You my friend are the embodiment of hermit elitism.

Bringing a single core Celeron 1.6GHz cpu to battle against a triple core, dual-threaded 3.2GHz cpu. What a joke.

I won't bother pointing out all the fallacies in your post, but the fact that you would recommend such an unbalanced PC shows you are desperate.

gamecubepad

lol like I said the 8800GT does the physics anyways the CPU doesn't matter. unbalanced PC. You keep talking about a gaming but when I show you a PC capable of beating out the 360 suddenly its CPU is bad. And desperate is you who ignored the video I showed you, and game me some numbers instead.

Desperate hermit resorting to the emachines pre-built like all desperate hermits do, and it's still more expensive by far. Not to mention TigerDirect doesn't sell 8800GTs, just 9800GT for $80. With shipping and the 9800GT it's about $300 for a piece of crap.

Your first build runs COD4 at 10-15fps, while the 360 hits 60fps. So it's about 1/4 as powerful as a 360. Fail.

Your second build is piece of junk and uses a single core cpu and has a 250w Power Supply that will fry after 10min. of Crysis or the like. Fail.

I can't believe you would put a video card that requires a 450W psu with a 250W psu and single core cpu. That's just plain wrong.

You don't know much do you. the video showed COD4 running at 30-40 FPS with all the effects turned on. And you keep making up these numbers of 10-15fps lol. Also the 8800GT can run on a 250w PSU without overloading it. Sure some people may disagree but you have a higher chance of getting RROD then overloading a 250w PSU with an 8800GT. Also when was a 9800GT a piece of crap? its better than an 8800GT and the 8800GT can beat out an xbox360 without using the CPU. Seriously I find it hard to believe you built a PC before. And the 2nd machine is not junk ether it beats out an Xbox 360 easily. Heck who cares for the 8800GT for even less I can get an 8600GT which also beats out the Xbox 360 and does DX10. It also needs very little PSU requirements. Also who cares if the hardware is eMachines, when the console with some of the worst hardware issues is being compared to it. Admit it you lost this. Not only did I prove you wrong with your absurd standards, but I showed you thatPC doesn't have to be $500 to be good. And if the 360 included Wifi/HDD/1 year online its $450

$200 arcade
$100 Wifi N
$100 HDD
$50 1 year online

Lame.

An Ion seems about as powerful as a 2400xt 256MB ddr2. Multiple benchmarks confirm this.

You recommend an Emachines with single core 1.6GHz Celeron + 250W crap psu with a 9800GT and you're telling me I seem like I've never built a comp. Yet, you parade this crap around like it's better to have a junk comp like the 2 you proposed instead of $200 360, or $300 PS3.

Please, stop with the hermit elitism already.

blah blah blah. You clearly deny truth about the Ion because I showed you a video I don't need to see benchmarks to know the truth. Sure on paper the BMW M X5 is faster than the Jaguar XKR, but in reality the XKR wins. And again whats wrong with emachines? And a celeron+8800GT will not overload a 250w PSU. And incase you still disagree for $15 you can get a 350PSU with that comp form tiger direct. Diablotek DA Series 350w ATX Power Supply - 350W, Dual 80mm Fan, ATX Power Supply. And 350 can run that no sweat. Again you keep giving me this BS about the celeron, but you fail to understand that the graphics card will take the load off of it for almost all the essentials for gaming. And you keep going on talking about "a junk PC" when the 360 has the worst hardware. And then you resort to name calling with this whole "hermit elitism" crap.

Behold hermit elitism at it's finest.

"This should shut you up"

"You don't know much do you"

Those are your lines hermit, after I owned you and your junk builds.

I asked you to build a comp that equals a 360 for $200 and you put forth a htpc that plays COD4 at 10-15fps(at best) with medium settings and 2xAA, and that's with 2GB DDR2-1066, not 1GB like your build which doesn't even have DVD drive, but it's still at least $215. $215 for 10fps in COD4 at 360 quality, while the 360 runs 60fps.

Then you throw out a total junk emachines with Celeron 1.6GHz cpu and 250W psu with a video card that requires a 450W psu.

Your builds are the definition of junk.

You ignore everything I said to you and still expectme to take you seriously. Alright... So basically I beat you with logic and you have this to say to me? I'm finding this rather humorous at this point because you haven't raised a single valid point after I showed you REAL PROOF, and explained to you why you're points are invalid.

[QUOTE="Killfox"][QUOTE="superapo"]

congrats, just in time for the release of mass effects 2 and conviction.

Cait__Sith

Both multiplats. I dont see any reason of getting a 360. I dont even know why I got one. Sure it launch it was cool for awhile and now Im just like hey I can just get that game for PC. The only game im going to be playing on it is forza3 and then get assassins creed 2 in march for PC. But I guess congrats. Different strokes for different folks.

Yeah PC really makes the 360 worthless aside from the odd exclusive.

Got that right.. I still don't see why you would need a 360 if you have a pc, hell graphics cards are so cheap nowadays.. you can play anyhting with a $100 card (where a few years ago it would of cost you $300+ for that) .. If you don't like halo or gears and have a gaming pc..whats the point?

Please.

Here's 3 separate benchmarks, all using either superior CPUs or better(more) RAM...

#1

This is with no AA, minimum settings. 2xAA and medium settings would put it right down at 10-15fps. Not to mention they're using 2GB DDR2-1066, not 1GB like your build...

#2

Once again they're using 2GB ddr2-1066...

#3

"Call of Duty 4: 1280×800, optimal settings: 23.9 FPS, falls to 11 in complex scenes."

Not a Ion build, but still uses the 9400M. That's without 2xAA at minimum settings, not medium. I could see it dropping to 5fps in complex scences with 2xAA at medium settings. That's with a Core 2 Duo and 2GB RAM.

Since you like to diss Tom's Hardware, how about we go on there with your junk builds and see what they think?

Once again just for fun...

Here's a challenge. Let's use Newegg exclusively. New parts only, shipping included, rebates excluded.

1. Build a rig including 64-bit OS for $400 and see what you get.

2. Build a rig including new OS for $200 and see if you can get gfx like this...

Certainly would since RROD is most likely a solder problem and Jasper units have around a 5% failure rate.

If your 360 fails within 3yrs MS replaces it for free. When that junk 250W psu fails you risk your complete system with no warranty.
