@JangoWuzHere: Other M is all Sakamoto's responsibility, not Team Ninja! Plus this game isn't being developed by Team Ninja
Didn't they learn anything from Other M?
How about Pokemon Conquest (which now that I think of it, how did THAT game do in sales?)? Outside of GS 6.5, that game did pretty well with the critics.
As for this game... I'm sorry, Nintendo, but as someone who played Samurai Warriors with his sister and was bored to tears. This is not very interesting.
It actually doesn't look that bad, though this is obviously a video from an early build. Still needs a good bit of work, but it has potential.

My point is that Nintendo is outsourcing their quality ips to other developers. They shouldn't let anyone mess with their titles at this point.
Dynasty Warriors is a very boring stores for me and I'm afraid setting it in Hyrule won't change that. Nintendo is trying though and this may help them more in Japan than in the us. Not sure how dynasty Warriors does in oz or eu.
Finally something different. Looks cool. Too bad I hate swipping at enemies for a hundred times before they die. :-/
@JangoWuzHere: Iwata already clarified that this is a spinoff, not a main zelda title
I don't see how that changes anything. A bad outsourced spin off can still hurt a franchises name. Look at Castlevania and Sonic the Hedgehog for example.
God damn that looked awful.
yup.... it looked bad... not 1980's bad either.... just BAD!

You must have hated the Zelda Oracle (Capcom/Flagship) games and F-Zero GX (SEGA/Amusement Vision) then.
A) I'm not a huge fan of Dynasty Warriors. It's boring as shit
B) This can be a good way for the zelda team to learn some better hack and slash mechanics. Not that dynasty warriors is deep. But it's a start
Dynasty Warriors is a very shallow and boring series. I'll be treating this like Link's Crossbow Training, ie pretending it doesn't exist.
But at least Crossbow Training was, at the very least, a decent mini-game pack in with a Zapper (that hardly had any use, I'll admit even though quite a few shooters had compatibility with it).

I didint find other M horrible. So im up for something different pluse like others said this is just something on the side not our main zelda so relax.

The Zapper was just a plastic shell to hold the Wiimote and Nunchuk. It had no functionality of it's own.
I'll take your word for it about the game. But to me it's just a lame, non sensical spinoff that damages the overall Zelda brand. This Dynasty Warriors game will probably be decent (6/10 kinda level) as well. But it's a problem when Zelda is becoming known for ports and spinoffs.
I'd prefer the NES, SNES, N64 model: 1 or 2 full games per gen, no ports, spinoffs or remakes.
To those saying this will damage the zelda brand,
If it could survive the cdi games it can survive this

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw people were saying this could damage the brand. Those CDI games couldn't damage TLoZ's reputation, so I really doubt some Dynasty Warriors version of Zelda will hurt this series. I'm not so sure if this game is going to be all that great though. I rented the newest Dynasty Warriors, and I got almost the same exact experience I had with 4 (which is, like, ten years old now, I think): repetitive and boring. Maybe if Nintendo is overseeing it, it will be a decent game, but we will probably all forget about this game a year or so after it releases. I doubt it's going to sell that good either.
Sigh......please dont charge $60 for this....who works at nintendo that thought this was a good idea? Id rather get another HD port.
If this is $60 retail game I think its pretty clear that nintendo doesnt know where to go from here.
That nothing but mario/zelda stereotype seems more right everyday.

The CDi was a crap, failed console though. Very few people ever played those infamous Zelda games. Have you? Has Shinobishyguy? I haven't. It's more of an Internet meme, like the suckage of ET on Atari, at this stage.
This is a proper game on Nintendo's own console. Not selling well? Link's Crossbow Training sold around 5 million copies, despite being only a mediocre game (68 on Metacritic).
One game won't destroy Zelda, of course, but when we are talking several underwhelming major installments, mediocre spinoffs, handheld ports and HD remakes... It all builds up and it just seems like the series is flailing around a bit.
@locopatho: the last major instalment (aLBW) was really well received, what are even talking about
What handheld ports did they release in the wii/wii u?

Agreed. That seems a fantastic game. I can't wait to play at it Christmas. That's what I want to picture when I hear "Zelda". I don't want to think crappy spinoffs and ports and remakes and flawed main installments (on DS and Wii, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks and Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword all have some pretty major flaws).
I was pretty clear I thought: I just don't want the series diluted with loads of cash ins and mediocre spinoffs like so many series are.
Though I suppose if the spinoffs sell well and pay for an awesome, open world, HD Zelda, I can allow them :P
