With games like Uncharted and Gears, I think the console are plenty powerful.WasdieDepends.
They actually arent that powerful at all, rather its the developers who have to be more resourceful.
By technical standards an xbox 360 is comparable to a low end gaming computer. Hell probably lower.
Not saying developers cant pull off some impressive feats, even Army of Two looks great.

I completely agree
[QUOTE="Head_of_games"]How do i feel? I don't care in the least because i own a Wii and consider great graphics to be a nice addition to a game. Have fun playing WOW for the next twelve hours.
Painballz
Wii!!?! Anyone who thinks WIi has great graphics is most likely blind, all I see in the Wii is a redesigned GC with wrist flicking controls
I never said Wii had the best graphics. It has the worst, and frankly that doesn't matter to me. I play games because they're fun, not because they have the best graphics. True, PC does have quite a few amazing games, and i'm fine with that too. It all depends on your preferences, I'm a hardcore Nintendo fan for instance, and the only place i'm going to find Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin, F-Zero, Pokemon, ect is on Wii and DS, so naturally they are the systems i own. I also think that the innovative controls have great potential to be unlocked, even if many developers don't use it currently, it believe they will eventually take a hint. Also, i like being able to play online without everyone cussing at me. Finaly, i like having games that anyone can jump into and play with me. Now, if i really liked the games they offered, enjoyed online communication, and considered great graphics to be a major bonus in a game, i would own a PC, 360, or PS3. Which of those three i would get (If not more than one) would again depend on my preferences, like how much i like playing with all of my Friends at once when they come to my house, of course the games i like, ect.
But if you ask me you should have a console because if you have three Friends over it's going to get tedious taking turns playing on your PC.

Yeah but again, with graphics like Uncharted and Gears, who cares about how powerful the console is? The games are that pretty and they are holding up quite well agianst PC games even on a high end system.

Really? Thats why people with 8800 from 06 still runs games high-maxed in REAL HD right?
Out dated in the computer world is: When something new comes out, not how long people use it. It can be 1% better, which makes it out dated So Basically, it could be out dated next week.

Yeah. I don't know about you but Gears of war on a 42" 720p TV looks pretty damn good, Uncharted even looks better. Games like GT5P also look stunning on a HDTV. The only game that really looks better on a PC is Crysis, and that requires a ton of money (at least 1000+) to run it smoothly on high settings.
If you ask me, i think the consoles are holding up quite well. Sure PCs may be exponentially more powerful by factors of 100s, but when you look at a game like Uncharted or Gears on a HDTV in real life, the graphics look damn fine.

Sure, but have you seen it on a HDTV? It looks nearly as good as a $1000 PC. I will take that for $400.

Well to be honest they no longer hold up well to high end systems, thanks to games like Crysis and World in Conflict - by technical standards, but visually, as I said, yup games can still look a treat, just in a different way to PC games.[QUOTE="Wasdie"][QUOTE="Painballz"][QUOTE="Cedmln"]I'm sorry but that card does not run Crysis on max everything. Again. I am just throwing technical specs aside. I am not saying that the 360 is more powerful blah blah blah. Im saying when I compared CoD 4 on a HDTV to CoD 4 on my PC, I say CoD 4 looked damn good. Who cares about how powerful the console is compared to the PC. Well I did play through half of COD4 on 360, on my 32" HD TV, and seriously.... It doesent look anywhere near as good as it does on my PC.Hell even I was really shocked when I bought the PC version, with how much sharper, and how much more detail there was.
It doesent look bad on consoles, far from it.... But it looks a world better on pc.

Well from my experiances with all of those games you have mentioned, yes the PC is more powerful and more technically advanced. Sure those games look stunning. But in all honesty they don't look that much better than the leading console games.
I used to compare games on more techincal levels, but now I just look at the final product.

It does look better on a PC, but all things considered it looks damn good on a console and runs very well. Unless you own a high end gaming PC, you really aren't missing out on much if you are playing the multiplats.
I play on my medium high end system, and games like CoD 4 look amazing. I love my PC, but I just don't think consoles are given enough credit. They are already pulling off some amazing graphics with rather outdated hardware.
Sure Crysis look amazing but it kills my rig. Uncharted looks almost as damn good and it runs on how oudated hardware?

I look at the final product too....I mean I play Crysis and it looks a universe better than what is offered on consoles - visually..... Its just that good.... And World in Conflict let alone other games looks worlds better than what are on consoles..... visually.....
But that doesent stop console games from looking stunning, as I said even console exclusive titles like Army of Two really made am impression on me a couple of times, at how great it looked. But that still doesent stop a game like Crysis from looking worlds better than it.
Its just two very different types of visual standards really. Consoles and PCs really cant be categorised together in such visual comparisons in many instances.

Indeed consoles are pulling off some amazing visuals with outdated hardware, I coudlent agree more, problem is you get a PC with hardaware similar and the same games, it runs them exactly the same. You dont even need a medium end gaming PC to get similar visuals.Though I cant say Uncharted looks as good as Crysis. Ive played Uncharted on a 36" HDTV (cousins), and even Crysis on my 32" HDTV does look much better, even though Uncharted looks wonderful. Big difference is Uncharted pulls off alot of visual tricks to manage hardware limitations, wheras a game like Crysis goes full boar without having hardware restrictions.
This is what I mean by a different visual standard, and how console games still look fantastic in their own right.
Uncharted looks like this?
Painballz
How many PC gamers can play at those settings? Not me, and I blew $1500 on my computer. But for $400 you can get Uncharted. I know Crysis looks worlds better, but you make it out to be that consoles can't produce good graphcis at all.

Well not entirely.... HD visuals are delivered primarily by the GPU and video memory - it produces the visual you see- thus 'HD visuals'. THough yes you do need every other hardware component to run the game.Opinion and opinion.

They last on the cutting edge longer than that, real product cycles can be over a year. Even so does your video card suddenly stop running games at 120fps at 1080p when its successor comes out?
But its not really about that anyway, there are plenty of games console-only gamers will never be able to try and PC players will have the same problem not owning certain consoles.
How come PS3 can run Assasin's Creed with that Geforce and I cant with the same one (Well I can't max it nor medium only low)... And the Ps3 has what 512 ram, and on Pc I need like 6X that... I really don't get it.haris12121212Oh god, not this again. The reason is because the dev sucked at porting it. It is very poorly optimized. I mean just look at Crysis if you want proof.
