How On EARTH is Mr.Miyamoto going to appeal to HardCore gamers with the Wii?

Reading posts about him working on the 'pointer device' and 'interface' to appeal to hardcore gamers?

those Hard Core gamers, the ones who refuse to touch a wii, simply because its just mini games and not epic, games.

i cant see anyone who loves and worships the fps on xbox moving to the wii. its highly unlikely.

like wise with ps3.

there are hardcore games for the wii but lately all is casual...moving alot of hardcore gamers to the 360.

Also do you see the extension port on the bottom of the Wii remote? That can lead to countless possibilities which will ensnare the 'hardcore' gamer. That said I would be deemed as 'hardcore' (although I never use the label) and I am perfectly satisfied with the direction of the Wii at present.

I am a hardcore RPG and FPS guy. And Nin doesnt have anything that interest me.

I'm a hardcore PC gamer and the Wii interested me. I got my wii already and its pretty much making me play it more than my PC. Zelda, RE4 for the cube. (I was never into consoles until Wii got me interested)lordlors

Well, your idea of a hardcore gamer and my idea is very different. You think that a hardcore gamer is one that wants lots of FPS and lots of sports games. Mine is somebody like me, who wants all kinds of games, such as platformers, RPGs, FPS, puzzlers, and more, and won't be afraid to try new things, and isn't afraid to go back to older games (like the ones on the Wii's Virtual Console). That's why I am getting a Wiit60, so that I can have a very wide variety of games to play. That explains why the most expected titles on PS3 are MGS4 and FF13, even Kojima outright says that he does have one competitor almost automatically naming FF13. Then again maybe some of those players have not accompanied those franchises since they were born and could not fall into that category. Well I do and either way I'm not tired of them.

Quite frankly, I'm much more interested in what the Wii could bring to the market then any of the other consoles are doing wich is preatty much trying to create something that has been out on the market for a long long time wich is a PC. There are many valid points for that too and only a blind person can't see them.

If Wii was not out at this moment in the console race imo it would be extremely boring and uninteresting on what this particular gen could offer in the future and at this point in time as well. Right now imo the only problem standing in the way of Nintendo and the biggest problem gamers had in general with the last Nintendo consoles was its 3rd party support and its a little early to be jumping on the gun on this subject since I have been reading from numerous sites (other then gamespot) where developers announce day in day out that they are starting to work on multiple projects for the Wii. Now we will have to wait and see if E3 will actually prove this. 

O yea.... because the entire game libary is made up of "mini game" type games, and it has such titles as Wario ware, Cooking mama, Elibits, Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2, Wii play, Wii sports, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Super Monkey ball, Wii Fly..... and I am sure there are more :roll: yea that REALLY screams hardcore /sarcasam :roll:

And then take a look @ the systems top rated games :

That article will tell you right there, that even Miyamoto knows that 3rd party games = weak sauce on the Wii, and he wants it to change, but why should ? or would they ? they already know that they got a good thing going ! put out a crap game on the wii that took 6 months to put together, and then sit back and watch the sales roll in, and in the mean time sheep on these boards claim that these games are "fun". yea.....

Congratulations you just named all of the mini games available on the Wii in that list and some that aren't even mini games. Not to mention that you missed a truck full of games that aren't comprised of those.

In any case if you can't even slightly enjoy some of the games in that list then thats your problem. I can be a dedicated gamer (Hardcore gamer) and still enjoy some of those games, hell Jeff did but then again you're probably more hardcore then me and him combined for completely baseless reasons.

Seriously. I applaud their looking into the mass audience and a wider demographic. But the Wii as it stands doesn't cater to the hardcore demographic.

If Metroid and Zelda weren't enough to get 'hardcore gamers' to own a Gamecube, it won't get them to own a Wii.  

I think hardcore gamers take themselves way too seriously.  It's like:

"Hi, I'm a hardcore gamer.  I've blown off 200 people's faces off with a shotgun, killed 1000 zombies with a chainsaw, beaten 69 prositutes to death with a baseball bat, destroyed several dozen mechs, imploded 1,000,000 alien invaders and blown up their entire invading army."

I know, it is rather hilarous. I have been gaming for around 13 years and I will never call myself 'hardcore'. Once you begin to label yourself you cut-off gaming experiences and enforce stereotypes. Those who call themselves 'hardcore' use their spare time, and their money, wastefully.

"Hardcore" gamers are running with the Wii60.  Just so you know.  Not that "hardcore" gamers who only own a Wii are going to be left out in the cold.  Seems to be at least three "hardcore" games coming out for the Wii within a year.  If they score well or not is another matter.RahnAetas

Wii60 basically means you play hardcore games on your 360, and then when you wanna play a mini game or a family friendly game you play on the wii, you know like when your grandma comes over :lol:  so you can see who can prepare a meal the fastest in cooking mama LMAO !
