[QUOTE="PS3Fanaddict"]it doesnt make any sense to "wait until E3"...is microsoft against early publicity or something? the most i see as maybe a "surprise", will be at MOST, 1 game. if anythinglawlessx

yeah..microsoft will announce ONE game for the rest of 09.

http://720games.blogspot.com/2009/01/microsoft-we-have-lot-planned-for-2009.html

"Yes, it's a big year for Halo fans starting with Halo Wars and then Halo 3: ODST, but if you look back at January 2008 when we started the year you'll see that as a company, our philosophy is that we try to under promise and over deliver," Greenberg told G4.

"We tend to save things until they're much closer to being ready to be brought to market, and I think that that is a little different than traditionally how this industry has worked."

He added: "Take the NXE for example. We showed it at E3 and a few months later we launched. We announced a lot of games at E3 that came at holiday - Lips, You're in the Movies, Scene It. We have a lot planned for 2009, but we absolutely have not shared what our line-up looks like."

They better live up to their words, or else lems will be angry.

i didnt say that, but if you think that microsoft is hiding there games as if they are a market leader, instead of ADVERTISING there games, like anyone trying to Get a Lead, then i dunno...

Lips, Scene It and You're in the Movies though? Let's be honest, that's really weak. I expect this years E3 will be much better though, it's supposed to be returning to it's former glory this year.

All good and well but 2008 was not exactly great for the Xbox. Halo Wars and an expansion to Halo 3 can't carry 2009.teh_cell

In terms of AAA for 360 in 2008, you are right. But the last sentence proves that not everything has been announced for 2009.

Yeah, they're probably working hard to make up for E3 08, lets hope E3 09 is like the older E3s.

that is most likely what they're trying to make up for at this year's E3. Things are bound to be leaked before E3 anyway so we might not even have to wait so long to find out what microsoft has planned.

well as a 360 owner im not worried in the least. and they have stated repeatedly that they plan on showing more at the E3 than they normally do. its only a few months away. im kind of overloaded with games at the moment but if they dont have anything for the end of the year its PS3 time. i plan on getting one eventually anyway.

While AAA counts, so does AA, according to SW rules, and there's sadly no AA rated ones this year for 360 yet by Gamespot, that sucks for them.

In terms of "hardcore" gamers, no that won't be enough. In terms of sales though, I can guarantee that those 2 games will sell a hell of a lot.

Do you people really want to know what I think ?? I'll tell you. E3 2009 MS is going to announce/official reveal like 12 titles including Alan Wake,Forza 3, LO2 etc. There also going to announce a huge update for XBL. Lemmings will be happy that there will be many great games going to come out but most will come out next year. Cows will laugh but 360 sales will still be really good. Although this year unlike the past years, the PS3 will sell more during the holiday season due to highly anticipated games like FF13 in Japan, GOW3, KZ2 etc. I just polished my crystal ball so it should work.

Nonstop-Madness, nice prediction, but there would be probably 5-10 games announced, I can't see 12. And Sony still has more exclusives, Year of the PS3 folks.

Exclusivity doesn't matter - people who already own a system are concerned about what games are coming to it - it doesn't matter if those games are "exclusive". That said, has Halo Wars been completely forgotten? Generally positive reviews (8.2 Meta) and over one million units sold? Whatever - the whole "SW fight" takes precedence over what gamers are actually playing sometimes. It always bothers me when the fights in SW don't reflect reality in the gaming scene.subrosian
Totally agree man. Cows act like there's nothing to play on the 360 and I got enough games to last me until at least the end of summer.

Given what Sony has announced isn't it kind of strage that Microsoft hasn't hit back? I mean you would think they would want to quickly put aside any thoughts people might have that they don't have much to offer this year. As it is silence.

So let me get this straight, the 360 has nothing coming on the exclusive front for months and what it does have isn't looking like AA/AAA material. It's pretty arrogant of them to just sit back and rely on multiplats given that a PS3 price cut could kill that strategy.

teh_cell

Are you sure 360 has nothing ? I count two PS3 RPG's coming and about 15 that 360 gets and PS3 does not

That makes 360 exclusive lineup a million times better for me

PS3 has almost nothing really for a RPG gamer like me

Given what Sony has announced isn't it kind of strage that Microsoft hasn't hit back? I mean you would think they would want to quickly put aside any thoughts people might have that they don't have much to offer this year. As it is silence.

It is kind of strange because MS knows that Sony has something/things new to show off and there not doing anything. MS must have something big or there just dropping the ball.

So far, it's already had GTA IV: TLAD, Race Pro and Halo Wars, all three of which are great games.

Nope, doesn't look too screwed up to me.

EDIT: Oh, and Star Ocean. Almost forgot about that one.

Nonstop-Madness, nice prediction, but there would be probably 5-10 games announced, I can't see 12. And Sony still has more exclusives, Year of the PS3 folks.

Nonstop-Madness
Im thinking 12 cause they might put in some cool new XBL Arcade games.

Oh yeah, almost forgot about those.

Since when has DLC counted? Race Pro sucks and Halo Wars as a RTS isn't going to be to as broad a taste as a FPS game

[QUOTE="CYB3R_N1GHTMARE"][QUOTE="def_mode"]

this is where Sony's strategy comes into effect, their long term plan.

DealRogers

Yeah it's working after all i mean there in last place and all.

If Microsoft doesn't show anything interesting soon and the PS3 gets a price cut somehow, you will see how Sony's long term plan takes place, I can assure you. But whatever like I care for Sony's profits.

What long term plan? It's the same every year. MS doesn't release much in the first half of the year, Sony releases a hyped title early in the year(last year was MGS4). MGS did roughly double PS3 sales for 2 months, but doubling the slowest sales months of the year amounts to a couple hundred thousand consoles. Sony always makes up a little bit of ground early in the year and MS more than makes up for it in Nov and Dec. With Halo 3 ODST and a couple other big titles MS should have a banner holiday season yet again, and cows who are saying this stuff now will look just as stupid as those who said it in early 07, and 08.

If he likes those games, then he likes those games. It wont help him in an argument but its hes opinion and thats what matters to him.

Once again, if this wouldn't be a yearly event, you'd think so.

Well I don't know (or care) what the general consensus on the admission of The Lost and Damned is but I've greatly enjoyed playing it since I picked it up on launch day in February. The same goes for Race Pro. I couldn't care less how people on System Wars view either of those games. I'm having fun with them and to me, that's all that matters. As for Halo Wars, I didn't buy it (yet) but what I've played of the demo was very enjoyable and while, as an RTS, it may not be as accessible as Halo 3, it has certainly proven to be marketable to a wide audience, since it has racked up over a million sales worldwide since its release.

Well since I've got both a PS3 and 360 it doesn't really matter much since I'll get the best of both systems. But '09 still has 9 mos. left last time I checked and I don't believe you're Nostradamus TC so I wonder how you can see the future and tell us MS has nothing else up their sleeves. Oh and why did you feel a need to basically re-hash one of your earlier topics by doing this one? I mean is it really neccessary? You can blog about this stuff ya' know.

Hmmm...looks kinda familiar.

I could have sworn that 2009 just began.
