Home doesn't make PSN any better.

honestly I met my best friend online in 1999...we played together online for like a year we were in a clan then we started calling eachother and we just grew into really good friends now I go out and visit him or and his family twice a year and stay for like a week or vice versa...and in my teenage years I was quite the virtual pimpster :) lol silly to think about now but it was fun for me back then(lets just say I was good at what I did and I still have somethings saved on my HD to prove it ;) ) but I hung it up awhile ago I was really serious into online gaming in my late teens early 20's '98-'02 but I am retired now

you seem pretty reasonable...you sure you are new here, you are pretty adept at SW for only 74 posts ;) ...I guess Sony atleast acknowledged the fact that there online was lacking and are trying to do something to differentiate themselves from XBL not just clone it...I don'tthink Home will totally suck, its at the very least something different; but I am perfectly content with my current arrangement but it is dumb for me to try to hate on Home...it equally as dumb for Sony fans (i don't like the term cow or lemming or sheep personally) to say it will make PSN > XBL...

In all honesty it does not matter to me what judgement you choose to pass on me.  In no way was I snapping at you, nor did I inteand to.  However, to judge a person by level is unwise.  I'm so sick of this console war because it goes so far beyond these web pages.  I went into a game stop one day to make a PS3 game purchase and the guy behind the counter said to me "You own that piece of crap?  Your an Idiot"  People like that are so unwilling to let others have their own opinions.  Thats just ridiculous, so i've done my research (and I mean day upon day of research about everything).  I know all the facts and I'm here to deliver them.  Not lookin to offend anyone, I just wanna spread some truth.

all the features of home will be available in menus additionally if the user prefers it that way. heres a way it can improve online: say for instance you have a bunch of friends who live far away. you can hang out in your little appartment and shoot the s***, listen to music, watch movies, play a little pool minigame (a poker minigame in the appartment would be sweet), and then instantly jump into an online game all together. thats how it would makes things better.  

Why don't you guys just wait for Home to be released before assuming things that you don't know about. You do know that you can start games from Home so you are playing the games and you can still chat to them with voice chat. Plus by the time Home is released more people will have headsets due to games like SOCOM and Warhawk (which offers a headset in the Blu-Ray version) and Playstation Eye is also a mic.

MS apparently said they toyed with the home concept when they were making XBL for the 360 but that it just didnt work as well. Not sure how much truth there is in that but I understand the point. The thing is I have a game called test drive unlimited, its basically an MMO, its a 3D world you drive around in, you can buy houses and clothes and cars, and sometimes if I dont want to do anyhing other than chill out and sort of hang out with freinds, then this is the game I goto.

I can spend 3 or 4 hours doing nothing on it and I like that, no stress about lag or having a bad game, you can meet people and chat and just cruise around in your car and its a cool concept. Even thoughI like it, there are just as many people saying that that is the most boring pointless game there is and they hate it.

The same is going to happen with home, alot will like it, alot will get bored, but the standard menu control system is still going to be around so either way it's not going to upset anyone. As with test drive some will find it pointless (and thats even within a game that has missions and acheivments) but some will like it and thats all that can be said about home really. I see it as a good addition to a system that gives people options, and nobody can argue that this is a good thing.
