I own only a PS3, but honestly, IMO, multi-platform games look better on 360

I've been looking at this site called Lens of Truthand they compare multi-platform games for PS3 and 360. Every game I've looked at under their Head2Head section looks better, IMO, on 360. Here's some examples:

Bionic Commando
PS3

360

Resident Evil 5
PS3

360

Need For Speed Shift
PS3

360

I know how great the PS3 exclusives look, but I buy more multi-platform games than exclusives. 360 clearly looks crisper and has WAY BETTER shading effects. I don't understand why the PS3 versions don't. I know the machine can handle it. Lame.

Yeah, PS3 may have the edge on exclusives but when it comes to multiplats, 90% look better on the 360. And there are more multiplats than exclusives, so ..... i guess 360>PS3

Exclusives > Multiplats.

Anyways the difference is so small you wouldnt actually notice while playing. Unless you paused the game, stuck your nose up to the screen and started pixel counting.

You should change the title to "multiplats look better on 360", otherwise you will get a cow stampede, and a million UC2/KZ2 screenshots, with the occasional Crysis one.

I find it funny how Sony had what.. almost 5-6 years to beat the 360 and still there is heavy confliction to both sides as which is better.

Look at the pipes on the first two pictures. Shadows under the pipes are completely absent from the PS3 version.

They both look very similar to me, and it's hard to say, even side-by-side, which one is better. They just look about the same, just a slight difference. I'm not really sure which version i'd prefer, and while playing, I probably wouldn't care.

Allow me to quote SolidTy's brilliant post...

Okay, working with your premise. The PS3 is powerful, but for some developers it's like trying to wield EXCALIBUR.

Not all can lift the damn sword.:?

However, when it's lifted it's a Marvelous sight. 8) (Uncharted, MGS4, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, etc.)

The 360 is still fantastic, and it's much easier to use, which results in near equal performance in the end. Then there is the Multiplats which tend to favor 360, although in this year, it's a matter of a pixel or two that's out of place.

Who cares? The differences are so little you can barely tell.. Besides the fact that you have your profile set to private questions if you really have a PS3.

I probably would agree that about 85 - 90% of 360 games look slightly better.

But the difference is so small, that i wonder why someone would care. Anyway who plays their games zoomed in?

There may be a slight edge in some instances, however the PS3 is way more reliable, more hardware, and has free online. There's not much of a difference in those photos and who knows if they're making the 360 version look better on purpose or not?? I can easily make games on one system look better by changing video settings on my TV ie.... Color, brightness, contrast, sharpness etc.

Exclusives on PS3 look slightly better than games on the 360, too bad I'm not really interested in them. And while it's true that multi-plats look better on the 360, you can't notice the differences. They don't make games unplayable. To me, the best game the on the PS3 is Demon's Souls, and its graphics don't come close to a Gears of War or Ucharted or Killzone 2 game.

Yes, since all the developers' excuse are that PS3 manufacture is too complicated for them to make games. The only way to judge is to divide developers into 2 sections. One making for PS3 and one making for MS. Both will make the same game but on different consoles. And both will receive supports from SONY and MS each to make the game. But we all know it'll never happen. :(

Oh, really? The difference isn't neglible; it has been quantified quite a lot since the launch of the systems and it still happens today, just not as big a difference now as it used to be. And you can judge graphics on consoles on multiplats from exclusives. They prove that the 360 is a better gaming machine, & that most multiplats run, look, and play better than PS3.

12345678ew

Then you might want to take a look at this site here.

Not to mention that PS3 has more multiplats that are in Sub-HD than the 360. Not even MGS 4 was in Real HD. If it wasn't for uncompressed audio, then the 360 can very easily handle that game and make it in Real HD.

I've said this before and I'll say it again the difference is so small that the quality of your TV has a bigger impact. I have a 52 inch Sony Bravia which is a amazing TV. My cousin who owns a 360 swears that the PS3 is more powerful then his 360 because the multiplat games look so much better on my TV. The graphics look more vibrant and sharp. He isn't the first person to make that remark to me either. And I'm talking about games that have a reputation for looking better on the 360 (RE5).

It's kind of funny how people make such a big deal about these differences and last gen the difference between Xbox and PS2 multiplats was way larger then this gen but back then people didn't care nearly as much. Now that multiplats are nearly identical, every tiny difference is made to be bigger then it actually is.

Its because Devs find it easier and cheaper to develop for the 360 first and then port it to the PS3. But its not a big difference, the Exclusives more than make up for it :p Besides if you own a gaming rig it shouldnt be a problem :D

I think the blame should be put on Sony, who knowingly made their console hard to develop for. We shouldn't expect Dev's to have to put in the extra man power/ hours in order to get the game running the same as the 360 version when the PS3 version will most likely sale less.

Bingo. It's not the developers fault that the PS3 is more harder to develop games for, & that the PS3 doesn't have a better GPU & more RAM than the 360.

I think there have only been a few notable titles that have had the PS3 as their lead platform:

DMC4

Mirror's Edge

Burnout Paradise

Ghost Busters

Virtual Fighter 5

unreleased:

Tekken 6

FFXIII

And you can judge graphics on consoles on multiplats from exclusives. They prove that the 360 is a better gaming machine,

Wait..What?

I'm saying that you can judge which console has better graphics with multiplats. Exclusives don't mean anything.

True in the fact that you cant make a comparason with an exclusive game as there is only the one version. How do you know how it would run on the other console to compare? you cant.
