...…they are praising games like rock band? i mean seriously just think about it this isn't a hardcore game at all, in fact..it's a non gamer's game. just experiment it yourself and show a non gamer this title..he/she will love it!!!! and i believe i have seen enough evidence supporting my claim since lemmings and cows can't stop shoving this games up sheep's throats because it's a game that brought their entire family to play Video Games and not the Wii.. so what?its still nintendo's vision that brought the family together, not Sony's or Microsoft's.

Rock band has been following nintendo's main vision from the beginning, to shift the attraction from the console toThe controller, graphics mean nothing for the game and everyone knows that…but isn't that what Wii fit is doing as well? it brings an entirely new and a more effective approach in control, yet no one ever seemed to care about that. all they cared about was the crazy thought of Wii fit being just a training simulator, but i would like to know where can i find the gym that throws shoes rather than soccer balls at me to enhance my reflexes. Point is, Wii fit is as much a training simulator as rock band is a music simulator.

Many would probably agree with what I have said so far, but for others, they would think the difference between the two is the content inside the software and the difficulty they withhold. But I say they are actually pretty near in those aspects as well, it is true that Rock band's songs alone will probably last longer than playing all the different stages Wii fit presents together, but this is not the key to playing these types of games at all. They key is to master all the content to even say you "beat" the title, but in the end, both games are actually endless, and trying to perfect yourself in each categoryis just as hard in both titles as well.unless you are a complete master in exercise andbalance, and know nothing about music, the situation might be different, but this particular situation can go vise-versa as well, which is yet another similarity between the two efforts.

Don't get Me wrong, I am not comparing Wii fit to Rock band because I'm saying Rock band's inspiration came from Nintendo or anything even remotely close to that atall! I'm comparing them because they all achieve the exact same goal in the exact same steps, but people seem to praise one as innovative and trash the other as "the destroyer of video games,"and I am still not able to understand why,I realize music is a popular hobby while exercise sounds like a chore. But what's the difference if they all bring fun and happiness in the end?

I guess using a guitar controller is super hardcore awesomeness and a wiimote or balance board is just a kiddy gimmick

that is a respectable question. I'm guessing it has to do with the audiences. Wii Fit is aimed toward adults, when Guitar Heroes is more... Young Adults. Honestly though, anyone could play either and have a blast.

I also think Wii Fit's peripheral is better. :P

Most people who have a problem with wii fit, is because they are fat. And they insult a game thats aimed at helping them.

So it's like stfu im in denile of being a fatty blah blah". Btw, wii fit looks like a fun exercise game. I'll be buying it soon. I could lose 5-10 pounds with it. Looking forward to it's exercise routine. :)

People who play Rock Band just want a good rhythm-based game to enjoy, and it does require at least some sort of skill with timing. None of them are pretending they are professionals, they know it's a game.

Wii Fit on the other hand has a bunch of casual noobs who think they are really getting fit on this thing. They are the ones who need to get a head check.

that is a real concern. Like most things out of nintendo, or even sony, they are made for the japanese market. There is only a 300 lbs limit . Kind of cruel if you want to get fit, huh?

You dont lose any weight playing Wii Sports lol. Unless you're talking about that ONE guy who made a blog about it. He also watched what he ate, restricted calories, and kept a journal. obviously this dunce would lose weight but not because of Wii Sports. Watching the calories will burn more than 3 hours of Wii Sports.

I don't hate Wii Fit, it's just that I don't care about Wii Fit.
Unlike many people, I managed to get off my butt and work out without the help of a video game, or Nintendo.

So that's like, +1 for me, and 0 for Nintendo.

I rule.

Rock Band drum playing works out things in your lower legs you never knew existed. And if you do the vocals you get a good workout for your vocal chords and you think more about your breathing. :) Especially if you want to sing Green Grass and High Tides Forever.

Maybe my dislike of Wii Fit is because I don't really understand it. Its a plastic board you balance on. I can't imagine anyone paying over $10 for this device. People make the argument, "This is exercise! How can you hate it, its good for you!" but to me it seems like a half-ass attempt at best. Its a plastic board you balance on.

It feels more like testing the peripherials market. "Plastic guitars went over well, and now we have plastic guns, drums and steering wheels. What else can we get them to buy?" At best it just seems like a new way for people to enjoy collections of minigames under the premise of fitness.

Its not necessarily bad, its just too... Apple for me.

Yes if you on average burn about 500 calories a day through excersise, go ahead and eat what you like to some constraint. I mean you can eat junkk food and stuff along with your other daily meals. Just dont be a mcdonalds regular :P if you know what i mean.

And on wii fit:

Its not about losing weight people. Not everyone in the world can go to the gym 5 times a week and watch their calories. Your schedule sometimes gets altered, which is why wii fit is great. Need to get some excersise in before off doing something else and you have 20 minutes. Its perfect for situtations like that.

Furthermore, excersising is boring. No one excersises cause its fun. I'm not talking about sports, I'm talking about weight training, and an hour on the eleptical which is what i do 4 times a week. I would rather get excersise and have fun at the same time than just listening to my ipod and being bored out of my mind as i run and excersise.

Conclusion:

If you dont like wii fit, don't buy it. You obviously think that excersise has to be hardwork and no fun, so just carry on going to the gym.

Ps> This does not discriminate against any you peeople who play sports.

how deep is the Yoga system in Wii Fit? Xbox1 had a Yoga game already (it was a 100% Yoga dedicated game) Should I praise that game for making women all over the country fit? If a game that's dedicated to Yoga couldn't induce a country-wide weight loss phenomenon, no way will Wii Fit. I bet the Yoga portion is some tiny minigame or two.

Yoga does make a person more limber, and increase the person's awareness of their own body, but Wii Fit is almost no different from a cheap late-night informercial product. It promises results using the lowest intensity (ie waste of time) possible, and this does not really lead to results. The reason why most of the country is unfit is because most of the country fall for these quick schemes. Only a small percentage of the people you see on the street who you'd classify as realy "fit" knew that those results did not come from a piece of plastic or junky equipment you buy in four easy payments of $12.99. It came through years of dedicated hard work and knowledge. Wii Sport or Wii Fit and even that Xbox 1 game, and even DDR, are not really the way to go. I know someone will say "DDR makes you hella tired!" One thing wrong with DDR used as exercise is you need to keep the heartrate at a continuous 15-20 minute stretch to see real fat-burning benefits (which are still small at this point) DDR has so many pauses and time to switch songs and settings that the heartrate never reaches the necessary pitch. That, and the person would need to play DDR quite often that he'll just say to himself, "Why not just go to the GYM and get 100% maximum fat-burning instead of this video game that gives only 60%?"

Use this hardcore rule: to burn off a decadent cookie you'd have to run like a madman (hair flopping around, drenched in sweat) around a track for 15-20 minutes. All of that painful work to burn off a cookie. Now, tell me, where in Wii Sports or Wii Fit will you even approach that level of intensity -- and this is just for a cookie! Imagine an obese person needing to lose 20-30 pounds. If a cookie is 150 calories and a pound of fat is 3,500 calories, you can do the match and pretty much see that it will take forever to meet that goal if you use Wii Fit or Wii Sports.

The answer, I'm afriad, is ditch the Wii Fit and do it the right way, the natural way, the way even our ancestors knew. They did not need dumb modern-day contraptions and plastic toys to outrun and outperform us, they didnt even have shoes for chrissakes.

I agree with the TC 100%. I guess all the 4-year olds attempting to play Rockband at Best Buy are all hardcore, now?

Yes, I know that was a cheap stereotype. But lemmings do the same thing to Wii owners. Why can't we make fun of them for pretending to be "mature" and "hardcore"? (Oh, look at me! I'm a guitar god because I can press buttons at the correct time on-screen with a plastic piece of crap!)

" to some constraint" does mean "watching what you eat" :P

well no one is gonna go to mcdonalds three times a day. Also if you don't watch what you eat you are a moron. If you go eating as much junk/fast food as possible not even lyposuction will help you.

Weight loss formula, Calculate how much you eat per day(calories). Then figure out how many calories you need from your bmi(included in wii fit). Then burn 500 calories thru excersise and you will lose weight.

[QUOTE="nintendo-4life"]oh really? are you saying yoga doesn't do anything to fitness? :|PhoebusFlows

how deep is the Yoga system in Wii Fit? Xbox1 had a Yoga game already (it was a 100% Yoga dedicated game) Should I praise that game for making women all over the country fit? If a game that's dedicated to Yoga couldn't induce a country-wide weight loss phenomenon, no way will Wii Fit. I bet the Yoga portion is some tiny minigame or two.

K first of all you burn calories when you sleep. Secondly to lose weight you need to figure out your bmi and how many calories your supposed to eat a day and eat 500 less or excersises 500 calories.

500 calories on eleptical= 30 minutes. Wii fit can at least burn 150 calorie+ in 30 minutes.

Please don't talk as if your some expert on this issue.

as i still haven't played the game yet, i surely cannot answer any of your questions right now, but there's one thing ssj_ken pointed out, Wii fit can be fun, real excercising cannot. The point of Wii fit is that it's still a game and can still be effective, i'm not saying it will make you look your gender stereotype, but at least it will get my muscles moving more than most games around.

WiiFit looks like a bunch of fun. :) Can't wait. BioShockOwnz

I agree after reading about it in game informer, I am looking forward to it. I also love brain age on the ds. I have tons of games just for mindless killing and fun, its nice to change it up every now and then.

WTH? :|

Are you kidding? Exercise can be fun. Have you ever actually tried an actual workout? Ever? And if you have, have you ever tried any SERIOUS alternatives?

:| The human body needs exercise. Our bodies are naturally inclined to begin enjoying exercise once you stay on a regiment for a long enough period of time, not to mention the benefits of increased blood flow and brain activity that come with working out. Have you EVER tried pushing yourself?
