i will get the ms and sony consoles for sure (along with pc upgrades), as far as N goes i will wait and see.
also things could happen that i don't know about, onlive may be cool and who knows if dell or apple or some other dark horse could come along and make something that interests me.
I'll have to see the cost of each system, and more importantly the game and features of the console. When Wii2, xbox 720, and ps4 come out im switching to sony. i have a wii now, but it doesn't seem to have my type of games. How bout you?

i'll just get whatever but i'll probably get sony's console first considering its got a decent price and this gen doesnt just finish abruptly and i can survive off a load of games from this gen to tide me for a year and a bit till i decide to take a plunge.
but probably by then i'll be at uni,in a job, or touring (hopefully if i ever get a band off the ground apart from local gigs nd that), or in the RAF xD then i would have no time for games lol.
Nah I have a PS3 and soon a Wii, and next gen the same will PROBABLY happen. PC will be upgraded whenever needed. Diablo III :).
I think i'll stop gaming, this gen in general has been quite bad for me, i don't think i'll care much about gaming by the time the next comes along
Well a lot is going to depend on the prices, but I will probably end up owning all 3 like I did this generation. The only one I am iffy about is the Wii2, if it's not in HD then it's not for me.
Either that or I will just return to PC gaming exclusively.
Well, since I'm an actual passionate gamer and not an internet fanboy, I own all current gen systems and will continue to purchase and support all platforms. Sorry if you're 15 or something and can't afford multiple systems

 I love those pointless jibes at folk who don't own all systems. Why even bother to post that sort of thing?
Anyway, it probably depends on the price but I'll pick between Sony and MS, and just stick with the one console. I never saw the point in shelling out several hundred pounds/dollars for an extra console because it has a handful of exclusives that your other console doesn't have.
Maybe I'm just not an "actual passionate gamer"

So that makes you, what? Sixteen with a part-time job (or no job and simply had your parents buy you your consoles), no responsibilities and too much free time? Because most people will *never* get their money's worth out of owning multiple consoles (and I say this as someone who does own all three).
I'll stick with Sony and Ninty unless Microsoft does something really spectacular. I just don't see that happening.
Sony are the safest option judging by the course of this gen. I'm 98% likely to get the 720 unless MS completely pull a Nintendo. I think they'll keep a good balance. If I go with Nintendo again it'll probably be the tertiary option just as the Wii is for me currently. Whatever I go for, no ****ing launch models.
I will likely stick with MS because I expect the pc to fall even farther in the next few years as more pc exclusives are designed around laptops and online play.
If games like Fallout Vegas and the next Deus Ex were built around the pc I would go back but.....they aren't.
the last time i "switched" consoles was from the Genesis to the Playstation, and that was largely because the Saturn cost more and was a disappointment at the time
otherwise i've been a PC gamer since 1992, and i own all 3 consoles this gen (i liked all 3 consoles last gen as well)
so brand loyalty has about as much consequence to me as toothbrush brand loyalty
This generation I prefer the PS3 with the Wii followed behind. Why do I prefer those two consoles over the Xbox 360? simply because I find their library of games most intriguing. Now when next-gen comes around, I guess my main driving force will lead towards the console that looks the most intriguing and has the most interesting lineup of games. If I was a fanboy, I would blatantly say I would go with the PS4 and Wii 2.0 - but I'm not - because I can't decide yet because I know literally nothing about any of the big three's future consoles yet. Anything can happen from now till the day the consoles are released, and it's not something I could possibly decide right now.
The two biggest factors for me are the pricetag and (mainly exclusive) games. All 3 consoles this gen have great exclusives, so it could go either way for me next gen. I would never buy consoles at launch because of the limited selection of games and the introduction of different SKUs this gen with the exception being the Wii.

Switching? You mean that there are some sad souls out there that only buy one console every generation? :o
Sony has around 20 first party studios so, PS4 for sure! No matter what you know that there will be games and my second console? It all depend if Sega makes a comeback or not cus it'll be between Wii2 or Dreamcast 2.
Peole that has PS3 and X360 just like to wastes money cus both consoles are basically the same and I predict that next gen will be the same.

Can you not be happy only owning one console? If you're an informed consumer I'm pretty sure you'd be capable of picking out one console that will give you the most bang for your buck, and I'm sure lots of people here do that. If you want more systems that's fine, but there's more than enough games on any one system to satisfy someone. Please Log In to post.
