3 games? Milking? No.
You want milk? George Lucas has squeezed every ounce possible out of Star Wars. Thats all he does.
halo 2 was enough to know that the series was genericRigga911People saying generic in their posts tend to be generic replies.
[QUOTE="Chaos_HL21"][QUOTE="L_Samax"]What is Halo Zero?L_Samax
It a Free Halo side-scrolling shooter game. I also don't see the reason to count Map pack and Ports. Right now there is just Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo: ODST, Halo wars. Halo: Chronicles had been missing in action.
That isn't that bad.
exactly mario, sonic, madden, dynaty warriors, final fantasy, metal gear solid these games have been milked more then anything else It's not milking when they make a quality title, and I'm looking at MGS here.Don't forget Indiana Jones i watched last summer as one of my favorite iconic heroes got raped!3 games? Milking? No.

Who thinks Halo will go overboard with additions?
Who thinks Halo will needs as many additions as they can make? There is already: Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 2 Map pack, Halo Triple Pack, Halo 3, Halo Zero, and Halo: Custom Edition. They are already planning on Halo Wars, Halo: Chronicles, and Halo 3: Recon.

You're going to use fangames and map packs to increase your list?
Halo is a fantastic world with a large string of stories that can be told. Like Star Wars, it can be told in different ways and perspectives. I say they can make as many Halo games as they want as long as they're fresh, and quality games. Halo is still young, as old as it is, and the millions of fans don't just want it to fade away. There's more to be told, and there's so many interesting perspectives (Halo: ODST, Halo Wars, Halo: Chronicles) that bring new interest to the franchise.
[QUOTE="comstrikeiscool"][QUOTE="TheAnnihilation"]One day sales mean nothing. Take sales over an item's entire life how about. As you may have comprehended, Halo is prosperous to a high level. Apart from Halo 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV, no game has hammered Halo 2's day-one sales record, $125 million. For what reason would they stop?
krp008
Halo 2 sold about 7-8 million (guessing) in its lifetime on the Xbox with only 20 million Xbox's sold... Thats pretty amazing seeing how the PS2 struggled to sell that much of one title and the PS2 was owned by nearly 80 million customers
But the highest selling game last generation was Pokémon Ruby and Saphire!

no it isn't as bad as the TC is making it. u really can't make map packs as a halo. it is just content, if u can then the PC has a lot of milkage because of all of the great mods out there.
[QUOTE="Shafftehr"][QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"] At least the Final Fantasy games are different.L_SamaxI'd argue the biggest difference between most FF games is how feminine the main character looks - the stories certainly don't change much. What's really odd is that FFXIII's main character doesn't top the femininity chart...exactly ever since 7 they made all the main characters look like que#rs
UHmmm...since 7? You ever see the concept/character sketches for the older games? NOt exactly the crew from Gears in those games either. They just didn't have the console power in the NES and SNES days to properly render their vision.

It's never happened. But it happens every time MS comes out, walks on stage, says "Halo" and then drops the mic on the floor and leaves. Lemmings declare E3 or whatever over, and MS won, and then gen is over for the competition.
I can understand hyping a game once we've SEEN it, but I've never in my life seen such an extreme fanboy reaction based on just announcing a release date, or showing a fake Halo Tattoo on an MS execs arm.
Why are you including map packs, the triple pack, The PC version as a different game, and a game that wasn't made by Bungie or M$? There is only 3 Halo games out right now, I don't see the problem. There are 12 Final Fantasy's with out counting the spin offs and the remakes if were going to count those.Halo is massively popular and there is def no shortage of games in the series for fans to enjoy. Wow. You really have some strong feelings about Halo... When Twilight Princess was announced in magazines and websites WITHOUT any gameplay footage/pics people were freaking out. I'm sure you remember that. But I agree that Halo is wildly popular and people act a bit retarded about the whole thing...but I think Sony fanboys tend to get way bent out of shape about it. EDIT ( shhh, not really ) Opps, I forgot, KZ2 in coming so umm forget that theory. Don't jump cows, I think KZ2 will score well. :)
Seriously, Halo is far, far from milked as the series has seen nothing but AAA's so, Just sayin. :P
1. At this point halo is pretty much the least milked franchise out there. It takes bungie 3 years to make a new iteration every time, and even though there's also map packs, these usually go free after half a year or so.
2. No one's complaining about too many FF's or too many COD's too much, so halo is save for some time.
3. As long as bungie or another studios put some serious time into every new halo game, and make it a quality game, there's really no "too much" of it.

I couldnt agree with you more. Unfortunately this is where good series go downhill and start to fail because after spin 38742387 it seems to lose its luster and appeal.
It all depends on the person's taste! I for one don't want to play ODST. Why? Simply 'cause it looks like Halo 3, that's not a bad thing, but, I already had enough of Halo 3. Halo Wars on the other hand brings a new genre to the table, wether it's succesful or not, it's a new genre, it's not the same old generic crap. I'm going for Halo Wars instead of ODST. Though don't expect Halo Kart or Paper Halo or anything.[QUOTE="Ragnarok1051"][QUOTE="Solid_Max13"]How many Final Fantasy's are enough? How many Metal Gears are enough? You don't count Map Packs to the equation. They have only made 5 Halo games , 3 that are out now , 1 that is being made as an expansion( such as what Rockstar is doing with GTA) , and the other is another game studio all together from bungie. So, compared to other franchises, Halo is still somewhat young.Halo is massively popular and there is def no shortage of games in the series for fans to enjoy. Halo 1 was a very enjoyable game for me on the PC and I did play it considerably since it was basically the start of online gaming for me (I just wasn't experienced enough to have a crack at Quake III but I could appreciate the reason behind it's popularity, but I prefered offline play tbh)
Then there was Halo 2... It was the reason I bought the first one, because I was considering purchasing it but it was only for the xbox, which in my eyes was a trashy system. So I didn't buy it, but I did get it free with a PC some time ago and all I can say is boy... it is just awful compared to the first.
Next is Halo 3, it's a solid game that just doesn't appeal to my taste, but it seems to go for everything that I thought Halo didn't stand for; closed in environments even when outdoors, an excessive amount of weapons and a bunch of equipment pickups that just throw the ballance of combat into clumsiness. No battles that really tested any complicated strategies besides drive in circles until the numb AI managed to crack a weak spot (letting them drive is simply out of the question). I didn't ever feel like cinematography had been used effectively and to top it off, most of the levels in the game were beyond questionable when it comes to design choices.
The Halo expansion pack had better drastically change the gameplay or I wont enjoy it. You see I feel that the previous games relied to much on strategy over skill (besides the fact that the second two were some how even more linear). I never liked the idea of a quiet assault rifle that couldn't be aimed, or a sniper rifle with tracer rounds, and enemies that use their armour as an excuse to act predictably numb.
Halo Wars may be good, but I will remain apprehensive.
Summary: 1 Halo/halo 1 is enough
How many Final Fantasy's are enough? How many Metal Gears are enough? How many Guitar Heros are enough? It's all profit uinfournatly, if the game has profit and sells they'll milk it till the day it dies.Solid_Max13Spot on. Glad to see it was posted so early on.
I actually like how they are doing it differently with ODST. Halo 2 and Halo 3 were so horrible... nothing could beat the first and the only reason both of those were a success was because of the first. I swear, if Halo 4 has dumb and ignorant success like 2 and 3, I'm going to shoot myself because the developers are just milking the money rather than caring about the gameplay. I know tons of people that own Xbox 360s who all admit Halo 3 was just flat out garbage and are still in wonderment at the reviews and sales Halo 3 generated.
And Halo Wars will be alright, but Star Craft 2 is on the horizon, and we know RTS's on consoles just never work.T
They should just seriously end it already... do something else instead...
At least Mario/Zelda and the Metal Gear series actually release good, maybe even great games from time to time.

Really
This thread was just a cheap cow attempt to bash Halo and it failed
Halo has 3 freaking games and 1 full game and 1 expansion on the way
How is that milking
You want milking go look at mario, madden, final fantasy, metal gear solid and dynasty warriors
those franchises were milked to the core
