Xenoblade did very well despite 2012 release. Officially we can only look at its high position and hold on NPD, but according to VGC it did 400k in NA.
The fact that Nintendo had X as its ace card in the Nintendo Direct Wii U Panic Mode Edition speaks volumes to me. They seem to be very pleased with the sales.Â

If that game sold 400k why are people expecting bayonetta to do those numbers or even 1 million? :|

Around 600k then? With the largest install base last gen and in a less niche genre.
No matter how good it is it will flop hard. Just like Madworld did.
This could hurt Platinum games for years if they were paying for it themselves. Instead Nintendo is throwing money away and P Games is wasting their time.
I think it will do something on the Wii U. It will, however, do nothing on the PC because the PC can't play it. :lol:Drasonak
Well of course not, no other system can play it. That's what an EXCLUSIVE is. I know you hate "neckbeards" but you gotta pick your right time to troll. Rather than just making yourself look like a moron.Â

Madworld was completely different, it wasn't on multiple systems and then a Wii exclusive for a sequel.Â
bayonetta was pretty well received in the gaming world, and P games are a business at the end of the day. They go where the guaranteed money is.Â
Then again I feel like I'm replying to a trollÂ

[QUOTE="DropsofJupiter"]It will sell a million or so copies worldwide. Which is respectable, and in line with the first game.Vatusus
1 million? on the WiiU alone?
I dont even think NSMB U sold a million yet, let alone Bayonetta 2 that barely break one million on 2 platforms with a way bigger install base
NSMB U has sold 2.1 million copies worldwide. Bayonetta 1 sold around 2 million worldwide. Bayonetta 2 will easily pull a million. Why is everyone assuming the Wii U's userbase is static? Nintendo will have sold more systems by the time this game releases you know.[QUOTE="Vatusus"][QUOTE="DropsofJupiter"]It will sell a million or so copies worldwide. For every day that passes you reach a new low.
Why don't you just stick to gaming and take a break from posting for awhile.

Considering how badly third party games sold on the Wii with it's massive user base, I can't see any third party games doing much on the Wii U at this point.JamDevDepends on WHAT third party games. A few actually sell on Nintendo consoles, but Bayo 2 won't be one of those few.

It's going to bomb spectacularly hard. But damnit, I'll be there to support it anyway.
GD1551
What's the precedence for this?
Did Xenoblade spectacularly bomb?
We are talking about a Nintendo published title. Every developer in Japan wishes Nintendo backed them up. Of course as I said I think it depends on the platform's health at the time of release.
How did Xenoblade do in NA? Also one of the biggest obsticles is Nintendo's audience itself, they are only interested in mario and zelda and will ignore the game.
Nintendo of America said it sold well also it supposedly sold better in North America than it did in Europe and Japan.[QUOTE="Pete-B"][QUOTE="DropsofJupiter"] But remember, there were actually more games to buy on Xbox 360 and PS3. It was a success, it sold more in a month in the US than Japan and Europe did in 10 weeks. And considering the game was exclusive to Gamestop and Nintendo's website it did very well.
Less than the original.
I want to personally get it, because in spite of the WiiU's many less flattering qualities I want to play specific games on the platform(Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, and Bayonetta 2 for starters, and of course Nintendo's other franchises assuming they continue to stay strong). I am however not looking forward to the idea of the system not having a price cut anytime soon.
I think it needs a price cut.

I'm not taking any guesses as to B2's success, but install base and software sales dont always line up the way you would think. Â For an extreme example, MGS2 sold 7 million with roughly 10 million PS2s on the market. Â MGS3 sold just over 3 million when there were over 100 million PS2s on the market. Â
There are plenty of examples just like that. Â Maybe Bayo2 will suffer due to a small install base. Â Or maybe it will thrive due to a limited library. Â No way to tell really.
I don't think it will sell well but I don't care. This game is one of three reasons why I want a WiiU. Too bad the system is overpriced.
Â
Â
It will flop due to bad control by the controller itself
although the campaign could be fun
Â
sale would be flopfest unless platinum game sneak out with new publisher and re-title it as Bayonetta 2X ... ala Code Veronica X
[QUOTE="BPoole96"]Well, theoretically, the first game could be released on Wii U over the eShop. On the other hand, Nintendo could just market the crap out of it and have it sell regardless of the series not having shown up on Nintendo hardware before (ala Dragon Quest IX) technically speaking people who normally buy nintendo consoles are probably multiplat gamers and may have bought bayo1. I'm pretty single console owners are rare nowadaysI think it will do poorly. I don't feel that many people who were fans of the first game are rushing out to buy Wii U's just to play it and the people who would normally buy a Nintendo console have not played it since the first one was not on Wii
DropsofJupiter
Hopefuly bad enough to be ported/mastered to ps3,360/ps4,720 , i mean it , i wanna play it dammit , i want it so bad.
But eh , my crystal ball tells me it won't do well , if the wii consumer base taste is anything to go by.
Bad... and I think everyone knows why I think that.nintendoboy16
can i take a guess...
""Cuz core gamerz dont appreciate core gamez on my beloved nintendo products, even though they try they are still dat kiddie system in da eyez of  gamerz and will never be taken super serial ""
how'd i do?
Who knows. Maybe by the time the game releases the Wii U will have sold much more units and perhaps there won't be much else still on the Wii U at the time of it's release, depending on when bayo 2 comes out in comparison to other Wii U titles.
I'm a bit skeptical but I won't count out the possibility of it doing decently sales-wise.

If that's how you see it...But what I was thinking of was the controversy around it the day it was announced.
