One thing is certain, should a game hit AAAA it will be a feeding frenzy here in SW. Fanboys will rip the game apart and expose every possible weakpoint.

This new system is less generous honestly. They aren't reviewed on what makes the game, it's just given some random number that the reviewer thinks is fitting. At least with the old system, you could see how it got the score with the "gameplay....8" and all that stuff. Now it's just a few emblems and that's about it.

You guys have to remember for a game to get 10, it has to be at least 9.8 on Gamespot, and that's extremely difficult to get here. I can't remember the last time a game got that. MP/Halo got close, but they would have got 9.5 on the new system.

I really doubt we're going to see an AAAA from Gamespot any time soon. They're still the same reviewers, just with a new rating system.

When gamespot rates a game on the PC shouldn't the standards be the same if lets say they were rating it for the wii?????- maybe thecontrols/gameplay (wii, and console controllers, mouse+kb are all diff control sets) .

Umm, metal gear solid 4 is 2008, and not 2007. You said this year, so a nintendo option would probably suit more *but we all know theres not 1 nintendo game that will probably be AAAA*hazuki

I disagree with people who believe that a game has to be 'perfect' to achieve a 10.

I just think if a game is clearly at the top of the tree - ahead of the competition, best of the best type thing - it should achieve a 10 in the confines of this 1-10 rating system.

Maybe because Galaxy has changed a lot from the previous two 3D games. Anyone who remembers playing Zelda or Super Mario 64 would agree that those two games were extremely innovative and changed platformers and action adventure games for the good. Personally I disliked Super Mario Sunshine because it played a lot like SM64 in certain ways, but the cleaning thing was annoying and overall the game was pretty boring. The exact opposite can be said for the first time I picked up and played and still do play Super Mario 64. The game was fresh, original, somewhat challengingand loads of fun. Sure the gameplay is pretty generic by today's standards but I still love that game because it is fun. Galaxy I am hoping is going to be much like that experience, something new and promising instead of a rehashing like what happened with Sunshine. The same logic I would also apply to the Metroid Prime series, the first game was great but lacked a story development method that was not tedious, because the scanning sucked imo. Echoes changed that and it was more story driven and the gameplay was still just as good, with some slight tweaks and improvements. So now Corruption is going to play differently, hopefully on a much faster pace then the previous two games and will still have a proper story that is driven the way games should have.

I know that lotsof sheep arehyping Galaxy to be AAA, but won't the wii's graphical power keep it from getting that coveted 10 in the graphics department? 10 in gameplay is probably for sure tho...hellfire9988

If Gamespot gave Gears of War a 9.6, with how boring the game was and thesingle player campaignbeingabout as short as The Darkness, I think the PC version has a shot at a 10. Not saying its good, but hey THPS3 got a 10 so who says a game needs to be great to get a 10?

Then there shouldn't be a 10 rating if there is no perfect game.The maximum rating can be achieved. OoT was so good for it's time loads of critics just gave it 10's here and there, hence why it's no.1 on GR and will be for decades due to the standards increasing. And i do believe there will be a 10 rated game by gamespot...THIS YEAR.

I put MGS4, and Bioshock as seperate because they are being hyped the most (other than Halo). And I know gears is not exclusive.
