I Played 45 Minutes Of Destiny, And It Was Kind Of Boring

According to Kotaku, the greatest gaming website hip and down with the kids Destiny ain't all that.

First off: Who cares about Kotaku. That is like getting slammed by Molyneux or Pacter.

That said, when I hear talk about Destiny alls I think is: "So you are going to revolutionize Borderlands 2 by copy and pasting everything but that which made it unique? Yep, sounds like a Halo Dev to me." So freaking thank you for showing me I think like Kotaku. I am going to go find booze until I forgot.

I didn't think much of Destiny just from the vids I've seen. That is certainly one game I'll wait for all the reviews and gamer feedback from or maybe just rent it.

Borderlands 2 is Diablo ripoff. But shit.

I wouldn't make too much of that. Also it's a shooter. Shooters have been done to death and beyond.

I read half of it. This bastard can't write always gets sidetracked the stupidest things.... Stop telling me about stupid Osbourne and focus on the game !

Anyway:

The reason it was kind of boring is because the gameplay was mediocre... Simple as that. The reason why other people are gona have tons of fun with it is because they're gona have an experience he didn't.

When the game releases you'l be able to create your own character and play it for much longer.... With your own creation you're going to be more invested in the game giving you the impression that its actually good, and before you know it 2 years will have passed, because MMO's !

Imho Destiny looks pretty underwhelming from the day it was announced. I guess this game is hyped only because it's made by Bungie.

I thought it was boring since the first few seconds of watching it, what is it 8 player battles in relatively small environments? Snooze

Games had randomly generated loot before Blizzard, and Borderlands 2 is a rip off of like everything in the past thirty years of popular culture.

I just watched a game play video of it and thought it looked boring so that's no surprise.

I agree, but take this aspects of the game into an account:

- it's a shooter that wants to be an MMO, or vice-versa.

- what exactly can you redefine at FPS genre? The game looks like just about any other shooter from the last five years.

- it doesn't have "that something" Halo had.

I'm sure Destiny will do great sales-wise, and it'll most definitely be supported by totally legit perfect 10 reviews from every site/magazine on the planet, because Activision needs another killer MMO to have a nice, steady income World of Warcraft generated all these years. But I feel the game will be crap nonetheless.

Well, I'll wait until E3 before I pass judgement. I think the game could go either way. I'd like it to be good but I wouldn't be too shocked if it sucks. Everybody seems to have a place in which they thought the Halo franchise took a nose-dive. I actually thought as far as SP went they did a good job all the way up to Reach and that it was 343 that took it over the cliff with Anniversary and Halo 4.

Part of me worries Destiny could try being too ambitious with it's online features, but hey what is progress without risks. If it's awesome then that's great, if not then it'll be something developers can learn from and maybe improve upon. Something tells me though with the Bungie and "Creators of Halo" behind the marketing of it, it'll probably sell really well regardless of its quality.

Anyhow, looks like a mix of Halo meets Borderlands, maybe it'll do well. I wouldn't be surprised if it got delayed another year if it's not up to snuff.

That said, drawing comparisons to titanfall is kind of eh, Idk. I can't agree there.

Probably call of duty kids who just want to frag each other. This game looks to add some rpg elements and for me I am all over that. Will actually make the shooter worthwhile instead of just running and shooting each other.

I wasn't aware there was hype around this game to begin with? I always thought it looked meh.

Im sure millions of people will buy it after the expensive marketing it will surely get and the websites have done hyping it up to be the best game since the last one they got paid to hyped up.

Honestly, I never got this game. I watched a few trailers but, other than being pretty and having really cool weapons, there isn't anything that's different from other shooters.

I'm still pretty excited about this game. Hopefully a awesome CE edition is available.

It's the Sony shooter curse. Since it seems like they made the PS4 the lead platform it becomes generic. I'll give it a chance though. It looks pretty chill but I'm hoping for big scale battles and battles against big bosses. Seeing these previews just gets me excited for the next Halo instead.
