HUGE news!!!!! MGS4 related!!

So I was flipping trough my "official Playstation Magazine" and than I found an article that said:

"Metal Gear Solid 4 + Metal Gear Online. Separate entities? Really? It didn't make too much sense, but now we can officially confirm that MGO will be an integral part of MGS4. That's right, the two products are conjoined into one supreme MGS package."

That's just awsome!!! This game is a day one purchase for me.

For those of you who alrady know this...sorry!! Just don't come in here and type "old"

i agree im just saying that you shouldnt hold your breath. I mean there is a chance that Dead Rising may come to PS3, but i wouldnt hold my breath, which is why i bought an X360. But if you are patient enough, then go for it :D

that's easy to say now but given the huge amount of resources expended (it could make or break konami) as well as the failure of the PS3 and the poor attach ratio could mean otherwise

very true, but as can be seen from recent sales information, the PS3 is selling at approximately 200,000+ units a week in Europe and about 40k-50k a week in Japan. Thats pretty impressive, and if this recent trend can keep up, by the time Metal Gear Solid 4 hits the shelves, there should be a reasonably large enough install base for the PS3. And seeing as MGS4 is the premiere PS3 game that alot of PS2 fans bought the PS3 for, i can see it selling very well. Oh yeah, here is the link to the sales data stuff i just mentioned :P

Is it me or is this kinda old?? the bundle thing was comfirmed long time ago... is it me or are cows blinded, Im waiting till Kojima anounces the bundle will cost around 90 bucks.. lol.. people will probably buy it but I dont think I would pay 90 bucks for a game..
If im wrong and the game costs around70bucks max thenIts deff a good news... just dont get hopes up cows... I just smell milkage..

they said that the MGS online that comes with MGS4 is a starter pack or something to play online. Like a "demo" SiKh22

i would have liked the full game, but a demo is better than nuthing. Lets me know if the full game will be worth the money :D

Well after reading all the posts and seeing that most people are happy to heart that I'm gald that I posted this. to the few haters that come in here.....why do you guys come in??? go into a 360 topic and talk about your games.

And no it will NEVER not even technicaly go to the 360 for a million reasons but just to name a few: Everyone said it won't includeing Kojima himself, Payton, Harrison, ....what more do you want??

The game is developed for the PS3. It uses everything the PS3 has. It will be extreamly difficult to port that to the 360. You would have to have at least 4 DVD's for the game because it takes up a full 50gig Blu-ray disc....and now the online portion might eb another blu-ray disck...there is just no way they will releasea game on 5-6 discs....that's been done before nad it's not popular not to mention it's a waste of money!

If MGS isn't good you have never played a good game in your life.

Personally, I would consider going out and getting a PS3 just to play Metal Gear Solid 4. But that's because I love Metal Gear Solid games (minus 3). In reality, though, Metal Gear Solid 4 doesn't appear to be doing anything groundbreaking for gaming. In fact, I think it's quite funny that Konami is hyping the fact that there will be offline and online in the same game. Why is that new or interesting? Metal Gear Solid is overall an awesome franchise, but Metal Gear Solid 4 isn't pushing any sort of envelope. And that's a shame, because back in the old days, it did.

Yeah, ur right, but not most of the games use that much space in a disk without online mode, thats why they r different games.

I thought they were putting a basic MGO in with the MGS 4 game, but then you have to buy the rest of it, if you want to play the full game?

So effectively shipping out a super demo of sorts with just a few basic maps and game types, but if you want the full game you have to purchase the rest online.

In this case it is a big deal to have the single player and multiplayer portion together. Why? Well for one there has never been a game that takes up 50gigs of space on any console or PC. MGS4 is huge and it is in fact pushing the envelope in some areas. I'm suggesting to everyone to watch the 15 minute clip by clicking here and than jundge the game. Even that small clip doesn't show the full potential of that game. It's just 15 minutes.

Having a game be 50 gigs is in no way pushing the envelope. You could just as easily make 50 gigs worth of crap if you wanted to. And I believe it has yet to be determined rather or not MGS4 will actually be 50 gigs worth of game. I believe that is hypothetical at this point in time.

I will wait to hear more about this, but if it is true MGS4 is the first real must buy for the PS3.Wasdie

Wait just days ago I saw all this info of MGS4 only having an online starters kit. Which to me meant not the full Online version.

It's in the Official Playstation Magazine.....36th page I thing...don't remember (I'm at work now) on the cover...old snake. Check it out yourself if you don't belive me.

But they are not saying anything about the demo....all they say is MGS4 and MGO will be packed together in one package....they are not saying that MGS4 and a demo of MGO will be packed together. So you guys know what??? I belive the Official Playstation Magazine a lot more than any of you haters!!
