I have come to my senses, COD4>Halo 3.

About 4 months ago I got halo 3 just to see what the fuss is all about and I liked what I saw. The graphics were good, the gameplay was nice and the MP experience was superb. I was hooked on the Halo3 multiplayer for a long time until I decided to get CoD4 for my PS3. Boy what a huge improvement over halo 3. The graphics were just breathtaking, it never sacrificed story for gameplay or vise verse, the story was short, but oh so satisfying(like Portal) and the MP, oh the MP. It was just so deep with the perks and the 16 maps and the game types. It was just amazing. Then I went back to halo 3 and it was like a reality check for me. I realized that everybody yapping there arses off in the headset were 10 years old, the graphics are inferior and the story was just as inferior. Since then I have not been able to put down CoD4 for a second. Thank you Infinity Ward.tader-salad

COD4 is a great game. Too bad COD5 is going back to World War 2. Have fun playing COD4, because I can't :cry: .NFS102

COD4 has made every other FPS obsolete for me, I sold Rainbow Six Vegas after I went back and tried to play it again....I just couldnt it was horrible.

COD4 to me is the better game, but I only say that because Halo 3 was hyped by Microsoft to kingdom come and beyond. If Halo 3 was hyped as a A-grade game (7.0 here), we'd have a bunch of threads popping up saying Halo 3 is "underrated", etc. Halo 3's strength also lead to it's downfall, essentially.

same, well actuall cod in general did. the intense firefights are what attracted me the most.

i found all of the halo campaigns to be extremely boring. but this is probably because i played COD1 on the pc before i played halo.

Cod 4 is great but camping is a big issue and the overpowered weapons like the m16 are very annoying. Halo offer vehicles,forge,theater, and coop. Call of duty 4 offers perks and customization. I thought halo 2 destroyed both in multliplayer. In the end halo offers so much more and the lag dosnt ruin the game.

Talked to a mate who enlisted instead of going to uni the other day, Juggernaut helped alot there. So did the auto-aim and respawns.

i couldnt grasp cod4, felt way to much like cod2 with a mod slapped on. lol. But thats just me, playing through the game it was like a slap to the face. I was expecting something totally different.SunLord592

and halo 3 didnt feel EXACTLY like halo 2? cod4 was great.. They changed what they thougth would be good.. They changed the time period which changed the weapons and the environments and left the same great feel of COD..

I find it more balanced than the grenade fest in COD4.

But COD4 pales in comparison to TF2.

For a while, I was convinced that Halo 2 was king of console FPS. The story was decent, and the gameplay was tight.

Then I got COD 2.

I was never the same afterwards. There was no story, but that's what Halo 2's for IMO.

the only reason why some people prefer cod4 is because its easier to get kills in the game

He's nine, and he plays Halo 3, and he's becoming famous, and he completely destroys people. As long as he exists in a match, you will not have fun.

it was the opposite for me. i have way more fun at halo 3, it's just a better game in most areas

Teamwork and strategy are extremely important in Halo, although granted it's extremely hard to find a group of players that bother with it because most people online are a bunch of morons (this includes all online games, not just Halo). What strategy is there in Call of Duty 4? all you do is camp.

It's a matter of personal preference really. I think they're both equal in terms of quality. It's just which style of gameplay you prefer. Hectic battles, or one-hit-kill shoot outs.

I grow very tired of the "COD4>Halo" threads, or "Halo annihilates COD4". They're clearly very close in terms of quality. Why system wars is so obsessed with one being hands-down better than the other is confusing to me when it's clear that the answer is neither.

That's why these threads tend to be made by hardcore lemmings or cows. The lemming will say Halo 3 wipes the floor with COD, the cow will say the opposite. Anyone else would naturally say that they both rule, and would probably prefer one over the other due to their own personal gameplay tastes.

Nobody would own both games and make a thread like this.

Why is it that the lesser of the two is always described as absolute trash, as well? I dont understand; like one more, by all means, but why does that relegate the other to the hall of fame for worst game ever made all of a sudden?

This game is more liked because it's too easy! It's not challenging at all! It gets boring within an hour because when I walk around, there's always someone camping, so I juust walk around the corner, look, see somone, and shoot them. Hell, even the sniper are easy to kill. They'll be laying in a field of grass, then guess what, I will just shoot them from a far off distance. And guess what, if you get five kills in one life (very easy), you get an airstrike, then it'll kill two more people or more, and you'll get a helicopter making you just sit around waiting for it to go away or be shot down at the same tim as you're camping. It's a great game, the SP is a lot harder than the MP, which makes it not the best multiplayer game out there.

Halo 3 actually takes little skill and makes you go out and get you're own kills without relying on AI helicopters or just knifing someone in the back.
