You think the mother****ing graphics are bad?
Please destroy your Wii.

Clearly you wont chance your mind so why bump this useless topic?
[QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"]:roll:Like any other game it has a fan base. But its made by Nintendo so it has a Nintendo fanbase.
Nintendo fans tend to take games and exaggerate how great they are. SSBB isn't even a AAA franchise. How its become so popular I'll never know. Its got mario, link, and metroid and its Nintendo's only fighting game. So its going to be their favorite fighting game of course.
Jandurin
It's one of the best franchises to start during the N64 days. Better than Goldeneye. I'd say better than OoT.
Well, I wouldn't go that far...:PIt's fast paced, lots stages that aren't just for looking pretty in the background, loads of items and unlockable features, online battles, co-op, target test, video mode and snapshots that are downloadable and sendable, stage builder also downloadable and sendable, great graphics, deep fighting (stringing together combo's with "simple" attacks), great new singleplayer mode and story, enhanced multiplayer, lots of great characters, and so on.
You might think the combat is simple but that's because you probably haven't played it long enough to get some advanced techniques learned that further enhance the experience and make it much deeper. Besides, the game requires you to think your moves and combo's out in sometimes split second situations making for some frantic and intense moments you can rarely find in other games.

I remember playing it on the N64. It was fun if you had four friends in the room. I wouldn't call it gods gift to gaming. I just hate how nintendo fanboys exaggerate just cause nintendo made ONE fighting game so it has to be the best one ever made? I mean thats how they talk its really ridiculous.
What about people who genuinley think it is more fun than any other fighting franchise? :I
I don't think they truly played any other franchise then.
*Face to Palm*
*Sigh* I have played so many 2-D fighters and other franchises and yet I still think Super Smash Bros. franchise stands out more....

Exactly. I find most other fighters pretty much the same anyway...
Down, side, down, side, up, X + O, R1, L1, triangle...
Seriously, that gets a bit annoying if it's in every game. It hurts the thumb as well after a while :P.
[QUOTE="HarlockJC"][QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"][QUOTE="prodiqy32"]top quality? made for casuals? the production values may be high (the music excluded going by most nintendo games) but gameplay? its not complicated at all. it is easy to learn. that is the problem. i admit i only had melee for a little more then a month but it was played. all my friends, guys and girls, would just jump around like flys, laugh a little, then after 20 min. put in something else. this is one of those games that i think people hype and pretend they love cause they feel they supposed to. like the lems with halo and cows with killzone.
but this game shouldnt be compared with games like VF. soul calibur, or dead or alive, or even capcoms 2D fighters. it doesnt have the depth, technology, or skill to back it up.

Be warned you will now be flamed for daring to say SSBB is not deep. I mean we all know its not. But teh fans....they'll show you videos of people jumping around...then hitting people off screen. And they'll be shocked your not impressed.
Tis the Smash Bros. cycle.
So you are saying that SSBB is for Nintendo fans
What Halo is for Xbox fans?
Calling Smash Bros. incredibly deep, the best fighter, or the best game ever makes you a fanboy. Enjoying a game moderatly without such nonsense makes you a gamer.
Criticizing someone because they state their opinion makes YOU a bigger fanboy...

SNK vs Capcom is not a Street Fighter game Rookie. If you knew your games you would realize that it does suck. What do graphics have to do with anything? Street Fighter is 2D and it still plays fine.
im starting to think it gets hyped because there isnt anything else to hype. and this isnt a fanboy thread on my end. mt fav fighters are snk vs capcom, tekken, virtua fighter, samurai showdown, and anything with the words street fighter in it. my point being that you can get these games on any system. i love powerstone, i wouldnt say its deep. i love capcom and street fighter. i wont claim them to be the best just because its capcom. and after reading some of these threads, you all say its because its got link or kirby.prodiqy32
Is a horrible game. Just accept it. It is a bad game. Capcom vs SNK is a good game but for you to say you like SNK vs Capcom and make fun of any other fighting game is just laughable. Quit now.

You still never answered to this picture either. I mean when you say SSB can't be compared to other major fighters and you see this pic.
What more can you say? Please explain to me why SSBM is at EVO along with SFIII, McV2, SFII, GG, VF5, Tekken and CvS2. Please tell me.
it's so fun
great gameplay, great characters, great levels .. battles get crazy
steeped in nostalgia
all Smash Bros to date has all this, but the latest takes things to another level
the new Sub Space Emissary, or whatever it's called, alone would be worth a purchase IMO
great nintendo characts, plus snake and sonic in an epic storyline = amazing
[QUOTE="notalkjustrock"]The single player portion of SSBB looks pretty great too. It seems like Pikachu and Samus team up for some reason? Reason enough to buy the game RIGHT THEREprodiqy32:roll: that was all you had to say.......lolol ludicrus.
You're showing your ignorance again. If you actually had followed news about Brawl you would know that the single-player (and 2P CO-OP) portion of SSBB, "The Subspace Emissary", is in fact the spiritual sequel to Kirby Super Star. It is very likely to be one of the finest 2D platformers ever made. This is in a completely different universe from SSBM's Adventure mode.
Also, the music for this game is just insane. If you care about game music at all you can't miss out on it - the combined talent of nearly every musician working in the Japanese games industry is represented. No game in history has ever had a soundtrack that even approaches the ambition, scope and quality seen in Brawl.

Usually Nintendo's developer comes out with very high quality games. It will be a disappointment if the game came out avarage.
Smash Bros was not a disappointment.

Im glad you posted that picture because it allows me to ask this. If SSBM does not have any depth at all then it wouldnt be a good game for tournament play then would it?
People that say smash brothers doesnt have depth dont know what they are talking about or are too angry that its rather difficult to learn all there is to know about smash brothers.

Now say it's not deep. Look how many options there are (even ignoring things like names, controls, options, etc.).
Nobody in this entire thread has a shred of credibility. You are trying to talk about a game you never played at its highest potential.

All these ignorant posters that say something similar to this simply HAVE NOT played the game. The fact is that Smash Bros. is so deep that you missed all the advanced techs in the videos you were watching.
To all of you who have a similar opinion to this misinformed ignorant poster quoted above, do your research before looking like a complete fool in the eyes of the intelligent.
Oh, I say! All I said was it was different and that I liked the series for it. That's all. Everyone's entitled to an opinion, and at least I gave my reason--credible enough. Apart from that, I just gave my conjecture on why it appeals to so many (and that's all--conjecture).Nobody in this entire thread has a shred of credibility. Sure, but if you look at Melee, it's still one of the most played games on the tournament scene and in people's living rooms. Brawl is basically Melee with every aspect souped-up exponentially. I think Brawl is going to eclipse Melee in every way, not just because the Wii userbase is going to be way bigger than the GC userbase, but the added features will blow Melee away.
You can argue forever about whether Smash has as much depth as other fighters.
What you cannot argue against is that Smash absolutely creams the other fighters when it comes to accessibility, variety, features, fan service and (in Brawl) singleplayer. None of your precious 'hardcore' fighters, from Tekken to Soulcalibur to whatever else you choose to play can stand up in these categories.
Because, unlike other 2D fighters, Smash is actually fun.HoffgodOther fighters are fun too :| http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeHdkNXTNAY

Some game has to be the best ever for some people, and it will be different for each.
I enjoy each and every game equally = someone who doesn't play games.
Yeah but it can't be coincidence that Smash Bros. fans think their game is the best ever. Cause it's the only fighting game they probably have ever played. Cause its the only one Nintendo has ever made.
I'm a hrdcore fighter fan and SSBM is my favorite fighting game (SF3 is a close second, maybe a tie). as for it being easy, see how long it takes for you to learn how to do this stuff every time.
