game i played all year. But it is was the most memorable. HR was a drama that i can't forget!!

I don't think it fell flat on it's face at all. In regards to heavy rain I was correct, and why am I not surprised you haven't tried DMC or Bayo? What do you think of yakuza? Or shmups such as deathsmiles? Also, GoW was western developed and plays nothing like DMC or Bayo, but NG is somewhat similar.

I'll go with Deadly Premonition. the best story of the generation without having to pretend to be a movie.-The-G-Man-Yeah. At least it's one of the most unique experiences this gen.
You guys crying about the plot holes name me ONE game with 30 different possible endings? Better yet, show me one with no plot holes. Matter of fact i think Heavy Rain had over 30 different possible endings. The game was a huge endevour that most devs are too cowardly to even attempt. Long live HR lol.
It's sublime, indeed. A true gaming and artistic masterpiece, and way better than anything Bethesda or Obsidian will ever make. :]IronBassHow do you compare Heavy Rain, to Bethesda games? HOW? how??

(Could be because I love Twin Peaks though haha)
Oh please. It didn't have 30 different endings. It had three or four...the rest were just minor details here and there. A different combinations of number of side characters. DA:O had more ending variations. You guys crying about the plot holes name me ONE game with 30 different possible endings? Better yet, show me one with no plot holes. I have absolutely no idea.
PS Torment didn't contain any noticeable plot holes none that were the big to notice anyways. (that's a feat considering how large th script is). Also the game didn't necessarily contain 30 endings it contained 8 (each one of them contained some variation to them)You guys crying about the plot holes name me ONE game with 30 different possible endings? How do you expect me to believe that a little kid, will survive neck deep in water in a cold warehouse for five days, without any food or anything ! The kid would die of low body temperature and god knows what... You don't really have to be a doctor to know this.[QUOTE="xOMGITSJASONx"]

You play a Bethesdaor an Obsidiangame (whichever you want, or all o fthem, your choice).
You play Heavy Rain.
You compare which one you had more fun with.
Profit.
Of course, you can also get all technical, and compare things like writting, plot, believability of the characters, etc, things both Bethesda and Obsidian are terrible at, so HR kinda wins by default.
Quality over quantity. Nobody is realistically going to experience those 30 endings anyway, they should have spent the time making different endings patching up the holes in the script that all surfaced at the end.You guys crying about the plot holes name me ONE game with 30 different possible endings? It wasn't winter. It wasn't that cold get real. The water was dirty sure, but he could have sipped on the water to stay alive 5 days. See, its how you want to look at it. I choose to look at it in a different way. Besides isn't it a videogame or realllife? Just a question for ya.

My platinum says hello. I loved looking at the different endings. Unlocking them were great fun imo. And since when does realism and a drama videogame make any sense? None to me. Videogames are just that, Videogames. If i want to experience realllife i wouldn't be playing videogames now would i?

It was ****** raining all the time and everyone we're dressed in coats. It was cold. I really would like to see you do an experiment where someone will survive drenched in water for five days.I do think the game evoked alot of emotion.
It is one of my favorite all time games, but I don't know if I could do it again because it is so emotionally taxing.
But I think that is why it is so great. How many games can truly make someone feel the way that Heavy Rain does?

Not sure if serious -__-. I understand that it's a video game but if Cage is this amazing writer that pays attention to detail he would of been aware the kid would of died. The story was decent but as a game it was one of the worst I have played. granted it was good enough for me to finish it, but I never wanted to touch it again
Deleted scenes do not explain all the plotholes, not even close. :?they already explained those plotholes LINK
