Who wants to join my wolf pack? We use the DKP system for elk hides and other phat lewt.... oh and if you have the most DKP you get to mate with a female wolf that is probably played by a man.
Hmmm from the developers blog.... At first glance, the life of a wild wolf looks like perfect material for a realistic eco-game. And at second glance, and third glance, and fourth glance. But now that we're chin-deep in game development, we keep running into conflicts between good gameplay and realistic wolf behavior. Wolves sleep 15 hours a day, on average. Much of the rest of the time is spent trotting cross-country, hour after hour, marking their territory and looking for prey. And when they do find prey, the hunt fails far more often than it succeeds. None of those aspects of a wolf's life would make for satisfying gameplay. So in those ways and many others, we are not making a realistic game. No one would play it if we did. lol....
WTH?! How are those kids playing?! I thought the beta started in October! It doesn't matter though, I heard that it takes an entire terabyte to play on the lowest settings. *sigh* i wonder how deep the customization of your wolf would have been.
Looks more like an educational game for kids. /shrug
It's not the first of its kind, either. There have been several PC biological simulation games with similar goals in the past, though none in the terribly recent past. I played several of the 2D ones from (which were developed by a company that later was bought by EA) on my 486 back in the day, and some of them were actually quite well done.
:lol: this reminded me of something. My friend Kodi joined something similar except it uses penguins, you name your character and everything (he named his coldbeaner, cause we live in alaska and he's mexican) and he goes on just to make fun of all the little kids playing it, and the little kids threaten to tell their parents. It's hilarious.
