This wait routine is second nature to cows. You guys have had since Halo 2 to see what online matchmaking is all about. Then you had since the 360 launch to learn. J Allard even offered to teach Ken and the gang a thing or two. They declined. There's no excuse for not having a service comparable to one that launched revitalized in fall 2005! PSN is nowhere close to live. ALL Live games were online enabled and acheivement ready since day one! Sony has been piecing their service together like a homemade quilt over time. Don't gimme that Free routine either. You get what you pay for. $50 a year is nothing. Cut out one extra value meal a month and there you go. 8 million people pay for and play WoW and none of them are complaining about that subscription FOR ONE GAME!

I don't see it as waiting, I have other consoles other games, I know though that the PSN will eventually be better. If I only had a PS3 and was only using it for online play I would have returned it long ago. The ps2/GCN era of gaming was hardly concerned with online play. MS made a good move making it priority to make a solid online community last gen and is reaping the benefits this gen, I don't think Nintendo will catch up this gen with online play and it will still outsell both the ps3 and 360, what I'm saying is 50 dollars or free sony will eventually have an online community just as good as MS's

I honestly do not understand why cows think Home is going to make PSN so much better than Xbox Live. You all brag about how the features are going to destroy Xbox Live. I'm not going to just go out an make stuff up, and honestly, I don't know a whole lot about Home, but I do know this: It's pretty much pointless. There is only one point I want to bring up and that is this: 3D is not better than Xbox Lives text based menus. First off, the menus are simple, if I want to see my achievements, takes about a second to get there and then I select the game I want; if I want to add a friend, it only takes as long to click on "Send Friend Request"; I could go on but I'm sure you get the point - the menus are easy to use and nothing takes more than a couple seconds to get too. And Secondly, the main point I wanted to bring up, I spend a very small amount of time in the menus compared to how much I'm actually playing games, maybe 1%, even if that much. If I had a PS3 with Home, I don't see that changing at all. I'm not going to walk around wasting time doing absolutely nothing when I could be enjoying a game. So with that in mind, what's so special about Home that t's going to make PSN amazingly better? I don't see the point of it, it improves online gameplay in no way at all. Have fun walking around in a little sim world while I'm playing games. Or perhaps you cows just bought a PS3 for a 3D version of myspace and not to play games.format_kid

I just like a simple starting point. even the crossbar with some extra functionality would have been fine for me.

yeah you have a virtual psp in home that will take you instantly to whereever you want if you dont want to walk. but you can also use all of the features of home from the xmb as well.

XBL is not a place to socialize with strangers, its a gaming service.  You seem to be knocking it for being a gaming service on a gaming machine.

nah thats ok i'll leave it like that,cause it's the truth. Chat programs are great for meeting other people but who wants to chat with people of the same sex? I don't use chat programs to holla at girls but somepeople have meet there wifes on chat programs and i can bet atleast 1 person will hook up with a girl from there neighborhood with Home. While XBL there be talking about owning and Halo 3. Home is appealing to the massmarket not just a select market like XBL.

honestly I met my best friend online in 1999...we played together online for like a year we were in a clan then we started calling eachother and we just grew into really good friends now I go out and visit him or and his family twice a year and stay for like a week or vice versa...and in my teenage years I was quite the virtual pimpster :) lol silly to think about now but it was fun for me back then(lets just say I was good at what I did and I still have somethings saved on my HD to prove it ;) ) but I hung it up awhile ago I was really serious into online gaming in my late teens early 20's '98-'02 but I am retired now

While XBL there be talking about owning and Halo 3. Home is appealing to the massmarket not just a select market like XBL.

honestly I met my best friend online in 1999...we played together online for like a year we were in a clan then we started calling eachother and we just grew into really good friends now I go out and visit him or and his family twice a year and stay for like a week or vice versa...and in my teenage years I was quite the virtual pimpster :) lol silly to think about now but it was fun for me back then(lets just say I was good at what I did and I still have somethings saved on my HD to prove it ;) ) but I hung it up awhile ago I was really serious into online gaming in my late teens early 20's '98-'02 but I am retired now
