PS3 is outselling X360 in most European countries- by a substantial margin in places.

so how IS PS3 doing so well?

with the lower pricepoint & superior library of games the Xbox360 SHOULD have Europe in lockedown.

is BluRay a factor?

is console reliability a factor?

are many Europeans loyal to the Playstation brand?

Maybe cause 360 games don't appeal to us, i hate the way 360 owners from NA have an attitude that if they like it we will, we just prefer PS, it's simple

PS3 is a good, not great system. It has the hardware, but it has an average library right now, but that should change in Fall.

It is a combination of things sir. If I had to pick one however, i'd have to go with the hardware quality. You see here, we will throw money at problems to fix it. There, people don't necessarily have the luxury. And while this can explain what has been keeping 360 sales down, it doesn't explain why PS3 sales there continue to increase at a steady pace. That explanation, i'm afraid, is a mystery to me.

However, think of it this way. If PS3 sales have been doing this well internationally without a major-flagship must own game under its belt, imagine how the PS3 will do when it does have it/them??

Yea i didn't mean all NA 360 owners, it's just whatever games people like it's their opinion, 360 doesn't get F1, tekken, resistance and many other games that is popular here in europe so thats maybe why aswell

I don't know what people are smoking but the PS3 is cheaper at least here in Canada.

Xbox360= $399, $60 for Xbox Live, $30 for controller charger. this equals $490.( I won't include the HD-DVD player or the wireless adapter which both are $100.)

PS3 40GB $399, PS3 80GB $499.

Clearly the PS3 40GB is $90 cheaper.

I don't know i can't speak for them or anyone else but i think that we just prefer PS games judging by sales here but you can't speak for all of europe as europe is not 1 country, also for near future games aswell as current ones, i think the ps3 library can improve even more but i know it will in time and since christmas it has improved a good bit

Europeans do not like the same types of games that Americans do. They are not all on the shooter bandwagon. When most of the AAA games on the 360 are shooters, many Europeans look the other way.

Europe as a whole. Big pc market? What else do we know of Europe as a whole?

And x360 doesn't have the future in a lock down so i don't see how it should have Europe in a lockdown.

HDMI cable $4, dualshock, not necessary, and even with all 3 u listed it would probably still be cheaper

You have been misled, 360 buyers are in fact allowed to leave the store without buying a recharger. The PS3 is not $90 cheaper.

Look at it this way, the PS3 is stock, the 360 has options. To bring the 360 to the PS3 level it will cost more (wireless NIC, rechargerable battary) I'm not even gonna use Blu-Ray.

40gb PS3 = $399......360 Pro is $349 + $50 Live Gold Account = $399

80gb PS3 = $499......360 Elite is $449 + $50 Live Gold Account = $499

Most 360 gamers have a Gold account so dont even front like you dont. So yes, the 360 dose cost more to bring it up to the PS3 level

Why is that? I'm not in the business of selling game systems. So why should I care what strategy sells in Europe? That's up to Sony Execs, and what they are doing obviously works for Europe. And no one on here can answer the question, not Americans, not even Europeans themselves. So why worry about it?

Microsoft, that's why.SOedipus

Man F Micro$oft, Look at the PC world, they wanna own everything. Microsoft Office is basically the only thing out there, The government made Microsoft give Macintosh money so Microsoft would not be a monopoly (this is a fact, go look it up). Microsoft just rapes you all over, why do people call it M$, not because its a cool looking "S". They took it all the way down to the console, the 360 is garbage and Microsoft is still trying to corner the market.......dont get me started, I can go on for days about Micro$oft!!!!

I don't watch national geographic period. I bet more people DONT watch NG than do. Because they don't care? Like how people dont care why something sells in another continent? I bet the Japanese think America is weird for being attached to the 360. But who cares?

Stop trying to make this relevant. Why do other countries love soccer? Why does America love football? It's another f*ing country they operate differently. That's all there is to it

the thirst for knowledge is what allowed the human being to evolve... i just hope you know that

Maybe cause 360 games don't appeal to us, i hate the way 360 owners from NA have an attitude that if they like it we will, we just prefer PS, it's simple

you pretty summed up lemmings but not all x360 gamers here in NA

Yea i didn't mean all NA 360 owners, it's just whatever games people like it's their opinion, 360 doesn't get F1, tekken, resistance and many other games that is popular here in europe so thats maybe why aswell

I can see F1 for sure, but why would Resistence appeal to someone in France more than Halo 3 or Bioshock?

Because Halo3 and Bioshock is on a system that breaks too often... i have a feeling Europeans are less tolerant of this than Americans. Also Playstation is a very strong brand over there, and for some reason Singstar is a rediculous hit there too. Its sold like 7 million units or something crazy like that. I think their tastes are more towards sony type games, less first person shooters too.

lol what happens in a few hours when your controler dies go back to the store to get it. come on now how the heck are you trying to kid.dsmccracken

My energizer rechargeables (which I owned pre-360) save me hundreds in batteries every year, and not just on my 360.

so how much is the charge you have. batteries need something to charge with. so either you buy the charge kit or anythere charge kit.

The reason why the PS3 is doing so well over there is because M$ is an american company. The people over seas dont F with us like that

More stylish, more traditional, overall more european and less american. Plus, the PS2 was a giant success in europe because it had more than just american football games. Europeans want soccer games, and playstation has offered just that every generation.

Europeans do not like the same types of games that Americans do. They are not all on the shooter bandwagon. When most of the AAA games on the 360 are shooters, many Europeans look the other way.Wasdie

Isnt every AAA game on the PS3 on the 360 as well.
