I got the game, have played all mainline Dynasty Warriors and Zelda games.
They managed to incorporate Zelda tropes within the Dynasty Warriors structure really well, it doesn't feel forced and at the same time is its own thing since it's more than just a literal reskin. In a way it's still just Dynasty Warriors with a Zelda skin, meaning those who are not interested in either will probably not like it, but for those who are into it it's very well executed. The campaign (Legend mode) is really high quality and lasts 12 hours, there's much more variety than in the best DW game thanks to the rich Zelda universe. The story is also an excuse to jump from the Deku Tree, to Palace of Twilight and then Skyloft. As you'd expect the enemy types change accordingly based on the map, the enemy officers have unique patterns unlike DW where everyone is identical. The ReDead will freeze you in place, the fat moblins from SS will charge at you and poes throw orbs. The evade move is actually a counter attack mechanic than just sort of being there as in DW, the officers have tells and if you successfull dodge and counter you can perform critical hits. There's alot going on in the map itself compared to DW which is rather static nowadays, enemy forces quickly take over bases and spawn points on the other side of the map and stuff, keeping you on the edge of the seat. Basically, it's way more varied in every way compared to DW.
Whether you delve into the game's many other modes, crafting system, level up characters, grind for material, complete achievements, upgrade weapons, collect all heart containers and skulltulas depends on whether the DW gameplay clicks with you, but it's all there. The main campaign is highly recommended though.
