[QUOTE="ParadiddleFill"][QUOTE="chaos-SD"][QUOTE="ParadiddleFill"]you still dont get what im trying to say who would pay an extra 600 dollars when they already have a pc that can play better virtual chatrooms like There and Second Life and yes these worlds are better due to the fact that you can create your own lands and iteams without paying for premade iteams. Not to mention Second Life has its own economy and real estate and actual virtual colleges where you can go te hear lectures.
chaos-SD
Your logic is flawed. One is not paying an EXTRA six hundred dollars for anything, they are paying $600 for a PS3. It DOES NOT matter if most people already own a PC. That PC had to be purchased at some point. PC's don't just come with houses, and they certainly don't appear out of thin air. Maybe your parents own one and you use it, but they had to pay for it, and at some point you will have to purchase one.
Â
the point is why pay extra money for a feature thats on the pc which everyone already owns. Its like whats the point of buying a jaguar for the the FM player when your Rolls Royce already come with XM
Â
youre right i cant prove home is better then second life because home isnt out. But you cant remove the fact that most people own pcs and use a hypothetically situation to prove a point. Because the fact of the matter is that there are a hell of alot more people who own pcs and there are very few people who own a ps3 in comparaison. You cant excuse that fact so the the question remains why spend an extra 600 dollars on a feature you already can get for freeÂ
xboxlive cost $50 (EVERY YEAR!!!) >>> your entire argument.

haha yes eveyone had to purchase a pc whats the point, that doesnt mean they should spend another 600 dollars for something they can get on there pcs.Â
I don't think you get it Second Life fanboy .Why would people interested in the ps3 care about Second Life ? Home is tailor made for ps3 owners and Second Life is for other people and other things not related to playstation or playstation fans.

Uh...who the hell cares? It's free.
Â
You don't see people whining about stupid **** like how the Everybody Votes Channel is a ripoff of Democracy. Plus, Home is more than just a 3D chatroom. Â
This is a virtual chatroom called There Its like home only not as graphically superior. But its alot better because it lets you create your own clothes, homes, businesses everything. Home is just a rippoff of these kind of virtual chatrooms like There and Second life. I dont see how sony fanboys think this can even compete with xbox live

So you don't think Home will be any good? That's not a ripoff. It's free and optional. Where's the ripoff? A ripoff is actually being forced to pay to play games online when the company providing it could very easily make it free for their customers. A ripoff is buying a system considered to be elite when the harddrive that makes it so "elite" is way overpriced. A ripoff is not some optional online community that is free. Â

It doesn't have to be new first of all to be a nice addition. And secondly , it is tailor made for playstation fans and it is free so why not get excited about it if it looks like something you want to participate in ? Some people will love it , others will like it , and some will not like it. Saying that it is nothing to get excited about is just opinion.ÂNobody cares about similar PC offerings that have nothing to do with playstation. Â
[QUOTE="shungokustasu"].I see. Wanna go Sigmund Freud on me? Fine then, Why do you play video games? VandalvideoDo you want me to go Sigmund Frued? I will. Video games themselves are a strong psychological stimulant that cause all kinds of chemicals to be released in the brain. Something like this could easily cause an artificial dependance. Tie that to something like a 3D enviroment and you can easily explain why WoW has become such a phenomenon. With the addition of simulated social interaction and the release of psychological stimulates, its a powerful "drug". This mental illness is known as IDA, and is traeted by the Center For Internet Addiction and Recovery. I play video games to have fun, but theres a fie night line between fun and addiction. CFIAR: http://netaddiction.com/ Well that was a nice little tangent.actual Frued was a psychoanalyitic psychologist. but anways good point.

lol. Exactly. Free is a ripoff where? No where. If Sony forced Home on its customers and attached a mandatory fee for Home then we could talk ripoff. Â
[QUOTE="dmaximum"]How can it be a ripoff if it's free? If you mean it being like another service, I have to ask are any of those on a console?
I would also like to know if you can chat virtually and then go right into a game with those you were chatting with, or watch a movie together, or invite them to your virtual home for a game of pool, or... ah nevermind.

I plan on buying a PS3 when home comes out, as do a lot of others I know. And people will still be buying PS3 after home comes out, and will download it and play, etc. So it isnt like it won't become big. It is more accessable to these people than Xbox live gold, because it is free. HOME incorperates a lot of things that second life doesn't, and almost(Becaus it is unproven) unifies the PSN.
[QUOTE="Grive"][QUOTE="JLuke360"]It's also free.JLuke360
So is second life. You only need to pay for extra stuff... much like in PSN Home, though i'm guessing home will let you have some land for your stuff.
