Huge layoffs about to hit MS...Xbox Team Included

This is why I still boycott the TV show "The Amazing Race".

I believe that TV show is way to racy for TV, not to mention it openly supports racism...based on the title (which is when I turn the channel).

lol now all of a sudden layoffs mean something to sheens.

As much as I'm a cow, I won't support any layoffs to any brand, this sucks people have to find new careers and new jobs it's not cool even posting this kinda makes me feel a little upset, support the console war but when layoffs happen it isn't cool.

That reminds me that I need to start running again. If only it wasn't so damn hot

I feel bad for all those people losing their jobs, even though I don't own an Xbox.

To be fair I don't think the Xbox division itself will be the hardest hit, it's the ex-Nokia employees that are going to be raped the hardest.

The ex-Nokia division is totally fucked, I really don't see it being around that much longer with the fail that is Windows Mobile, they though that would add some value to their other lines like Xbox but people are simply not buying it. Their online services like Bing are a failure, Windows 8 is a failure, I can't see Office being around for that much longer, at least not in the price bracket they are aiming at.

They need to do something.

Layoff for Nokia employees which they just acquired, engineering and marketing groups. Not surprising when you have over 127K employees. lol!! They'll save millions with these layoffs, while still making billions every year. I could see this being an issue if they were actually losing money every quarter, but that's not the case. Seems they are restructuring and preparing for greater products to come.

It's what they do best. Larry taught them well. ;)

This has nothing to do with Xbox outside of a few marketing people being let go who are likely just being replaced by some of Nokia's marketing people.

More like cows not knowing the difference between acquiring a company and getting rid of redundant jobs and selling off buildings AND laying off to keep your company afloat.

I don't think they are suffering at all. They aren't selling any buildings, stocks of divisions just to stay in business like Sony has been doing. Even though they didn't market the system properly, they are still the 3rd faster selling game console in the history of game consoles. How that results in "paid the price" & "crapping system" is completely beyond me. Fanboys like yourself are completely delusional.

Only when the company is losing billions every year, selling HW buildings, selling millions in stocks, laying off over 8000 employees, and selling several business divisions. I don't see Microsoft doing all those things. Even financial analyst were telling stock holders to sell their stock. Big difference. Microsoft is actually profitting every year. Can't say the same for Sony who lost billions 4 years in a row.
