but medal of honor and homefront are not like call of duty. if anything bad company two should be the pinnacle of military shooters. and i used to adore cod until it became so popularized. cod plays like an over the top hollywood action/movie/game hybrid. it's ridiculous. i miss the wwII cods.

I'm positive most people here wouldn't even consider Arma a "shooter." Its much more of a sim with shooting elements.

About the kind of score I was expecting. A shame to hear about the extremely short campaign, though. I still have some interest, but I will not be considering it until later on down the road.

I watched someone play the game for nearly five hours. This game drew so much attention to OnLive. The guy I was spectating had 10 other spectators, 7 with mics and over 1,000 cheers. :o

Even some OnLive reps jumped in and we all just asked him questions about the service. :)

Looked liked another "Medal of Honor" deal where they try hard to imitate Call of Duty but don't do very well in doing it.Stevo_the_gamer

Which is exactly why I wasn't going to buy it, I had fun with MoH. But I just wasn't gonna buy another shooter or every shooter that looks remotely interesting to me :P

Was playing this last night (MP only). Cool game. The visuals, however, and leaps and bound below BO. I mean its not even close. The game was cool for what it was but I don't see myself putting 3-4 months in like I did with prior titles (BO, Reach, KZ2, etc.)..

I just wish the campaign was a little longer, I dislike how 5 hours is acceptable in this genre

Personally, I don't care how long it is. If it's good 5 hours, I'll play it through several times. But if it's bad campaign, even being 25 hours wouldn't save it.

Meh, it seens to me that the game is good.

Only problem, it is not called Call of Duty. Simply feels like that in their written review, so they detract 1 or 2 points from the game. What will be their excuse for CoD 8?

Uh, have it... played it... still subpar? CoD 4 looked good when it came out, but still pixelated even then. Since then the games have gotten progressively worse. This isn't because the games themselves are getting uglier, though they are in some ways, but because every other game that comes out looks better.

The worse thing about how bad CoD looks is that it doesn't do anything else better than anyone else either. The gunplay feels like a game from '95, the physics are non existent, and MP is incredibly laggy despite having tiny maps with a low player count. The series is laughable really.

"plays like COD", thats the problem, its got no originality (if thats true, I haven't played the game), and its copying a mediocre (yet popular) game formula.

The review comes across as way more positive than the score would lead you to believe. Its kind of funny, I'm definitely more interested in checking the game out now than I would have been had it scored higher and had a more negative review. Hope IGN manages to review more games like this in the future, truthfully, but with a good focus on the positives as well. I'll GamyFly it.

Yeah, kinda (actually Crysis 1 should be the benchmark, it looks the best still), and when you are trying to immerse someone in a plot or situation, if the games graphics aren't convincing, it can hurt immersion, so for a game who's strong point is allegedly plot, graphics should be impressive, and they are not from what I have seen.

Probably the most generic game i've ever seen. It's honesty looks like CoD and MAG had a baby.

Having watched some gameplay videos from mp on PC I have to say I cant wait for the game. It looks awesome. 3 more days though=(

I was hoping for a longer SP campaign. Oh well, I'll get it when the price goes down to atleast $40.....$30 even better.

But Onlive HAZ it four hours earlier! The game looked bad since it was annonced, dunno who was actually hyping it. When CoD comes out, 5hours long singple isn't big of a deal but when another game comes out with short singleplayer it gets a 7. CoD should be rated around 7-8 aswell.
