I honestly do not understand why cows think Home is going to make PSN so much better than Xbox Live. You all brag about how the features are going to destroy Xbox Live. I'm not going to just go out an make stuff up, and honestly, I don't know a whole lot about Home, but I do know this: It's pretty much pointless. There is only one point I want to bring up and that is this: 3D is not better than Xbox Lives text based menus. First off, the menus are simple, if I want to see my achievements, takes about a second to get there and then I select the game I want; if I want to add a friend, it only takes as long to click on "Send Friend Request"; I could go on but I'm sure you get the point - the menus are easy to use and nothing takes more than a couple seconds to get too. And Secondly, the main point I wanted to bring up, I spend a very small amount of time in the menus compared to how much I'm actually playing games, maybe 1%, even if that much. If I had a PS3 with Home, I don't see that changing at all. I'm not going to walk around wasting time doing absolutely nothing when I could be enjoying a game. So with that in mind, what's so special about Home that t's going to make PSN amazingly better? I don't see the point of it, it improves online gameplay in no way at all. Have fun walking around in a little sim world while I'm playing games. Or perhaps you cows just bought a PS3 for a 3D version of myspace and not to play games.

Hope the PSN cattle enjoy the 64 player sausage factory. Don't let a female player enter the lobby! OMFG! Hello Phil, we've been able to play the Sims and 2nd Life for years now. It's also funny to see the cows with their wannabe gamercards. So lame. You guys have achievement envy.

Because they need a chatroom so they can actually use thier ps3. I mean they have nothing to play on it so they can all discuss it together by text based chat with other people who have nothing to play. Owning a 360 and being a pc gamer, I played my ps3 once since launch and see why people are looking forward to this. Gives them a reason to push the power button for once.

Home to online gaming is like emoticons to instant message programs... The slack jawed nose breathers who on average spell more net acronyms correctly in a sentence than english words will eat it up.

all the features of home will be available in menus additionally if the user prefers it that way. heres a way it can improve online: say for instance you have a bunch of friends who live far away. you can hang out in your little appartment and shoot the s***, listen to music, watch movies, play a little pool minigame (a poker minigame in the appartment would be sweet), and then instantly jump into an online game all together. thats how it would makes things better.

Home is gonna be sweet, much better than anything Xbox LIVE can offer. I dunno about all of you but I would much rather have trophy's to showcase instead of just some points.

I can already play pool and card games with voice chat AND with the 360 cam. I can also voice chat while watching a movie and go invite them to games without the need to load a 3d world.

This brings me right back to my point: You're not playing games, you're sitting around in a virtual world "hanging out" with your friends. I'd much rather play a game and chat with my buddies than sit around...but then I guess most of you guys don't even have headsets so you can't talk to each other anyway.

I guess you missed my point. Here, I'll say it again: I spend very little time in the menus because I'm actually playing games. I guess cows don't have any games though, so I suppose it's something to do.

Whenever someone says something negative about either Home or Xbox live I take it they're trying to convince themselves taht whatever service that they have or will soon have is better than the other. Xbox live is great and I think Home has the potential to be just as great if not greater. But to say its crappy and blah blah before its even out is ridiculous.

1) If you can play a card game, listen to music, AND watch a movie at the same time, while you're all talking to each other, kudos to you. MAJOR kudos to you, you must have superpowers. 2) On Live you can private chat with anyone on your friends list, and do whatever you please while you are. It doesn't matter if you're playing online or offline, your friend is in the dashboard, or your friend is playing a different game, you can still talk to each other.

Or perhaps you cows just bought a PS3 for a 3D version of myspace and not to play games.Flame1

all the features of home will be available in menus additionally if the user prefers it that way. heres a way it can improve online: say for instance you have a bunch of friends who live far away. you can hang out in your little appartment and shoot the s***, listen to music, watch movies, play a little pool minigame (a poker minigame in the appartment would be sweet), and then instantly jump into an online game all together. thats how it would makes things better.

I can already play pool and card games with voice chat AND with the 360 cam. I can also voice chat while watching a movie and go invite them to games without the need to load a 3d world.

live cam > 3d avs

i meant you could do that all together in your homespace. you and your friends play a card minigame while chattiing with each other while playing music or while watching a movie all together. that means you are listening to the same music wathcing the same movie, not playing a cd from the hard drive or chatting while watching your own movie. yeah you could do that in real life but maybe your friends live several hours away and you cant hang out with them like normal. and on live you can only chat with people you are playing games with or have in your friends list, something home is not limited to.

You obviously never played on live. I voice chat while not in any game with people i dont have on my list. Also cam chatted with people not on my list. Also you can cam chat while playing pool or card games and voice chatting.

as for music and movies. I dont have the desire to rebuy music or movies for my console to watch them with people and chat with them. I would ratherl isten to my own while chatting with them or watch it while chatting with them. they can also watch a diffrent movie or listen to anything they want, not stuck listening to what you are while voice chatting and/or cam chatting.

Whenever someone says something negative about either Home or Xbox live I take it they're trying to convince themselves taht whatever service that they have or will soon have is better than the other. Xbox live is great and I think Home has the potential to be just as great if not greater. But to say its crappy and blah blah before its even out is ridiculous.MorisUkunRasik
I'm just trying to say that Home is something that doesn't affect me at all as a gamer. Does it make the online gameplay better? No. If it somehow magically does, enlighten me.

Ya if Xbox LIVE was so awesome all the 360 owners would be on there not here

Well I've spent about half of today playing my 360, and I need a break. And right back at you, why aren't you playing your amazing PSN?(assuming you're a cow)

You don't have to walk around if you don't want to, nobody is forcing you, why is this so hard to get. Just go play your game if that is what you would like to do.

People already try to customize whatever they can customize on the 360, now I'm sure some people would enjoy customizing Home.

I guess thats pretty cool for some people but the whole idea of making an avatar and hanging out in a virtual world still doesn't appeal to me

yeah id much rather hang out with my friends in real life but tons of my friends live far away so i cant.

You cows are really easting this Home crap up. It's like throwing a saltine to an Ethiopian. I know that deep down you wish that your PSN was a fraction of what Live is.

Exactly. You don't even you use it that much. The simple text based menus in Xbox Live are quick and easy to get around, no point in wasting time walking to other peoples "apartments" just to look at their trophies. It takes about 3 seconds to compare my achievements with someone elses.

It doesn't matter if you're playing online or offline, your friend is in the dashboard, or your friend is playing a different game, you can still talk to each other.

1) let me try this one more time: you do that all at the same time and all the other users in the homespace can see the same movie that you are playing, and listen to the same music you are playing and ect.

2) one thing you cant do live is go to some lobby and **** about home to people you dont know. basically what you all are doing right now. im talking about out of game of course, and yeah you could do that by chatting with people on your friends list but if that was enough you wouldnt be here now would you.

What you talking about. a lot of people may not use home but it certainly adds to the value and is an improvement to the original online. And ITS FREE! Whether it'll be better than Live I don't know and don't care. I don't give a s*** about online.

I like the idea of trophies, but seriously we don't know much about Home yet or not all of it, but hopefully in five months we will and that makes these threads pointless.

This wait routine is second nature to cows. You guys have had since Halo 2 to see what online matchmaking is all about. Then you had since the 360 launch to learn. J Allard even offered to teach Ken and the gang a thing or two. They declined. There's no excuse for not having a service comparable to one that launched revitalized in fall 2005! PSN is nowhere close to live. ALL Live games were online enabled and acheivement ready since day one! Sony has been piecing their service together like a homemade quilt over time. Don't gimme that Free routine either. You get what you pay for. $50 a year is nothing. Cut out one extra value meal a month and there you go. 8 million people pay for and play WoW and none of them are complaining about that subscription FOR ONE GAME!

though it technically wasn't PSN but Sony has had online since Socom first came out they had plenty of opprotunity between then and PS3 launch to make PSN as good as XBL...they mostly just "borrowed" MS's idea's and still couldn't make it as good as XBL

I think it's because Cows don't have $50 to spend on online, since they spent it all on their PS3.
