I have been very disipointed with consoles this gen

Aside from a small number of great games i have gotten. for the most part they all just gather dust and my PC has been getting all the play time

ive only got like 10 console games this gen and have traded in every other one because they are all so disapointing.

is anyone else noticing this happening?

it seems like all the games that come out are all hype but dont live up to it at all

i think that game developers are losing their creativity in making good games and don't know what kind of games to make anymore since they are all out of ideas

i think consoles this gen have been fantastic, i own over 40 xbox 360 games and majority of them are fantastic

I feel that a lot of developers are losing ideas for games but no I still think that all the games have been quite fun this generation both on PC and consoles.

i think the games are getting better they are just less to choose from compared to other gens. for instance. ive got9 jaguar games, 22 saturn gamesand 42 dreamcast games but only 14 360 games and 8 PS3 games. something isnt right there when i have more games on the jag then the PS3.

Im consolist since amiga ( where amiga supposed to be a console not PC back then ) Atari 2600 etc , till PS2 gen.

I dunno , why but this gen was a let down for me , didnt feel to buy any console. Too many reasons i guess.. Is maybe PC goin stronger than before with many elite , only console games before , find their way fast enough to PC with way higher standards , or consoles dont appeal me anymore with games .. one of the same all the time. Dunno which is , but its fact , at least this gen , i wont buy a console for any reason.

Ofc there are games im missing , and i would love to have , but no i wont pay so many Euros just for a game or 2. My opinion though. PC all the way this gen

I have to be honest, there isn't really anything down the line that I'm really looking forward to. There is stuff I'm interested in but nothing that has me hyped.

Before some hateboy decides to declare that a platform problem it's the case for everything. Once upon a time I used to look at games on other platforms and hope they will eventually hit mine, now there is nothing on the other platforms that does that for me, not a single game on PS3 or 360 that I'd like to play.

There just isn't anything special down the line, they're all sequels/already done before titles that aren't really trying to escape the mould.

The rising cost of games is causing developers to stay in their comfort song. Look at the sales for TWEWY, Valkyria Cronicles, or pretty much any creative game that's not DLC, pretty disappointing.

Since when has Valve ever focused on consoles? Why does the PC version of TF2 get frequent support when the 360/PS3 version gets...none? Why did TOB on PC outsell the console versions?

Since when the announcement of Crysis 2 going multiplat contribute that Crytek only focuses on consoles now? They've wanted to go multiplat from the very beginning.

Id? They haven't made a good game in YEARS and they've been MP ever since Doom.

As for Monolith I have no idea why you included them. No One Lives Forever was MP, so was FEAR, and Condemmed. They haven't been PC centric for a while now.

I think this generation of gamers are spoiled and shortsighted for the most part, and the internet has given them an overblown sense of the importance of their opinion in the overall scheme of things.. There are more outlets available to get you gaming needs than ever on the consoles and still people are complaining about how terrible EVERYTHING is.I don't know what people were expecting out of this gen, but I can't help but to think that their expectations were completely unrealistic.

As someone else said in this thread, I'm having problems keeping up with everything there are so many good games to play. I'm glad a lot of the holiday releases were pushed back to next year.

This generation has been great for consoles this gen IMO. There's been alot of impresssive titles like Gears 1 & 2, GTA IV and Masss Effect. More importantly, this gen introduced me to online gaming.
