I HATE how all of my friends have an Xbox 360 and believe the PS3 is garbage.

Heres a link from over a year and half ago showing the failure rate of 360 at 54.2%, there was a 2010 article that had it at 73% a few months ago but it's not coming up in my Google search, but do the math, if it was over 54% well over a year ago, it obviously escalated since then.

Most of my friends owned an original Xbox and a PS2. But when the "next generation of gaming" came about, they went soley with the 360 and blindly hate on the PS3. I know im not alone because many people here in SW have a 360 because their friends do. (I being one of those people)

I'm 18 in College at Houston, TX. It seems to me that its almost cool to like the Xbox 360 over the other systems. It is it's own fad.

When hanging out in between classes and i catch some "gamer" talk, i chime in. 90% of the time its people talking about COD or Halo but everynow and then they'll just say ignorant things like the PS3 online is garbarge and no one needs bluray its a waste of money. All of these are great opinions but man, this really grinds my gears.

Do you ever see any of this situation in your life? Do your friends all have 360's and you find yourself being the only PS3 owner?

I completely agree verge.

Also my opinion has yet to change, there isn't much reason to own both these expensive consoles. That goes both ways, the 360 and the PS3 both have almost the same experiences and both have a ton of games.

The problem is, the differences are much smaller than the similarities. I'm not being bias, i've tried hard to justify owning a PS3 as well for the price, can't do it. It's likely i'd have the same problems the other way round.

I own both. Love the PS3 hardware and it's exclusives.

If I were advising someone who could only have ONE console which console to get, XBL is the 800lb gorilla. 360 it would be. Look at the GT5 launch. PSN/GT5 couldn't even handle the GT5 single player connectivity.

Unless it was an older gamer, not interested in online play and wanted a killer blu-ray player. ;)

PS3 is my favourite console to game on. Most of my friends own a 360 over a PS3 but I still love to game on it.

Real life friends? if so, why would you be mad at them for liking something? Join in the fun or else leave them be. My friend swears by his PS3.. and I understand. I have all consoles this gen and a gaming PC. At the end of the day, I love my PC gaming but other platforms fill in the void.

I only have a 360 but most of my friends have a PS3 only. We all have more fun playing at my place. Spliscreen is the main reason :P

Its crazy but where in my circle of friends/co-workers the 360 gamers believe that the PS3 is so much more powerful. PS3 seems to be the console that the 360 owners wish they had and that the PS3 owners think the PS3 can't touch when it comes to graphics. Its weird at times.

your logic is flawed. if we follow your release date logic, then obviously

the 360 should be rank #1 this gen since it was release before either ps3 or wii, yet

the wii, which came out at about the same time as ps3, is more popular and outsells both

its competition. so why would people jump on the wii wagon if

360 came out first? if you're whole point was simply to poke fun at

I like the PS3 morebecause of its exclusives, but i cant play games like Bad Company 2 online (cuz im 14), so id rather play Halo with my friends (allthough 90% of them have PS3s).

not with me, its the other way around. all my friends play on the ps3 more and knows its better even the ones who owns 360 plays on their ps3 more and knows its better. and if they think the 360 is better and play on that more, we wont be friends anymore
