If they are going to do that bad of a job with it, they may as well not make it at all.

Playing sports games with my feet in real life is infinitely better than playing sports games with a controller on those consoles of yours. For one thing, it's more thrilling, and it controls better. For another thing, it's absolutely bug-free.

Once EA stopped being "Electronic Arts" their offerings on PC have been wary at best. Not to mention all the invasive DRM crap they are infusing into their PC releases. EA PC quality has been on the down slope and EA console has been on the up slope. It is unfortunate.

What's wrong with NHL?

1. Only North American people care about NHL. And they buy it on consoles (can't deny that).

2. Nobody in Europe knows the rules, and nobody cares about this sport. So they won't buy it.

Hahaha oh god you are terribly misinformed.

The NHL is full of players from Russia, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Kazahkstan, Finland, France, etc.

Theres even been recent discussion that the NHL may branch off into European countries.

So yeah, plenty of people know the NHL in Europe. I'm sure the sales aren't bad in Europe, nice attempt at making a legit post though. Next time I suggest you do your homework first.

Pc gaming has an army of game devs. They don't want to take the time to make a good sports. There is always a game dev out there who is more than willing to take their place. Pc gaming being what is, if the game is made ground up for will beat any console game. With the right game dev we could have a new line of sports games with cutting edge gaming easy.

it comes down to really wants to make real money, Pc gamers created gaming,, pc gamers made companies like Id software, epic games, crytek. Pcgamers made companies like blizzard, anet, ncsoft. Pc gamers have the power to make another new company. It comes down to who really wants to make money!

game devs who don't take their time with a pc game don't want to make money and are not serious. They are wasting their time.

Nah, they are ports that are superior to original versions, you just have to remember that they are ports of PS2 versions :D

Seriously though I remember when EA used to put a lot of effort into their PC sports games, especially in their F1, Superbike, Nascar and TigerWoods series , while consoles were getting arcadish games from those franchises PC was getting specificaly built for PC ultra-realistic games that had nothing in common with console versions.

Nowadays the only place where EA actually puts effort when it comes to PC sport games is their PC exclusive FIFA Manager. No wonder, they're jeleaus of amazing sales Football Manager gets every year, not only far bigger than FIFA Manager gets, but bigger than any EASPorts game on PC sales.

It seems that to perform well on PC EA Sports needs heavy competition, otherwise they just won't put any effort. They did they best in F1 because of how good Microprose's GrandPrix series was doing, TigerWoods becamed PC classic because EA had to compete with Links, Superbike competed with GP500 and in Nascar they tried to compete (unsuccessfuly) with Sierra's Papyrus.

And now they are doing well only in manager sims, because of insane competition from the king of the genre: Sports Interactive.

In soccer they don't even have to try now, because of stagnation that PES is going through (altough it's still miles better than PC FIFA). If PES catches a new breath then they will try harder. Similiar in other genres, 2K is finally starting to enter PC sports games and that's propably the only chance of forcing EA to make any effort.

That being said though, EA's PC exclusives and multiplats that were PC-centric (like RedAlert3 for example) are always nicely done, once again propably because of the competition they have to face in PC market

No wonder EA is so far behide when comes to pc gaming. They didn't even know about online games until a pc gamer told them. They are so far behide other companies. They would have ended up like japan when comes to gaming. Their sports line could fall apart any second with our econmy. There would always be pc gaming even in a ression and a depression.

football manger is a good examplemaybe interplay and attarri if they were smart could get their foot in the door with a pc sport games.

Liked NHL back then in 1999 or whatever, but lost interest for it when there was that scandal with TV broadcast or something.

When it comes to playing sports games on PC, I mostly care about FIFA, PES and Football Manager, so no big loss for me there.

If the games were any good in the first place it would have been a big loss. However because the game devs suck no one really cares. with the right game dev any game could be made to be really hot. pc gaming with it's cutting edge hardware would own.

Once again there is personal preferences towards types of games. Some people enjoy a good sports game once and awhile, just because you don't care for it doesn't mean the entire world does too. However I don't really care at all for it either, but I know someone does!

I wonder how EA butchered this port so much? The game was bound to be inferior anyways though, the skill stick is so essential to modern sports games that the keyboard and mouse simply cannot compete.
