How about we just go on what Kojima himself said a few months back instead of a biased gaming mag?

It's in the Official Playstation Magazine.....36th page I thing...don't remember (I'm at work now) on the cover...old snake. Check it out yourself if you don't belive me.
But they are not saying anything about the demo....all they say is MGS4 and MGO will be packed together in one package....they are not saying that MGS4 and a demo of MGO will be packed together. So you guys know what??? I belive the Official Playstation Magazine a lot more than any of you haters!!
As far as I'm conserned they will be packed together. That's from an official source. Not a crappy blog that hates the PS3 and MGS4 and what's to downgrade it!
So stop with the BS talk ok?? Untill we know anything else for sure....so far it only sais MGS4 & MGO will be sold together!!!
And to the smar guy who sais "wow how revolutionery that they have SINGLE and MULTIPLAYER in one game"......well just read my posts before!! What big idiots some people can be.....talking about things that they don't know anything about!
Because when was the last time a magazine's been wrong?

Seriously dude, Playstation Magazine told me to ask you to lay off their nuts. You think that OPM has some sort of super-secret access to information that no other press has access to? OPM has no special ties to Konami that Gamespot, Gamepro, and a load of other magazines don't have access to. Stop hating us because choose not to get all our information from one source.

I'm not hateing anyone just the ones that came in here bigmouthed and puting down eveyrithing positive about Playstation.
You are right OPM doesn't have any special bond with Konami...but they do with Sony....or Playstation!! So I choose to belive them more than some "article" that's really a blog online that puts down everyting Playstation!
And for your info I get my information from many places includeing 4 magazines....I don't belive it all but there is nothing here that's not belivable. It only makes sence!! For that I choose to belive them...it seams that some of you hate me for that...not the other way around!
In this case it is a big deal to have the single player and multiplayer portion together. Why? Well for one there has never been a game that takes up 50gigs of space on any console or PC. MGS4 is huge and it is in fact pushing the envelope in some areas. I'm suggesting to everyone to watch the 15 minute clip by clicking here and than jundge the game. Even that small clip doesn't show the full potential of that game. It's just 15 minutes.
SO yea...it is a big deal because they where mentioned before as two seperate games. Now they are one...well in one package!
NathanDrake
Lets not start hyping this 50 gig thing. We all know this won't be a long game. That use of space stuff will come back to bite cows when the game length is revealed. And all MGS games are short.
Hahah, I love how cows get all excited over how it includes both SINGLE and MULTIPLAYER. Wow folks, they are being really innovative with this one. Never heard of THAT before.HappyAppe
Eh, thats because most of the exclusive online games from sony are really good. Halo3 is weak compared to warhark online.

OPM > You.
Kojima > OPM > You, actually. And the last thing Kojima said about it was there would be a 'starter pack' for MGO included with MGS4. OPM could have very well said the two come together, but handily left out starter pack to get fanboys drooling.

I hope you understand that I have nothing against the Playstation 3, nor do I have anything against you. You seem like an educated gamer who really wants Metal Gear Solid 4, and that's perfectly reasonable...I want Metal Gear Solid 4, too. I watched the 15 minute video you linked to, and it does look amazing. It's just that even after watching that video, I'm still not seeing Metal Gear Solid 4 really push the envelope. I'm not saying it's a bad game; it just doesn't look like it's going to do anything amazing. The game taking up 50 gigs of space doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be groundbreaking as it does that it will ineffeciently use space.

The fact that they would make a game and sell the offline and online components seperate is pretty weak. So it would be good news if they realized that fact and included a solid sp and mp experience.

MGS4 puts snake in a battlefield, something we've never seen before. It pits him against mobile half machine half organic Metal Gears. It forces him to blend into his environment by pretending to be a statue and perfectly blending into the ground and environment. (A more advanced version of what we saw in MGS3.) So now snake must rely on entirely different way to battle the enemy. He helps out the insurgent forces he comes across. The game basically wants you to do stealth in a chaotic warzone!
The villians are unlike anything else he's ever battled against.
So thats not enough of a change of gameplay for ya? Gimme a break.

You're citing changes in the Metal Gear franchise, and I'm glad to see Hideo Kojima is doing some new things with the Metal Gear franchise, but in regards to gaming as an industry, how is Metal Gear Solid 4 changing the landscape?

MGS won't change the landscape. Its already part of an established franchise and must adhere to its past roots.
Its the new IP's that change the landscape of gaming because they don't have to satisfy any former fans.

But my point is that PS3 fanboys will act like Metal Gear Solid 4 is going to change the landscape of gaming, and those are the people I'm out to prove wrong. I agree entirely that it would be hard for Metal Gear Solid 4 to change the landscape of gaming, but apparently PS3 fanboys think it's quite possible.

I totally agree that it's time for the PS3 to have a big title. I'm surprised that there haven't been more really big PS3 games. Uncharted was expected to shift the landscape of gaming, but from what I've heard, it didn't come close. Metal Gear Solid 4 may be the biggest game of 08. It has good competition, and not all of it is on the PS3, but it's definitely got a chance. I personally wouldn't be at all upset if MGS4 was the best game of 08. I'll be glad if PS3 owners get their big title.

I don't personally own a PS3 (wouldn't mind one, though), but I'm not a 360 fanboy by any stretch. I personally think all consoles deserve their own due. They're all good, in my opinion. I'd love to have all three. At the time that I purchased my first next-gen console, the 360 had the best lineup, and I didn't want to buy a PS3 since I'd have to wait a long time for the games I wanted. I still think the 360 library edges out the PS3 library, but I think the next year will give the PS3 its excellent titles. No matter which console you own, it's a great time to be a gamer.

No one with Halo 3 in their sig should talk about innovation.
They even used almost the exact same level from haloCE in the end of halo3. I was like hmm this feels and looks very familiar. Yeah very original ending. Oh and shield granades are not original(RFOM).
This isn't about innovation. Multiplayer coming with a game as opposed to being sold seperatly has nothing to do with innovation. It has to do with being milked. I guess the thought of not being milked is new for most cows.

Wow, a game that includes an online portion and a single player game all in one? How groundbreaking and amazing!!MacaroniMoses
That's what I thought too, maybe it incorporates that fancy "real time weapon change" that we have heard so much about as well. Things are sure looking up for the PS3.

That doesnt even come close to even the idea that a game would come in two seperate parts, one multiplayer and one single. Espeically one as big as MGS. That is just ridiculous.

MGS has always been fine without the multiplayer. it stands alone as a great single player series. if they want to add a multiplayer add-on, i'm not complaining. even without the multiplayer, it's still better than halo.
I've never played online (except for MGS: PO) and to be honest, I'm not really interested in MGS online. Meh, I'll try it out anyway and besides, I'm going straight for the campaign. :D Also, the destructible enviroments sound awesome.
Anyone who likes MGS.MetalCore_
Metal Gear is one of the greatest series of all time, and yes, its Ps3 only
