When I think back, I always had more than one system per gen. This gen is no different. It's nice owning more than one and getting to play as much selection of games as possible.

[QUOTE="xsubtownerx"]And once again, a simple topic about a console purchase has made PC gamers angry. :lol:Birdy09Mmmm no.... they just stated a fact... the 360 is nearly useless when you have a gaming bPC, regaurdless of "lol I prefer mah plastic controller to your plastic keyboard device" :P
As i said. The PS3 is JUST as useless as the 360 coupled with a PC.
[QUOTE="Cait__Sith"][QUOTE="gamecubepad"]
You're not hearing me. Mass Effect is designed primarily for the 360. ME2 will play better on the 360 and look just as good as a $400-500 PC, and you get the 360 exclusives like FM3, Halo 3, Gears 2.
Why spend $200 more for the same thing plus the work needed to build a rig?
You must be doing something wrong, because native 1080 with AA effects alone should look better. Also dont forget PC has loads more exclusives.I'm not just talking about gfx, Mass Effect 2 is designed for the 360, it will play better on the 360.
Concerning gfx, the 360 can equal a $400-500 build.
360 =/= a $50 8800GT...if you get Halo 3 make sure you buy Halo 3 ODST thats a better buy since it comes with all the DLC for multiplayer and comes with reach beta also that comes out next year. Halo 3 not sure how much it is these days is only worth it if you want to player the single player since ODST doesn't come with Halo 3's single player but ODST has its own single player plus firefight.
[QUOTE="superapo"]
congrats, just in time for the release of mass effects 2 and conviction.

Careful, your fanboy is showing. This guy already has a PS3, why bother with a costly and time consuming build when you can get the PC/360 multi's for only $200?
I just built my brother a $500 PC, and that's after rebates, not including the cost of an OS. It's nominally better than a 360 in gfx.
With a $300 budget for hardware you're not going to get much better gfx than a $200-300 360.

Here's a challenge. Let's use Newegg exclusively. New parts only, shipping included, rebates excluded.
1. Build a rig including 64-bit OS for $400 and see what you get.
2. Build a rig including new OS for $200 and see if you can get good gfx like this...
Not to mention the wait for shipping and the time to build it. I built over 50 comps by the time I was 16yrs old. Most people would be lost, so building a rig would be a pain. Stop raining on this guys parade with your fanaticism.
Only difference is PS3s best games are exclusive to the system itself. But yeah any multiplat PS3/PC/etc I'd get on PC obviously.[QUOTE="Cait__Sith"]

Same can be said for the PS3 though.
People act as if the PS3 has FAR more exclusives then the Xbox. It may have (If at all) A few more.
This isn't last gen when the Playstation had TONS of exclusives. This gen it has arguably 5 worth playing (So far)

Halo 3. Halo ODST. Forza 3. Banjo K&B. Lost Odyseey. Gears of War 2.

$199 for a prebuilt Acer Aspire Revo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883103228&Tpk=acer%20revo
Some places offer a free windows 7 upgrade.
and they don't have it up on the webpage yet, but for $299 you can get the model up from that with an extra 1GB of ram, and a dual core atom.
The PC has HDMI out, built in wifi, no DVD drive (if you need one buy it extra its cheap, but most people use steam or other), it uses the Nvidia Ion which is a DX10 setup.

I did it as well, I borrowed a 360 while I am awaiting my paycheck to fix my ps3. I have been playing Halo3 singleplayer and I am not impressed to say the least. I am enjoying playing MP3 on the wii I just bought my gf more than I am Halo3. I still am going to rent Gears 1&2 and ME1 before returning the 360. I hope to have my ps3 fixed next month so I can play Uncharted 2, more MW2, and continue renting games like Demon's Souls, etc. The latest my ps3 will be fixed is Valentines Day when my gf said she'd do it for me

Admit it, you failed the challange. Stop bringing that elitist attitude around. As a gaming system, a $500 PC is no better than a 360 or PS3.
In fact, I would recommend buying both a $300 Slim and $200 Arcade over a $500 gaming PC anyday.
I just spec'd out a $450 PC on newegg that equals the PS3/360 in gfx power and it's craptastic. With quality parts it would run $500 easy.

You keep talking about a gaming but when I show you a PC capable of beating out the 360 suddenly its CPU is bad. And desperate is you who ignored the video I showed you, and gave me some numbers instead.cool its a really fun system. We are like opposites though since I get all my multiplats on 360 and the odd exclusives I want on the ps3 (uncharted series), since the online component is superior. Plus to all the people saying pc makes an xbox 360 useless, we could reverse that and say that xbox 360 makes the pc useless. Also a good high end comp will cost you at least 1100$. I know since Im an amateur pc builder.

Desperate hermit resorting to the emachines pre-built like all desperate hermits do, and it's still more expensive by far. Not to mention TigerDirect doesn't sell 8800GTs, just 9800GT for $80. With shipping and the 9800GT it's about $300 for a piece of crap.
Your first build runs COD4 at 10-15fps, while the 360 hits 60fps. So it's about 1/4 as powerful as a 360. Fail.
Your second build is piece of junk and uses a single core cpu and has a 250w Power Supply that will fry after 10min. of Crysis or the like. Fail.
I can't believe you would put a video card that requires a 450W psu with a 250W psu and single core cpu. That's just plain wrong.

PS3 + Gaming PC = Awesome
PS3 - True Exclusives you can't find anywhere....Sony invest alot of money in thier internal studios to bring out the best out of it's system, and the usual BluRay, Wifi, Free Online bla bla.
Gaming PC/Laptop - compared to the 360, I'm surprised it hasn't been mention more in this thread, but FREE MODS & FREE ONLINE and better graphics and cheaper games....
I love my PS3 but I also love how simple it is for me to bring my laptop (4gb ram ATI HD2600 XT 512mb.....thats enough for me) over to my TV and unplug the HDMI plug that is hooked up to my PS3 and plug it into my Laptop and bam Crysis and L4D on the Big Screen...and when I'm done...put the HDMI plug back into the PS3......its very convenient.......and STEAM is great as well.
with games costing $65 on the PS3 and 360 thank god for PC pricing.....you save alot of money with free online and cheaper games when you add a gaming pc to your gaming lineup.......and again free mods that can totally change a game.....its ridiculous.
Why didnt you Buy a new graphics card instead of a 360? a GTS 250 is a great cheap graphics card that will run nearly all games max 1080pi gotta say it is alot better then I thought. The Live is AWESOME , and Left 4 Dead 2 is awesome. But since the PS3 is my main game system , I will only use it for exclusives, and some multiplats. But I am glad that I bought this. I am now able to finally gonna be able to see how bad or good the system is by myself without other people saying **** So if you want to add me , my Gamer Tag is MOXXSTER. Thanks guys. ( Also , my PSN is MOXXSTER )

Congrats! You can't go wrong with the PS3/360 combo.
Yep, screw the haters who say otherwise.:P i think any TRUE gamer would love to have both,i love being able to play some gears and then going right into some uncharted,i admit i was a 360 hater but my kids begged for one, nothing but pure gaming awsomeness since,i would suggest everyone who loves gaming to take the ps3/360 plunge, and then laugh at all the fanboys who swear their system is better,i may get a wii now and have em all,but for now,360/ps3/dsi is working for me,and p.s. stop the hate,in the end were all gamers.2010 will rule[QUOTE="Cait__Sith"][QUOTE="superapo"] Yes but may people don't have the money to buy a gaming pc, or see the need tosuperapo*facepalm* You might aswell just say it "a gaming PC is $999999." its true though Um no.
