Decent, maybe if everything didnt skid for 5 minutes when you tried turning or braking it would be good

Bad at first.

Great when you get used to it.

The driving in gta is almost perfect, you name it and I can do it. Bootleg 180's without losing speed, two wheel driving, flips, e-brake cornering. Quti fighting the weight transfer and put it to work for you.

Put some practice time in and you will see how great it is.

[QUOTE="numba1234"]I think that the worst aspect (nah, almost all the aspects of gta4 flaws) are in its controllers/glitches but, one aspect struck out the most: driving. How come the physics in driving are so bad, it looks like in most cases you are going 5 mph, or when you go at 50 mph you have zero control of the turning, and takes around 10 seconds to brake. The controls are so bad that the SUV is basically unplayable, and some missions wHere you have to run away from cops are so difficult because of this. I'm basically hitting tree after tree, or lampost, building than wall, because of this. Nedemis

maybe playing the game like it's Burnout is where you're going wrong. They improved the driving in GTA4 so it was more life like compared to the previous GTA games. I suggest you try driving in GTA4 more closely to how you would drive in real life and then it will make sense.

well, you could argue whether it's fun or not. But please don't call is 'realistic'. yes, the cars seem to have some weight attached and swing left an right at turns, but pulling 360's after just a few feets of acceleration, dropping down from high buildings and landing on your wheels....id mention more but i think you get the point. It isnt realistic,,,the turns are pretty exagerated. You could argue whether it's fun or not....i think it is to a certain degree

Yeah I wouldn't call it realistic, but definately more realistic than previous GTAs.

try crashing into a wall you will stop faster

you say it takes around 10 seconds to stop from 50 or so. Well it does take time to stop in a car its called realism.

dont have any problem with the driving aspects presides the out of control hand brake

It's not "bad" so much as it is very realistic, which isn't what people want from GTA. They dont want to have to break in a straight line and then slowly glide in a wide arc around a corner. They want to skid around it at full speed.Ninja-Hippo

thats what bothers me about it, u hear people saying ITS REALISTIC YOU NOOB...but nothing about Grand Theft Auto is realistic other than the places they are trying to depict. Ive walked by a cop with a shotgun and not gotten asked about it, is that realistic? Since when did something being more realistic mean it was more fun...i liked going 200 mph and then being able to make a 90 degree turn without breaking...that was fun...the new driving isnt as much fun

The driving physics have been given more depth to facilitate a decent online race mode in my opinion. The handling from previous incarnations would have made for a very tedious race mode online I think.

I think it's fantastic, I'd go as far as saying it's the best arcade online racer, I much prefer it to Burnout etc. I can see how some dislike it though, they're just too used to super forgiving handling which usually ends up with them proclaiming the handling is 'bad'.
