Hyrule Warriors - Gamespot Review - 8/10

AAE for WiiU.

Outscored Destiny, and so forth. Also one of highest scoring Musou games on Gamespot, I believe.

Can't wait to pick this up on Friday.

Well, that is surprising. I was expecting a 6 or 7.

these types of games have always had shallow gameplay, but it was entertaining, but destiny being shallow gets a 6 despite having great mechanics and good solid gunplay?

i'm not going to bitch and moan that destiny had a low score, thats not the point here. My point is that review standards are all over the place.. bring back the weighted scores from when greg k was around. At least there was a biased tilt category and you can justify a score.

Its like positives and negatives dont matter in a review score at the end of it all. ive seen plenty of reviews where there are no negatives yet dont get a 9, but i see 9's with negatives. So what is this number representing? i hate how gs went from my most trusted video game review site to this. smh

Being a Nintendo game, I unfortunately can't see it dropping to $20 anytime soon.

Never played DW more than a few minutes, but I might give this a rent..

I think the zelda paint helped the game alot.

Agreed. Just because it has Zelda doesn't change the fact that everything i've seen about this game is classic Dynasty Warriors.

A Zelda cross over isn't going to make me want it. Bayonetta 2 however, is going to be a different story.

Metroid: Other M dropped below the $20 mark. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens here.

I'm going to have to play this game at some point. I guess if I like it, there are a bunch of cheap Dynasty Warriors games out there that I can play. I've never played one.

also, surprised such a pair of breasteses are so prominently displayed on a Nintendo licensed game character, I wonder if we'll get to see the fairies in this, gotta be a big improvement over Ocarina of Time's low polygon cone looking breasteses... hmm **google'ing**

I'm very surprised it scored so high. Dynasty Warrior games can be fun, but only in very small doses.

the closest iv played to DW was sengoku basara and yea its fun but in small burst. I tried playing for a few hours and it started to feel a bit boring.

Meh. I think I'm going to give this a miss until I can pick it up cheap. Will go for Bayo 2 instead.

This is exactly what I was thinking. All the past DW games have gotten no higher than a 7 but this game gets an 8? Makes you wonder if Destiny was called Halo would it have gotten a 9.

Well, Dead Rising is way more inventive about killing these dudes, while Hyrule Warriors seems to be more straight forward. Very button mash-y. Although some of the character stuff I've seen looks kewl.

I never want to recommend this kind of game to someone, because it's so easy to not be entertained by it. I just don't mind all the hacking and slashing. Game Mania is selling it for €45, which is pretty damn cheap. Thought this would be 60 for sure.

Yeah the fun Dead Rising games had a genuinely interesting game structure with the limited saves and time challenge of the game. The killing zombies stuff with crazy shit was only part of the appeal, it was genuinely a more rewarding game underneath.

Reviews for this game seem very mixed. It all comes down to whether you like Dynasty Warriors.

I think it all comes down to how much fan service and nostalgia can negate the boring DW play style. For some it does and others it does not.

It's just dynasty warriors with a zelda skin. It's gonna be the same repetitive game.

This does look pretty solid. Hopefully dragon quest Heroes is good as well.

solidgame used to be wiiU hyper...thats the funny thing...now he did a 180...maybe because vita is more shit than wiiU in the west. idk really.

It looks pretty fun, I just wish i had time to play it. Maybe down the line.
