After having like 3 months of maxing every game I encounter on my PC, I just cant stand the consoles, I just played GTA IV on my PS3 and I almost throw up, I know this game was never known for its graphic but its just...bad...looks terrible on my 42' tv, heavily alyased, a lot of screen tearing despite the choppy frame rate, horrible characters model...hell I dont think a game needs good graphics to be good, but I dont like it when a game has mediocre graphics.
so, once you enter pc gaming, can you ever leave pc gaming?

This is not a fanboy rant at all..lol..I mean can you get anymore dramatic? The graphical difference is not that big. Ive played my share of pc games. Not trying to bust your b&*s dude..just speaking from the heart man..PC is fine, but not night and day different...AND with developers getting better and better visuals every other month out of these "OLD TECH" consoles its less then ever..I mean honestly I still play HALO CE and feel just as good playing it now as I did on launch day.

[QUOTE="mitu123"] Having been playing online on consoles for years, I can safely say it definitely isn't the best. Playing with randoms is always a mixed experience, though in reality it can depend on the game.

i'm sure it's the total opposite on PC...
Not 100%, but far better than what I played on consoles, I can even give examples of some games I own on PC and consoles like Bad Company 2. There are far more teabaggers and people who sent me hate messages on the 360 version of BC2. I suppose this has to do with certain games. I've been sent about 4 hate messages after having played online for over 500 hours on consoles. On PC (especially in MMORPGs), I get flamed daily.[QUOTE="mitu123"]Not 100%, but far better than what I played on consoles, I can even give examples of some games I own on PC and consoles like Bad Company 2. Besides, let´s see here: you usually say the PC is only good for web browsing and that you don´t play on the PC and all that jazz, but then I already saw you say more than once that Amnesia is great, now you also play MMO´s(apparently daily),and since you say "especially MMORPGs",it implies that you also play other genres.
Hmmm...what to believe,what indeed...
[QUOTE="YoshiYogurt"]I'm in the exact same boat, I've had my gaming pc for a few months now. Everything is so much better. mitu123I agree to that, and Steam helped a lot. Steam is simply amazing, great games and prices.

Done it a few times. Left PC gaming when I saw the gamecube. Half-Life 2 taught me that was a mistake. And when Gears of War happened, I had my attention focused on the Xbox 360, and jumped back to PC gaming upon seeing the Orange Box and Crysis. Although I still played the 360 at the time, i got a new PC in 2008, and since then, I played less and less on consoles. Also, I have bought a few games that I already own on the 360 that got a PC version, such as Assassin's Creed 1 and 2, Mass Effect series, and Devil May Cry 4. Assassin's Creed 1 seemed about the same, but when looking at Mass Effect, I noticed that the frames per second is a lot better.
The point of this thread is? Console games have bad graphics? Some of us play games for fun you know.
Im a PC gamer from 80s. Where most of ppl here grew up on Super Mario, Final Fantasy and Contra, I grew up on Prince of Persia, Dungeon Master and Commander Keen. I always kept my HW on cutting edge (cant forget the moment a bought my first 3D accelerator - 3Dfx Voodoo2, thats where gaming graphics REALLY changed completely in a few months). My PS3 is my first console ever, I bought it because I finally bought my own flat with my own living room and I needed something for my own 50" fullHD plasma.
I must say I havent enjoyed gaming so much in years. PC gaming is going down since about 2001 and its getting worse every year. There are always a few gems (Crysis, Starcraft 2), but most of the games are console ports that dont control well, dont look better and are worse optimised. The best games today are mostly console exclusives (and especially PS3 exclusives - I dont think there was ever a level of polish in videogames comparable to PS3 exclusives today). Although I do enjoy a PC game every once in a while (I put several hundreds hours into Starcraft 2 multiplayer, Im enjoying Team Fortress 2 PC a lot, etc.), I must say my primary gaming machine is definitely PS3. PS3 games are even greatly original - like the online aspect of Demons Souls, Valkyria Chronicles, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain... and when I was gaming on my PC I though originality has completely vanished from gaming world.
Oh and console version of GTA IV really looks terrible.
I agree. It's REALLY hard to go back to play with my wife on consoles. L4D2 on pc is amazing, and it's 360 counterpart is just a horrible port in comparison. I played it a ton with my wife, then really got into pc gaming. I played a few days ago and was just frustrated at the slowdown (especially during explosions) of the game at certain moments. Additionally, I hate how bodies disappear on the 360. After a big hoard on pc, the visuals of all those zombie parts really add to the immersion.demi0227_basicI would kill myself if my wife starts pc gaming with me. I love it if she just stays with her DS.
Yeah I'm a PC gamer, but I'm also not an annoying elitist who overstates how pretty a game looks.
So as much as I love TF2 and Left 4 Dead 2, nothing beats a gamepad and some Mortal Kombat or Uncharted for me.Plus I have yet to play a PC exclusive that truly captivates me like the Metal Gear Solid, God of War or Mario series have.

all his credibility was just thrown out the windowI switch between my PC and PS3 all the time. Sure, i notice a big difference, but i don't 'nearly throw up'.
I can still play PS3 games perfectly happily.

Yeah, that one I´ll never forget. :PI agree. I dont really care about graphics that much but when it's as bad as it is on consoles then it's unplayable tbh. And on top of that most console games have a terrible frame rate :(After having like 3 months of maxing every game I encounter on my PC, I just cant stand the consoles, I just played GTA IV on my PS3 and I almost throw up, I know this game was never known for its graphic but its just...bad...looks terrible on my 42' tv, heavily alyased, a lot of screen tearing despite the choppy frame rate, horrible characters model...hell I dont think a game needs good graphics to be good, but I dont like it when a game has mediocre graphics.

Exactly. PC is my preferred system (thats why almost all of my multiplats are on PC.) but apart from Starcraft II you really missing out on this gens best games which are exclusives like MGS4, UC2, LBP, and well.. galaxy lol.I much prefer PC and always pick it for multiplats, but it doesnt bother me so much that I wont play gems like Uncharted, mario, Zelda, Metal Gear Solid 4 and more.

Nice one, more like voice of insanity.
disagree with me= cry about how amazing windows is even tho they have never used anything els.
People who have never OWNED(going to a friends and playing theirs doesn't count as trying PC gaming) a high end PC, will always be console gamers simply because they don't have it. YoshiYogurt

I've got a Q6600@2.4GHz, ATI HD4850, 4GBs of RAM @800MHz.
I bought this computer, hmmm, two years ago perhaps.
I only struggle with the most demanding games e.g. Crysis on highest and The Witcher 2.
Keep your bs for yourself. kkthx.

Not only PC's, he's a menace to the whole information technology industry.
He actually thought (perhaps he still thinks) that this video proves Linux is "faster" than Vista, as seen in this thread (scroll down a little, fifth post of page 8 ).
One lab accident away from being a IT supervillain indeed :P

Out of date, yet running games betting than consoles can dream of...isn't that awesome? My GTX 460 is out of date by your logic, but consoles don't come close to it.This whole "PC has waaay better graphics than consoles " is just bloated, over exaggerated, and purely fan boyish to say the least. Tech wise the PC is superior, but on paper, developers do not use that extra muscle effectively (especially multiplates) when it comes down to comparing againts consoles. Sure you see an increase of resolution, AA/AF ,fps, but the PC is just getting consolized ports and not fully utilising the tech being given. When you pop in games like inFamous 2, Uncharted 2, God of War 3, Gears 3 ,etc. Those games sure do impress me just as much if not more than your typical overhyped PC brethrens.
Sorry...you fail TC.....and start playing PS3 and Xbox in HD like the rest of us...

I beg to differ. If you got physically ill from looking at a games graphics and/or cannot play games because of their graphics your pretty much a graphics whore.
This. I can't believe you actually got sick looking at mediocre graphics. The best games I ever played didn't have pretty graphics.

HD? You mean that 720p that has been PC since like before the begining of Last Gen consoles,.
I'll be playing The Witcher 2, Metro 2033, RAGE, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 DX11,Hard Reset, X-Rebirth, and many others maxed out in 1080p+ with meh fancy AAs that don't blur up my game in a desperate attempt to hide the jaggies.
