Probably not. Even if Sony wanted to cut support for the console today it would still take many months for development and sales to dry up.

The PS3 has had a slow start, much slower than most of us expected, but it isn't circling the drain.

It appears that even with the new 40 gig PS3, sales have not really changed at all for the ill-fated PS3. Add to that a complete lack of exclusive AAA titles (Uncharted, the PS3's last AAA hope for 2007 only got an 8.0, barely making the AA level, yet another PS3 flop in an otherwise mega-flop fest), and it appears that even the rest of 2007 will be more of the same for the PS3. And keep in mind, an astounding % of console sales happen from late November to late December, even something like 40% of TOTAL yearly sales. Will this holiday season be the final nail in the PS3 coffin? I am betting "YES."accameron

Yes, on black friday Wii's and 360's were sold out in my town, but the ps3's had hardly been touched!

No, it doesn't mean that.

It's selling at about the same rate as the 360 at this time last year with no true killer apps and all of the "flops" as you call them only exist here on system wars. The PS3 is far from dead, regardless of it's current last place standing

Why are lemmings so insecure? Is it because they tried to compare the 360's '08 lineup of games with the PS3's '08 lineup and realized that it's game over? Probably. Regardless, without proper documentation, it's not possible to take anything you say seriously. Each time you create a new "PS3 fails" thread with nothing more than anecdotal evidence to support your argument, you lose a little more credibility, if you ever had any at all.

Seriously, enough with the video-game-martyr-crusade act. You hate the PS3. Okay. We get it. Lemmings or not, people should laugh at you for the ridiculous, illogical, biased threads that you create.

Well if it means anything I have asked several retailers about the sales of the PS3 and they have all said the same thing, the 60gb is gone and the 40 and 80 gb versions are selling stronger.

Though this is only a few retailers.

I think the sales have improved in genera. I will wait to see figures before I jump to conclusions.

It's true thou. The 360 IS selling out and the ps3 isn't. I made a thread about it also, because I went to about 5-6 stores on Black Friday.

It will never finally officially flop....the fanbase from the PS1/PS2 era is too strong, the 08 line up is too strong, the only thing holding the PS3 back is its price but how much longer will that last?

The PS2 trampled the Xbox and the Gamecube and neither one of them, nor the companies, "died". They didn't even slow down. How is a 2:1 lead with a 2:1 amount of time on shelves a crushing blow? I'd really like to hear the impeccable logic behind that.

If you want to push me aside with some offhand comment, be prepared to back it with an actual argument.
